most singers will always use a mix of back track with live singing and its understandable, it is hard putting all the energy they do into it and still get everything perfect, it backs up the performance and does not mean that he isnt ALSO signing live
I love Meatloaf and I just love his words and the messages behind them with each song he does. Those that say he's lip singing sometimes, look at the guy at the panio. I think he might be that guy your hearing.
i dont think he is lip syncing they are using a backing track though and thats y it might look that way at 2:03 ish but there are also some tells that he is really singing like the way he bends a little on the tougher notes thats a technique to protect a tired voice from harm and the way there are subtle differences from the recorded version and this one.
i think its so hard to tell if hes miming cos there using the original song as a backing track as opposed to a band, so its gonna be the exact same rythym etc their kinda constrained. I think it sounds A LOT like thevideo, but i dont think its miming as there is subtle differences at some points. Also if they both have little work dont to their voices after recording (which is possible, theyre both awesome live, lol) then its really hard to see the difference lol. I vote not miming tho
Meatloaf wrote a couple of songs from this album, but he never wrote many songs. Most are from Steinman, Desmond Child. This song was written by Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue and I believe Desmond Child.
One thing to consider is the size of this studio isn't big enough for the whole band, even if they were available. I'm glad to see two of the best voices of all time.
Their performance is the same as in the official video...as are the vocals. It may not be the best performance - but it's still a great song and they are still two of the best voices I know...
Its lip synched the backround vocals are from more than the 2 ladies, At the 2 minute mark its clearly visible its not really sung, He sings without a microphone. Great song, not sure what it is recorded for.. Live versions are much better anyhow..
the loaf just puts so much show into all of his work, each time he sings it, it changes, not the words but always the performance, and almost always for the better
I really hope the LOAF is back in 2008. He has brought so much happiness to so many people it would be cruel for it all to end this way with an illness stopping him finishing the 3 bats tour. Take care Meat. Luv and respect
i think this man is a bloody genius, people say that im daft to think he has a good voice but i say theyre deaf as i will always say meatloaf is number one, im only 19 and i would put my money and my life on his lyrics, what can i say the man's a saint, cama from glasgow
Hey great to hear there are younger guys out there who appreciate his genius. Bat out of hell was released the year I was born. I have grown up with Meats music and feel it has shaped me into who I am today. NEVER stop rocking! In the land of the pig, the butcher is KING!
I'm about the same age as you, was in 12th grade when Meat made his huge comeback with Bat II, and i know exactly how you feel. Tell me, did you get joked by people for being Meat fan? "Hey man, you gotta listen to Pearl Jam" I got alot of that but stood my ground!
I am trying to download this song but, no luck....someone please help..thankyou...i just love this song and meatloaf he is a true classic no one like "MEAT" as Jim Steinmen would say
he's gettin pretty fukin old and his voice has porbably had it unfortunately so he has 2 lip sing if he don't wanna sound shit, which really is a bummer
Thank you for telling me. I *cough*downloaded it*cough* and I had no clue where the video was from. I just like it. I've always loved most of the songs Meatloaf sings, and his videos are usually quite good. This was the first live vid I've seen of his, and it just kinda stuck with me. His energy. He was very into this song, and I don't think it was all 'playing to the audience'. He seems to really love what he does.

You can tell @ 2:03-2:05 that he is lip synching. He misses his mark there, but who really cares. This is Meatloaf! He is a vocal god!
perrysprincess 1 year ago
@perrysprincess I think hes singing along to the recording because it looks like it was at a time his throat was having troubles again.

Plenty of great singers have mimed from time to time for some reason or another. Even if they are, they put on a great performance.

I don't know, but if they are lip-syncing, why would they put monitors in their ears?

its obvious hes miming for 2 reasons
1. he misses his cue and is singing without the mic to his mouth
2. theres no band yet theres a guitar solo
but still can u blame him hes been singing like that for years
