people invest money to make more money, not to watch it go down in value. Investing in green energy yields a negative return on investment. All you who are complaining don't have money that's why you can't do anything about it. All the people who have money are smart enough to not invest in green. You have to figure out how to earn money first, then use it to invest in green... but will you invest hard earned money in green when it will just lose value??? YOU JUST GOT OWNED!
Project Blue is actualy loophole portfolio to evoid taxes. God willing i hope RBC goes bust, will surely close all my rbc on this wednesday and put none ING. Every Resposible Canadian should pull off their money from RBC.
The funny thing is that on RBC's intranet, they post stories about being one of the greenest corporations and about their clean water efforts (project blue). They even have an environmental committee that employees can join. What does the committee do? I'm not entirely sure. I think they sometimes send out surveys. Nothing serious of course. More like the type of survey you would have read in 1989.
Hmm Albert Energy Claim "Developers are required to restore oil sands mining sites to at least the equivalent of their previous biological productivity, which means the region as a whole forms an ecosystem landscape at least as healthy and productive as that which existed before development."
But there is no picture or example of restored oil sand mining sites, and in most pictures it looks like nothing is ever going to grow they're again
are you serious i hate that people don't understand the cluster fuck of oil was there lake a huge natural oil spill. the tar sands can and should be viewed as a clean up. the oil was leaching into the river long before we got there. try talking to people who work up there and understand what they are doing there. they will spread some light on your horribly miss guided views.
@Scoti45 How? Explain the extremely high cancer rates in fort chipewyan. My cousin works for oil company in Fort McMurray and sees this shit EVERY DAY!
We need to start criminaly charging Goverment employees that do not have, hold or show a valid constitutional oath of office...including Police officers
The CANADIAN PEOPLES NEED TO STEP UP AND CLAIM THERE RIGHTS!
I lived in Fort Mc Murray for 25 years, and was only 25 miles away from the Suncor Tarsands Plant.Toxic Environment? Only if you don't mind living past your 55th birthday!" My now dead Father" ate, slept, and breathed Suncor for 25 years. Suncor has a wonderful retirement package but you'll never live long enough to enjoy it.And they know it! Why do you think they pay so well? Right before my father died he was making $87.00 hr.If i could I would blow up that fucking disgrace of a Hellish place.
@2210ethan I can! Yes 2 friggin tonnes for 1 barrel! + a shit load of water + a shit load of natural Gas.I challenge the elites at RBC to go for a swim in the tailings pond.If it was good enough for the 5000 ducks who died there a year ago it should be good enough for there sorry asses.
Not necessary to alienate the Global warming skeptics. This is REAL environment poisoning. Forests will be gone forever NEVER to return. NEVER again will wildlife come back here.
RBC is cashing in... so is Alberta... with the deficit and jobs as it is, theres no way they are going to close down the oilsands. Also the world is becoming more dependent on oil sands.
We need alternative energy... however nothing exists on a industrial scale. WE need to get rid of oil... I never realized how large the oilsands till I looked at a map. its almost a 1/3 of Alberta.
not a chance Mckeon, at the moment, it is the government that bends to the powers of business giants and not the other way around. Compelling business leaders to think critically and act responsibly about funding destructive projects is the only way to resist it, unfortunately the man standing at the mic doesn't have a clue and frankly it's surprising the RBC's PR didn't prepare someone to deal with such a question, just shows how hasty their plans are.
They should have bought more CDOs and CDSs? You should blame the gov't. Poor guy just buys profitible businesses that are approved by gov't and you guys jump all over him. What do you want from him? divest and tell the shareholders they are broke. Gov't says it's fair game then it is so. Want it changed? hold them accountable. In a car accident, do you hold the engine responsible because it was pushing the car or the driver of the car? Don't hate the players hate the game

Unless the oil sands have destoryed the beer stores and bingo halls, I don't think they've destoryed the indians "traditional way of life."
