  • I just started fly fishing last year in the U P any good flys and or pointers for me?

  • paint river

  • This is the fox river

  • hey is this the two hearted river because i fish there and this looks a lot like it

  • Wow, beautiful trout. I would love to try some small stream fishing like that, what stream is that and where is it?

  • what are some good early june flys?

  • @BuddyWackIt369 By early June there are a range of hatches in full swing. Mayflies in your arsenal should include sulphurs, hendricksons, gray & brown drakes. Also the stone-flies begin to hatch now = little yellows and big browns. Caddis should include the american grannom and the little green caddis, and small sedges. Keep a range of elk hair caddis hand. I like the rhycophilla and hydropsyche larva as well. You can see some of these on my blog at wifly.wordpress

  • I am a Yooper and i live in trolls land right now and i sure miss them brookies

  • @MichiganTroutMan There are plenty of brooks to go around down here, you just got to find em. I know of several streams with class brooks in em. You just got to be ambitious.

  • that was great, i go tothe fox as whell.that is where i landed the biggest brook in my life.late september is the best

  • Glad you enjoyed. Not the Fox River though although that is also a great fishery and I highly recommend trying. This is further east...

  • There are many good spots up there for sure.

  • No - in fact although we saw a couple of beavers on this paddle, we did not come across any dams or ponds...
