  • I think he over did that rotation. Could have easily brought it to a stall. Sure you want to get away from that truck as fast as possible but not stressing the aircraft like that.

  • Done very skillfully. I would imagine the right turn was to get as far away from the tug as possible? Very interesting...never seen this done.

  • @ChongMcBong The insurance company knows. This is a common seasonal transitions in many areas of the country (especially Alaska). In the winter they run wheels or skis and in the summer they run floats. Returning in the fall with the floats is actually easy because EDO and other manufacturers say its perfectly fine to land them in the grass. Its only take off after installing the floats that gets tricky as this video demonstrates. -Robert, CFII Land&Sea
