@mirzamarco Thanks for the reply. I actually have all his LPs on vinyl, also have most of his single releases on 12" format, but I would just love to get my hands on some of those precious cd copies. I was looking at various web sights and I did come across his debut album at a reasonable price, so Il be ordering it soon. Other than that, like youve already acknowledged I just have to keep a lookout for a bargain.(hopefully anyway).
This is his finest work, i.m.o. anyway. This is the song that got me hooked on the wee man in the first place. As debut albums go, you wont find no better, its excellent, couldnt fault it.Can anybody tell me, why is it so hard to get Nik Kershaws first four album releases on C.D.? without paying out through the nose with scandalous prices on the likes of e.bay. I know theyre probably deleted, (Im guessing here), but still, if thats the case, I find it hard to believe why we cant get re-issues.
@medazaman His old material is out of print, and the demand is not big enough to make re-issues. Therefore, the old copies of his stuff have become rarities. It's kind of absurd, but it's how things go. 8 out of 10 questions in the FAQ section of his website are about this matter, but it seems there's no solution. A friend of mine bought "The Works" in CD but paid it a kidney (still worth it though), and Radio Musicola in cassette! Me, I have all these treasures in vinyl!!!
@TheEricinSF Indeed, he's a master at keyboards. In fact, he could play the synth riff of "I won't let the sun go down on me" while singing the chorus. Check the live version! And he's also an unbelievably good bass player. Just saying.
I was early teens was a huge fan and now listen to his songs alot - and i can sing every word- my fav album is def human racing was looking to get it on cd its now £46 that shows how popular he is !
The man is a musical God, simple. And thanks for all the tracks u have uploaded, have owned them all at some point but sh*t happens and they get misplaced, great to hear them again.
wix on keyboards he toured with mcartney. there is an awesome horn section on this album featuring jerry hey, larry williams, gary grant and kim hutchcroft who have played with micheal, quincy jones, earth, wind and fire and al jarreau.but i,m not sure if their on this track doubling the synth.nice guitar solo nik is truly talented but underrated by the critics big surprise!
@13Mimzz This song is about the Goverment and how they have control over us. "Cloak and Dagger Our World Behind Closed Doors" they are not telling us their secrets. GENIUS :D :D
@demonfang56 Thats right , a songwriter, singer , play all the instruments on many of the early albums. When I grew up I listen to Nik and Howard Jones.
This song is as brilliant and true today as it was back then.....
