I'm nineteen and I found about about Fats through a book called "The Jazz Ear" by Ben Ratliff. He interviews famous players and asks them what tunes they love.
Sonny Rollins said this was one of his favorites; it is one of mine now also.
I love Fats as well - we are a fan club (how can anyone not like this music and Fats delivery), makes me feel so much better when I need a lift from everyday stuff...

He's one of my favorite individuals of all time. The man was musical perfection.

How did someone as big as he was play so delicately? I could listen to that intro for hours.
