The first time I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit, I noticed the raw, youthful energy that this song brought to the table, the same energy that made the song absolutely huge. (And, if you don't recall, grunge was THE thing at the time) If anything, the energy in the pop music of today's culture is primarily fueled by the clubby, electro house sound. How can you fault this song for reinterpreting this energy for today's audience? After all, Kurt said he was "trying to write the ultimate pop song".
