To everyone saying that North Koreans never win medals or anything... Kim Gwang Suk was amazing, Hong Un Jong won gold in 2008 and Hong Su Jong has won a few too. They win medals.

@tristalista Didn't watch 2004 gym at all; no time. I did watch 2008 and don't recall seeing any of them. All I got were Americans, Romanians, Chinese and Russians. Don't even see Japan much though I know they're there somewhere.

I wish these gymnasts were allowed to participate at the very least in convocationals and commemorative competitions. They're basically where China were in the 80s & early 90s (amazing athletes, inconsistent in competitions.) With more international experience and recognition, NK would be a much stronger team in the Olympics. These girls are ridiculously good in the UB - all of their release moves are impossibly high, and they hit headstands and dismounts head on. Much respect to them :)

NOBODY does that anymore and its one of my favorite beam moves! all asian gymnasts are innovators in this sport i think.
