I saw a video of a little girl reading from the Quran (pardon any misspelling) during an Islamic holy day. I don't find it offensive. And videos that depict images of Muhammed (again pardon any misspelling) aren't banned. Hmmmm, interesting.

Most people have dynamic IPs so once you reconnect you have a different IP. They may do other stuff like placing cookies on your computer but at least if you reformat your PC you can access it again.

I saw your video that got you permanently banned.I've heard that identical music on at least 25 videos in the last few weeks. You should be able to upload that video again - sans music - if that is what YouTube/Google is claiming is the part that resulted in the video being pulled/ban. There's no reason for a permanent ban.
You are OBVIOUSLY being singled out. Or perhaps this has more to do with YouTube now being owned by Google.

Look at the rage from the Scandinavian cartoons. It's the same people/connections here.. To me it looks like YouTube is caving in on this. It's a bit bigger than it appears to be..

Looks like youtube/google went to their inhouse lawyers regarding this issue. Its possible they were vulnerable to a lawsuit so they switched there tactics to something that could be easily defensible.

OK, if they want to change their minds and now use the copyright infringement excuse, all nick has to do is take the music out of the video and then re-upload it to another account. If he gets banned again, then we know the score & that youtube is lying. BTW, only the copyright holder can file a claim against you, so this is probably rubbish.

Youtube are trying to have their cake and eat it. Up until now I respected YT for standing up for the rights of fair use, but if they start pulling this kind of crap I say it's time that they get some of their own medicine. Their help section on copyright says: "We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and promptly remove content when properly notified. Repeat infringers' videos are removed and their accounts are terminated and permanently blocked from using YouTube." ...

I am going to look at every Top Viewed, Most Discussed, Top Favorite and recently featured video. If there is as much as a second's worth of copyrighted material in there I am going to sent youtube a mail about it requesting them to take it down. I implore everyone to do the same.

update: If you look at the help topic "How do I file a DMCA complaint?" it seems that only the copyright holder can lodge a copyright infringement complaint. I call shenanigans.
Nick I say follow the instructions they give in the topic "How do I file a counter notice?" - at the very least that should enable you to find out exactly what infringing material you were supposedly banned for.
