Well, the US invaded Iraq in march 2003. The war ended (haha) april 2003.

Now it´s august 2007. Please explain, why there has to be a surge. Something is wrong.

It took four years to do what? Let´s wait another four years to see if the surge is working.

Those four years were spent making companies like Halliburton (and their subsidiaries) extremely rich. The longer they spend "rebuilding" Iraq, the more certain people have to profit...at the expense of the American tax payer, of course.
