There's a variety of alternative Bibles channneled by entities, discarnate & otherwise. Urantia is one. These are inventions of the mind. You believe the truth of Urantia, as others toward their sacred book. Doubt is not the reverse of belief but it's companion. In reading the life of Christ section in the Urantia book & its absurd that during holy week events were "documented" as happening at 5pm on Thursday et al. Wisdom should edify is as humans- spititual trivia serves no purpose.

Those that WANT to know Jesus the man find a way to know him. Jesus humanity is revealed in amazing detail in The Urantia Book and the book is freely available online. Jesus PROMISED that we would find what we seek for but first we must SINCERELY seek and have faith that God will answer. It takes faith to ask and faith to explore. Those of little faith never ask or seek because they don't believe Jesus' promise. Those who have faith, real faith, know better.

What is the etymology of some of these words? The word for heaven, Havona....... That doesn't sound very celestial. It seems to find it's roots in Earthly grammar. Havona, Heaven, etc.

yeah, like the part where Adam and his family fly on the backs of giant birds to get around? Makes as much sense as an old He-Man cartoon. Some of that book is very inspiring (like the life and teachings), some of it reads like bad science fiction, and a huge chunk of it is boring gobbleddygook. But it's still worth reading to pick out the occasional gem.
It's great to be reminded that we aren't the center of the universe, and that we can draw on the greatest power from the true Center any time we pause to consider it.

There's a variety of alternative Bibles channneled by entities, discarnate & otherwise. Urantia is one. These are inventions of the mind. You believe the truth of Urantia, as others toward their sacred book. Doubt is not the reverse of belief but it's companion. In reading the life of Christ section in the Urantia book & its absurd that during holy week events were "documented" as happening at 5pm on Thursday et al. Wisdom should edify is as humans- spititual trivia serves no purpose.

kalixtus : Odd, isn't it, what things attract different people. I was introduced to Oahspe many years ago, and took to it like a fish to water. I read the Urantia book, and it comes out to me as mostly gobldy-gook. Much of it is a re-write of the Bible, for which I have little use.

Those that WANT to know Jesus the man find a way to know him. Jesus humanity is revealed in amazing detail in The Urantia Book and the book is freely available online. Jesus PROMISED that we would find what we seek for but first we must SINCERELY seek and have faith that God will answer. It takes faith to ask and faith to explore. Those of little faith never ask or seek because they don't believe Jesus' promise. Those who have faith, real faith, know better.

Such statements are unthinkings as if they were taken from the confused doctrine of the dogmatic group religions. Far better is it you wish to make yourself more perfect to shine as a gem in his hand and as a gift to the creator Our Father of all. those living darkness live in fear. it's actually a truism. darkness literally means ignorance. so for example, let's say you are pulled in by one of those tide things in between waves.. well, an ignorant man would be terrified as hes being pulled further into the ocean.. a man who knows, on the other hand, simply swims off to the side into the waves to be dragged back to the beach. that is all that means. I've always enjoyed that saying.

What is the etymology of some of these words? The word for heaven, Havona....... That doesn't sound very celestial. It seems to find it's roots in Earthly grammar. Havona, Heaven, etc.

Anyone can say holding the truth (every sect does and there's many of them) that does not mean it is true and as a matter of fact they can't all be true so therefore they must be wrong...

Evil is chaos. Belief in God is awesome. It is also personal. Belief in a book doesn't matter, its the truths that matter. I find truth in many places and ways. This book is a good way for me, but certainly not for everyone at this time. This book is for those who are actively seeking truth and are unsatisfied with other sources of truth.

I gotta say, you really missed the mark there kickfighter. I am not 100% white, I know people who are not white at all who are readers. This book is also being worked on translation into many languages.
Its also not considered an official group. Its a collection of information.

It is hard to understand. Simplifying what it says God is: God is.
God is everything. God created everything, including creation and nothingness. Thats a major detail that I beleive through and around the book.

yeah, like the part where Adam and his family fly on the backs of giant birds to get around? Makes as much sense as an old He-Man cartoon. Some of that book is very inspiring (like the life and teachings), some of it reads like bad science fiction, and a huge chunk of it is boring gobbleddygook. But it's still worth reading to pick out the occasional gem.
