  • auz..iba tlga ang pinoy..and im porud to be pinoy..

  • Does everybody know what is the step of singing lessons..from beginning till the end. 1 ?, 2.?, 3?...

  • @adesign2u

There is no definite steps in singing lesson aside from some standard in breathing, enunciation/ diction, posture in singing, etc. Vocal exercises and lessons varies per teacher . It is important to consult your vocal techniques coach first. and let them sample your voice through vocalization and find your tonal range so they may classify your voice and find a suitable approach for you. You begin with basic, then go up with belters lesson, and finally star borne lesson and recitals.

  • abt PROJECTING UR VOICE: I imagine my voice is a 'present' and I'm singing/giving it to a loved one who is standing at the opposite end of the place I'm singing (so my voice shuld be larger depending the size of the place). I used this cuz I used to be too nervous before, now I project my voice to the max all the time.

  • @tima9992003

I suppose this is called "dynamics". This is helpful especially if you are singing in an empty hall so you can estimate how much effort and volume you should make into your. But when singing with a microphone and amplifier. it is important to estimate your voice loudness with respect to the distance of your mouth to the microphone. A collaboration with the audio technician is often helpful for proper mic setting.

  • thanks for this. im subscribed..

  • hello maam jai! greetings from up college of music

  • the women is super cute (:

  • pagdating ng panahon:))

  • Hopefully I'm not spamming, but I'm giving my opinions and my own expiriences, doesn't make me an expert, but just sharring what I know :P

Anyways, I also noticed one of your steps....You say "Don't sway or any unnessasary movements" or something along those lines...But would you mind in a comment explaining why? Because in all honesty for me...It actually helps me, because when music moves my soul and I'm relaxed and singing, I sway...I can't help it, but it helps me. And I'm someone that

  • @EnigmaticSilhouette

I approved all your comments so that other people can give you their best advice. This video is a very basic and is straightforward. The tips given here were among the hundreds of techniques devised to fine tune your voice. This is a vocal techniques also used in speech level kind of singing, but it doesn't applies to all singers. As I have said in the past, techniques varies - it depends on your body framework and singing capacity. Use only those which are applicable.

  • AVOID UNNECESSARY SWAYING - I think Prof. Jai's point here is not on the singer's but on the audience concern. Too much unnecessary movements annoys the audience and couldn't concentrate on your singing. Remember, singing is not only how you hit the correct notes, but how you connect the audience to effectively tell a story out of your song. Your expression and gestures creates your stage blockings. It is not mentioned in this video, but is very important.

  • Also "Singing from your gut" does make you louder and cleaer I have noticed..

And yes, Posture is important too...Something I badly need to work on overall...But I know lack of confidence overall can give you bad Posture...When one is sad, discouraged, nervous, etc etc...They tend to hang their head low, etc=Bad Posture (One example anyways) that is me lol...

  • -I have been doing that and it has helped alot, so breathing indeed is a HUGE part of singing properly and also safely...I'm sure if you breath wrong and strain yourself, you can mess up something, like, vocal chords etc. You must sing carefully and without too much strain, I am learning this. Also I've learned moods, you can even fake one for certain songs...Try to think of something that angers you for the angry songs, etc. Or so I've been told, but I have noticed...It's true. I sing better.

  • Hi, so far (still watching) from what I've seen of this, this looks like it'd really help me and others to sing better. I have been told I am a good singer, although I sing for Hobbie, not Career. Great pass time and it relaxes me too depending what I sing and my mood etc. But my problem is I sing too quiet, but I am working on that and have indeed gotten better, someone at Karaoke said to "Sing from the Gut" Take in a deep breath first but not to the point it hurts, & let it out slowly in song

  • I really love Professor Aracama.. :)

  • I´am from Germany. I just want to thank you. Your advices are greats... Kind regards

  • @Saudave

You're welcome... Too bad you can't watch some of my other important videos, they were banned/ disabled in your country due to Copyright claims by Sony Music and Universal Music Group.

  • @mannydeguzmanjartist Thank you so much for your great tips. Is there a way we could access your other important videos like your own website or can you send it to us through email if it's not too much of a hassle?

  • @TheExoticangel

Go to my YouTube Channel page. The 3 albums you find there represents my website, my modeling/ talents site, and my Multiply account where you can find some photos/ images of my works. Click on the small thumbnails and that would lead you to my sites. Thanks for asking =p

  • @lovezyouable

I'm sorry, I'm not so familiar with medical therapy, and I can't suggest anything without your medical history at hand, if you had throat problems before. Ano ba ang work mo abroad and how did you used your voice, baka nman naabuso mo ang vocal chords mo. I suggest you to have a throat examination by a doctor, and then if the test results are good, then you can proceed with basic breathing techniques and eventually practice singing again. Just don't overdo, practice gradually.

  • This does help!!!!

Thank you very much for pinpointing it

    Ribs mustn't be collapsed

I can feel the strong support

  • hi po,ask lang po, i'm rod,19 years old,, anu po ang mangyayari if magcollapse ang ribs?

at dpat bah talagang hindi mgcollapse ang ribs?

    thanks po

  • @kagwangers

Basically, the reason why you shouldn't collapse your ribs is to maintain proper breathing and sustain air freely through your diaphragm.

The rib muscles may begin the contraction as you exhale, but the ribs must be kept extended so that there will be something for the diaphragm to pull against. In the control of the outgoing breath from which speech is made, you must not let the rib cage cave in at the same time or you will lose control of the outgoing column of air.

  • They have such good voice. Does she have a video dvd i can buy?

  • @hasher22

Unfortunately, none... This singing techniques tutorial is part of a Karaoke VCD on Pinoy OPM Karaoke released few years ago. I just ripped this one from the original disc.

  • Thank you very much for this Lesson po... I've always been wanting to learn how to sing "good", since I was in highschool, I've been asking my mom na gusto ko magvoice lesson, pero since wala budget... ayun, sira ang pangarap... and now, thanks sa internet, and I found your video. You're great... this video is a great help... hmmm added to my dreams, to be one of your students. :)

  • This is freaking awesome. She is an awesome teacher. They can really sing. This is my new inspiration.

  • proud to be pinoy!! lot of pilipino artist are great!!

  • I love this vid.... really cool

  • this actully helps

and that boy has a really nice voice :)

    what song was he singing

  • Air Air Air. and more Air. Triple the air.

  • @bella2theend

That's right. "Proper breathing" is one of the most effective technique in achieving good voice, not only in singing but speech as well. It eliminates stammering, and exhaustive singing. Proper breathing makes you relaxed, especially in hitting high and sustaining notes and protects your vocal chords from strains.

Proper breathing greatly helps in attaining "speech level kind of singing". As a former broadcast deejay and newscaster myself, I recommend good breathing practices.

  • wonderful really

  • Why take Vitamin C, and in which food is it in?

    Thx :)

  • Sources of Vitamin C - Amla, Amaranth, Guava, Cabbage, Lime, Spinach, Orange, Brinjal, Tomato, Cauliflower, Germinated pulses, Potatoes, Bengal gram, Radish,

    Reference: "HealthVitaminsGuide.c o m"

  • @Hozade1

Vitamin C or ascorbic acid helps the body in numerous ways. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant required for 300 metabolic functions in the body, which includes tissue growth and repair, adrenal gland function and healthy gums. Ascorbic acid is related to carbohydrate metabolism. It also helps to prevent the harmful effects of pollution, to prevent cancer, protects against infection and increases the immunity.

...A healthy and sound body free of illnesses makes a good singer.

  • OMG, i love Abigail Armstrong, i am her biggest fan, oh and i also like to sing so thanks for posting i might boost my confidence up a bit and make a singing video, thanks again and Abigail rules!

  • @KittenMitten240

I like Abigail Armstrong's passion in singing. From the very start, I could feel her dedication and I strongly believe someday, given the right opportunity, she'll reach for the stars. I have uploaded this video for her because I want her to improve. Previous comments on her wasn't good, but I think she's better now with her new singing videos.

This video is just a guide, but really the singer's passion paves the way for success. Kudos and thanks for dropping by!

  • this teacher is great please tell me where are located are how you could be reach for lesson

  • thnx for posting this...any tips for me? ty :P

  • amazing , i dont know how to hit a high note

    and vibrato.

  • She is an awesome teacher.

  • that guy sounds good ta me

  • Wow! Ang galing... Thanks, i'll do it for myself too...

  • 2:52 is the best ever

  • wow, it's very informative!... thanks for posting this. but in the long run, the looks really matter in singing business nowadays.

  • hi, i used to do vocalization, but my coach trained me to shout the word LOVE,, for us to develop chest tone..

  • As I've said previously, vocal techniques depends on the coach/ trainer's preferences and body framework of the singer.

In general, shout-singing is applicable only for rock songs. But for standard belting procedure, the most important thing is how you hit high and sustain notes through proper diaphragmatic and sustained breathing techniques.

...As long as your throat are not stressed or doesn't hurt, the technique you've been taught is fine.

  • Vocalization is used mainly to identify, maintain or widen your vocal range.... In my opinion, shout - singing is entirely different or not connected with vocalization. Therefore, you can do both at the same session, one at a time.

...I remember my former singer/ model talent when she was younger, she used to do shout singing to add brilliance to her voice. In shouting, you have to learn to inhale properly so your throat will not be pushed or stressed hard, or you'll ruin your voice (harsh).

  • Sir, do you have videos for belting out technique like the ones in CPMP?

  • Sorry, I don't have. This is what I've got at the moment...

  • Really nice person I must add... she has lots of spirit...

  • I'm gonna be the next Charice...

  • Yes, you could be - even more than anyone else... Just keep on practicing. Never stop singing and put everything in your heart. Patience paves the way to success, hard work and discipline is the key. Commitment and dedication at your best...

    MANNY DE GUZMAN, JR.

  • CRAP THIS THING WAS MAKING ME HYPERVENTALATE!!!!

FRIGGIN JAPAN PPL MAKING ME NOT BREATH!!CRAP!!!

    ....now its on my favorites:))

  • Thanks for favoriting this video. Please remember that breathing techniques vary with culture, singing styles, body framework, etc. Chances are, some singing techniques might be applicable for you, others make youworst. Latest Japanese songs might be in a different category (anime pop, rock, etc.) My advice would be: choose songs that is suitable to your vocal range, and choose the best techniques and approach in singing. This video is a very basic set of techniques and exercises you can try.

  • This is an outstanding, superb lesson

  • siya ung voice mentor sa starstruck kahapon!! hehehe... galing nga niya magturo.. :D nagtuturo ba siya? saan? pde ako paturo? hahahaha :D

  • Yes she's the Star Struck mentor at GMA 7. Please contact her at the email address provided on the video info, or visit her at the U.P. website on the link provided.

Prof. Jai Sabas Aracama is a Professor at U.P. College of Music, and a vocal mentor for U.P. Concert Chorus group.

  • If its a more fast beat song, when do you breath when the words are so close together. I dont know if I'm explaining this situation clear enough, but can you please tell me.

  • It depends upon the syllables and vowels you are pronouncing. In my opinion, you should not breathe in between words to avoid chopping of some words. Breathe in after you enunciate a word at the end of a particular line. Study the lyrics and look for some points where you are comfortable to breathe in between words when sustained breathing has elapsed. This way, the words will be pronounced clearly while attacking some notes.

  • Galin galing Prof J..i wan tmore lessons please!!!

  • OMG GOOD JOB!!!!

  • thank u 4 sharing this video lage kong tinatanung ko meron na pilipino na ganito kc puro english mas gusto ko pinoy ang teacher dahil magaleng hahaha

  • I couldn't take this video seriously cause I kept on thinking I was learning how to sing like Mulan....

  • It's funny how you can't follow simple singing techniques such as these. The techniques featured here were among the most explained. If you are talking about Disney's "Mulan", it is Classical or Broadway type of music - covered by this lesson. If you are singing metal music and hard rock, then some techniques do not apply. But in general the techniques shown here are universal in singing and speech.

Tell me your difficulties in singing and I'll give my honest advice to the best of my knowledge.

  • I never said I couldn't follow them. I said I couldn't take it seriously....

  • Ok... If you cannot take this seriously, Then what are your preferences in singing? What "Mulan" are you referring to and what types of music do you sing?

These techniques applies to almost types of music, even in speech lesson Some do not apply to metal, bur for pop rock like the type of songs Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne sings, these applies. My former singer/ model sings a lot of Evanescence, Avril, and a lot of Emo Rock, and these were techniques I often gave her in her vocal warm ups.

  • This is the best, to the point, vocal training I've seen in all the internet. Where can I purchased Jai Sabas-Aracama's complete voice training videos?

    Thank you!

    David

  • I'm sorry but I'm afraid this is the only online training material by Prof. Jai Sabas Aracama produced by Vicor Records. This was a bonus material included in "OPM Pop Songs Videoke CD" released in 2005. I just ripped this video from the compilation of Filipino Music Karaoke and not offered for separate resale. I just uploaded this here under limited use as conforms with "Fair Use"

But you can contact Prof. Jai for tips through the email add or website provided on the video info on the right.

  • ¡¡¡Bueno!!!

  • Gracias, Amigo...

  • Hi! Prof. Aracama

    tnx for this video

    Ang galing mo po.

    sana mameet kita someday

    hehe

    GODBLESS!

  • wats the song they sing at 4:35?

  • It's a song entitled "Pagdating ng Panahon (When The Time Comes)" Performed by Filipina Singer/ Songwriter Aiza Seguerra.

...The REFRAIN part were translated like this. "When the time comes, it must've been you and me. Your heart and my heart might beat as one."

REFRAIN: Pagdating ng Panahon, Baka ikaw din at ako. Baka tibok ng puso mo'y maging tibok ng puso ko..."

You improved because you loved what your doing with all your heart, and this video was just a supplement in your singing. Singing is not an easy thing to do. But with proper attitude, patience and discipline you'll hit it right on track.

  • waw! astig to ha. thanks sa sharing

  • Prof. Sabas-Aracama is a very encouraging teacher at masaya! Too bad I never had the voice to join the UP Concert Chours when I was at Peyups many, many moons ago! Enjoyed watching this clip, even if I'm no singer. Good tips about breathing and vocalising in general for the amateur!

  • where can i buy this video????

  • I don't think this video's still on sale or available online, or in your country. This video clip is included as a brief tutorial supplement for a videoke CD released by VICOR RECORDS, Philippines in 2005. The VCD was entitled "OPM POP HITS VIDEOKE (a collection of Original Pilipino Music Karaoke).

...You can try to contact Prof. Jai Sabas Aracama, the vocal techniques instructor featured here for info regarding this video. Email at... janet.aracama@yahoo.c om or janet.aracama@gmail.c om

  • raising the shoulders when breathing in is incorrect... you should also keep your shoulders still not just the ribbs, you are showing a partially incorrect technique.

  • In deep sustained diaphragmatic breathing, it is sometimes better to raise your shoulder a bit (for a little control, but not overly) than getting stiff and giving stress to your body. Refer to this link... ww w . anxiety-cures.c om/breathing-technique.html

...It is you who can observe proper or the best techniques suitable for you. As with my previous comments, not all singing techniques are beneficial. It depends on body framework and capacity.

    MANNY DE GUZMAN, JR.

    SoundMagik Home Studio

  • The link you refered to is "supposed to be" a relaxation routine, not a breathing technique good for singing...a pretty bad routine, and it's sad even some doctors give this type of advice, because:

It's ok for the shoulders to raise slightly at the very end of a full inhalation, but in this video the students and the coach raise them too hard.. this CONSTRICTS THE INFLOW OF AIR for the lungs whatever "bodyframework" you may have.. as long it's that of a regular human beeing.

  • Regardless of application, still it is diaphragmatic breathing. The article has scientific basis (doctors still had mentioned raising shoulders a bit). The main goal is to regulate air flow (to be able to hold your breath longer and release at high/ sustained notes.

In some ways, singing is similar to diving.

In my experience as a former broadcaster and voice talent, this has done very little and unnoticed to fail me. I'm surprised at how keen you are in observing those things in details.

  • hey, most voal coaches will point that to you.. DON'T raise shoulders while you're breathing, it's that simple :)

do some searching on that and you will understand.. I'm not interested in your background while you are teaching sloppy breathing technique

  • To raise shoulders too high is a big NO. But raising a little, I think It's just okay.

I tried relaxed and sustained breathing without my shoulders raising or moving at all, and my small framed body have a hard time taking in enough air unless I raised it a little.

I think it depends upon the body frame. The most important thing is that you feel relaxed.

It depends upon the technique suitable for you, not all techniques work in the same fashion. What might've worked for you might fail me.

  • I don't know why you take the time to respondeto this user "521182". Your lesson is great.

    P.D:Disney's singers has amazing voices.

  • Dear "juanarab",

This video is open for criticism. I approved and reply to most of the comments as a reference, as long as the comment is not too offending or profane.

By weighing both positive and negative comments, we could learn from each other, and this video might be improved.

As some of you may agree with this video, others may not - depending on their preferences and experiences.

If a negative comment were based on confusion, I would try to reply to it in a constructive form.

    Tnx!

  • she sand the fullmetal alchemist song it was an ending theme to it but anyways.this is awesome, will u add me please mannydeguzmanjartist?or accept my add?i really want to sing well,im 13 and have improved using some tips on the internet and videos, and kept some, and use them, and i have improved in 2 weeks of practicing,my body matured faster,so will u help me learn how to sing?plze,if ANYONE wants to give me tips,my cell is 1 252 241 2331 plze, understand i sound older then 13 i matured faster.

  • It doesn't matter if you mature faster or not. No age has been set when you can learn singing. Some learned as an early age of 1 (check out "KAITLYN MAHER (4 year old singer) on America's Got Talent". Others as old as 80.

The best way to learn singing is by mastering it by heart. And an effective way to improve your singing is through constant practice and accepting constructive criticism.

Here's what you can do: Upload your performances here at YouTube, and I'll critic or comment on it.

  • im actult britisg not from the united states lol x

  • That guy looks so happy when he sustains the note, it made me laugh with him! Such a simple technique as correct posture changes his ability immediately!

  • As simple as that, but many seems to forget techniques. It's nice to have somebody to remind us all these meaningful techniques to ponder upon whenever possible. Good singing comes from the accumulation of one's learning and it's application to varied levels. Master singing by heart, and not just learning the techniques. These techniques are useless without one's drive or desire to sing. Perfection comes from one's dedication, patience and perseverance.

  • Thanks for the comment.

...It should be noted that this video nor any other techniques I posted in my channel were not meant to compete nor contradict/ offend any other's techniques and videos. I posted this particular one as a reference and a basic guide for beginners, or those who want to explore more singing techniques other than what they are taught or familiar with.

Singing techniques applies to all, but depends from case to case basis. Some are suited or beneficial for you, others aren't

  • awesome I loved it!!

    I like her energy!!

    very good constructive techniques

  • Totally awesome video! It shows what you have to do, how to do and the most importang - what's wrong and what is good! 5/5stars - simple and effective!

  • Dear friends and subscribers,

Thanks for all your comments on this video. Sorry if i couldn't reply most of your comments as of this moment, I'm having trouble with my internet connection (probably with my modem).

As I can see, most of your queries regarding this video were technical, and I wouldn't want to reply without doing my research. This requires time online. I would love to do all of you a favor, so my replies are based on studies.

I'll be back as soon as my problem is fixed.

    MANNY

  • Good technique and good video. You definitely know what you're doing, compared to "expertvillage". I read a booklet yesterday on not letting the chest collapse, but it was a bit vague on how to not let it collapse. Can you please clarify on not keeping your chest collapsed? Thank you.

PS: If you find it easier to explain in tagalog, please feel free to do so. I am very fluent in both.

  • This is neat. In my marching band, we do the hissing-like exercise... but of course without our hands on our rib-cages. We mark time and stand up straight. It really helps with air control. The longest we normally go to is 32 beats. There's kids that can go farther though. --OH and I know that was kind of unrelated, but I thought it was interesting. I never thought of using it for singing. Haha, what do I know?

  • This was very helpful. THankyou!

  • She is Right- practice makes all the difference.. and building strength. Yes training is dumb.. i hated it. but after it was done, - I won vocal awards, and did not understand why my old self - was always losing. Even bland - emo -punk country singers - need to support those notes. - and practice expanding thier range. then singing is like making love. or war.. or what you really really like! Better luck next time.

  • Thanks for the comment... I can see that there's so many point of views regarding singing techniques. I approved both negative and positive comments so as not to be biased and to weigh the opinions. I deleted those which are irrelevant or those hitting below the belt.

...Anybody's free to comment either constructive or negative, just be sure that you're credible enough to justify your claims or opinions so it would not be misleading for beginners as they would be the one to suffer .

    Thanks...

  • thanks, and sorry, that was misleading of me. I won singing contests - not awards. And lost my fear of singing any song.. no matter how high the notes.

  • does anyone know a siging coach in Visalia California im looking for one...

can anyone help id really appericate it!!

    Thanks♥

  • All you got to do is this: Relax and sing. It will come to you naturally. Don't follow these videos.

  • You want to be professional? Go ahead, relax and just sing with pleasure. Let's see where you'll end up with. I tell you, in no time at all, you'll end up with damaged vocal chords.

Singing at a high amateur or professional level usually requires innate talent and a great deal of regular practice, and/or instruction.[

These mini tutorials are by-product of years of research and practice, and here you are telling us not to follow vocal techniques? Are you an expert to say this?

  • woah spazz much

    techniques aren't everything to singing

the most important thing is to enjoy it or you'll have no emotion into the song

and having it just flow thru u is pretty important too

  • Right, singing techniques aren't everything... Passion is more important as in any other career. It boost your self esteem and drives you to do things successfully .

...But provided you know how to sing. Even how gifted you are, without proper voice lesson or techniques, you may end up abusing your voice and might damage your vocal chords in the process. Therefore, you must learn how to control your voice and put it into proper application, that's where singing techniques comes in.

  • my voice is fine

    even without with the techniques

  • Then show us your professional singing voice. Let us hear if you are competent enough to be another singing diva like Mariah Carey or Celine Dion.

Singing Techniques applies to most professional singers.

Maybe, you can get away with singing techniques if you're just singing in the privacy of your home, or you're not serious enough in singing. But if you are a pro, you must know the different types of voices, how to render your vocal range. Most of this techniques is much like speech lesson.

  • i think vocal technique is the most important part in singing, doesn't matter if you're an opera singer, a jazz or pop or rock singer. A lot of people get blown away by singers like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion and try to sing like them when they do not realize how many years of vocal training these professional singers have had. Of course, a qualified teacher is the other essential part in order to feed the proper techniques to the student(s).

  • I agree with your point if view. I am actually a self- student and have been tho some singing lessons. The strongest element to me to contribute to opera singing is actually the singing tecnique. I like the tips you mention here and I agree and use them all. I would like to ask you for your opinion on Alfredo Kraus tecnquine. Have you heard or listened to hi him? His breathing and voice usage was out of this world. Any advice on that? Thanks and keep up the good work.

  • It's a great video for beginners. I'm looking for tips on how to sing because i play guitar and like to sing along. Does anyone know how smoking cigarettes affects your voice. Can i still learn how to sing like a pro?

  • In the tissues of the respiratory tract, cigarette smoke provokes effects similar to those of inflammation: redness, swelling, increased mucus production, and thickening of the surface lining or mucosa. Both the smoke particles and the heat of the inhaled fumes appear to damage the mucosa. Singers who smoke have harsh breathy voice and loss of clarity in their upper range. Smoking reduces normal breathing capacity. The decrease in air flow due to bronchial constriction impairs vocal performance.

  • Thanks for the tip. Im gonna try to not smoke before i sing and reduce smoking all together. I play a lot of beatles and have a hard time hitting some of the high notes. Do you have any suggestions? thnx alot

  • Failure to hit high notes were caused by several factors. Improper breathing due to nervousness, air blockage to the throat because of improper placement of the teeth and tongue, wrong mouth opening, throaty (or croaky) production of voice.

In singing, it is important first to correct your posture to do good diaphragmatic breathing to sustain air. Then be sure that your tongue do not block the air passage. Your tongue should be at the back of your teeth at most, unless you have to enunciate.

  • Yes, you can still learn how to sing regardless of your age. Developing your singing voice is just a matter of practice, with the aid of singing techniques that is best suited for you.

Good singing were just a state of the mind - If you are confident and persevere that you can have your good voice by practice and training, you already gained 50% of your ticket to your singing career. 25% falls into your singing technique, 15% to your hearing as your learning instrument, and 10% to discpline

  • Pink smokes. Shes A good singer but im not saying that you'll get as good as pink,But its best to find A VOCAL teacher.

  • There are singers who drink and smoke. I personally knew a popular vocalist in our country who drinks a lot of hard beverages even in front of her audiences during gigs. Rockers can get away with, there are no standard vocal styles when it comes to Rock Music. Even the harshest voice can be considered nice.

But Ballads, Classical, Mellow Pop and Standard music are different. In general, singers who usually do head tones, those with classified voice as tenor, alto, etc. must not drink or smoke.

  • She should take real vocal lessons herself with correct internal mouth position, proper "coppertura" exercises, support and breath management, register connections an so on. Too primary.

  • Your call to study "copertura exercise" (it is spelled as "copertura" and not "coppertura") is too technical to be covered IN this YouTube tutorial.

"Copertura" or THROAT PROTECTION is usually practiced by male singers, and common in most classical tenors.

In this tutorial, Prof. Jai teaches Pop/ Balad music, there's little risk in damaging your vocals. I had a book on enunciation and mouth opening/ tounge placement, this is not covered in this tutorial. "Copertura" is for advanced study.

  • See the video info: I stated there that this is just a SIMPLE SINGING TECHNIQUES lesson. Don't complicate things, this video is meant only for beginners, not for you if you are in advanced vocal studies.

This video is just a basic technique understandable to all those who never had in their life any formal singing lessons. If you want more elaborate vocal techniques, enroll in voice lesson course.

  • After she corrected both their postures, the sound they produced was a lot better :)

  • Yes, correct posture is the key to proper diaprahgmic breathing. Try belting out while you're slouching, I bet you can't sustain notes no matter how hard or deep you breathe...

  • 'Belting' is a bad idea at the best of times. It gives no understanding of connectedness between the voices. I therefore don't belt!

  • Actually, it does. Belting can be done in head voice or chest voice.

  • Yeah, if you like chest voice scream-singing this is great. Not for classical singers.

  • I clearly hear head voice from both students, actually.. its more like a mix but I definitely hear it. Albeit its not full head voice but its definitely there.

  • Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.

  • those vitamin c realy work??

    i wonder?

  • Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is one of the most highly publicized yet least understood of all vitamins. It has no physiological significance, but is the commonly used term synonymous to strong body resistance. What Prof. Aracama was saying is that you should take balanced diet and exercise to stay strong and fit to sing. We get vitamins from foods, Beverages, Our bodies - vitamin K comes from bacteria in our intestines and vitamin D is produced with the help of ultraviolet radiation on the skin.

  • She's pro. I would take lessons from her.

I'm sorry, but there's a lot of black area and unknowing stuff in that video, what's really happening, when we're singing ! Some things are right, but what's happening in 5.25 with girl? Teacher didn't know. But the problem was in support, why teacher didn't say that? She just smile and okey, let's take that again.
