Ok people are very stupid here! Issac did not take off his helmet on purpose, he was controlled or mind controlled by the Marker. The Marker made Issac take off his helmet and think that his dead girlfriend is stabbing him, but it was really him that's doing that. His helmet isn't unbreakable, seeing how Stoss deactivates it when he's trying to take Isaac's eye out. The puker and tripod also yank off his helmet when he dies from them and many things in Dead Space will slice right through your helmet and kill you.

Also, Isaac deactivated his helmet because the Marker was trying to make him commit suicide by sticking the styringe in his eye, but he saw it as his dead girlfriend trying to get vengeance on him.

I would suggest that you get Dead Space 1 and 2 because they're really good games and I wouldn't want to spoil them for anyone. The Marker is a powerful object that creates the aliens that are seen in Dead Space 1 and 2, and is tormenting Isaac with visions of his dead girlfriend. His girlfirend died before the first game because she killed herself.

This is also on Xbox 360 and PC, so if you have those consoles, then I highly recommend this game. If you might get the game, then don't watch too many Dead Space videos, because some contain spoilers and will ruin the experience when you get to that part (happened to me when I got Dead Space 1 lol)
