He knows what angles his linemates are coming in from and the angles of the goaltenders in their crease so he knows when to pass the puck or shoot it in order to score or assist. He is a genius on the ice. The most entertaining hockey player to watch in todays NHL.

I watch every Pittsburgh game and the little things that Crosby does comes natural to him. 90% of the time when Crosby is on the ice you know something is going to happen in favour of the Pens. That is why he is on a 21 game point streak and the team is competing for first place in the Eastern Conference.

If you look at the standings from last year, The Capitals had 54 wins, 15 losses, and 13 OT losses. What the Capitals lack is a good goaltender, so you can't really go by achievements until you take the entire team into account, not to mention matchups.

I would much rather have the guy who'll go out, hit, grind, shoot, pass, and get back on Defense, then a guy who...shoots. Crosby makes his team better by encouraging them and setting the tempo. The Russian Olympic team failed to do anything because they were bickering. Everybody, Kovalchuk ,Ovi, etc. Nobody leads like The Kid.
