Can anybody tell me if spearfishing is allowed in Phillipines? Meaning, at the aairport they allow me to transport spearguns into ?

Where can i get informations about this issue ?

halo guys i used to spearfishing when i go home in Bohol, i use a homemade spear gun, i usually used square type rubber and it got easily tear-off for the span of one month, just wanna ask where can i buy a round rubber . help is deeply appreciated. thanks

hi i havnt heard or him here there is not much spearos like us here in davao but there are some scuba divers who spearfish here in davao i dnt know freedivers here in davao that really do unless some locals known as badjaos heheheheh, by the way im erwin uy and im a local frediver here and wanna learn from you guys ^^

my mom's side of the family are from argao last name is mier, I'm coming in august of 2010 maybe we can meet up, if you now da mendez family that lives by the bridge going to argao , just passing through bagacay there's the rice fields and the bongoos or shrimp farm on the left you can't miss it my best friends house is right next to the bridge in the rice fields next to the river he is da best diver in cebu and my best friend there his name is junjun mendez talk to him and we go from there.

yup i recognice the but right now i live in city of cebu but i often go to argao to go soearfish with my friends they local fisherman in argao by the im from looc argao near mahayahay beach resort

there's no spearfishing clubs or spearfishing operators there have to make friends with the locals from the local towns for me wasn't a problem because I go almost every year and my wife are from there too. My best friend there has dive gear speargun his well equipped ,where you plan to go that video was all on cebu philippines, if you want his number I can give it to you.

I was more os less aware of that, because from 1989 to 1999 I went almost every year to live aboards but for scuba.

I return to macau in 2007 ( working ) but I didn´t return to philippines.

I have my own complete equipment, including spearfishing wood guns ( i fabricate them... ) so the only thing I need is the weigths and someone that I can trust.

So, I appreciate if you can give me those contacts.

@PREISMAC try contacting wdafert, he teaches freediving and is the sole distributor of trygons speargun (i think) here in the philippines. i`m form bicol and i freedive and spearfish too with homemade speargun just like what the locals use...... btw try searching youtube for spearfishing cebu Philippines... :)

re: no spearfishing clubs... there are no clubs exactly but I know loads of people who spearfish in Cebu, Mactan and Moalboal. Nice fish and video ;-)
