these are so gross, i get them often but they are very easy to get out with just your finger....press your finger below the area and just press up, then come right out. i only get them on one side. i brush twice a day, whiten my teeth and just mouth wash but i still always get it on one side. I can feel it immediately and remove it.

Our tonsils have holes in them aptly named tonsil crypts, and these crypts trap bacteria and food particles, allowing the bacteria to grow and form the plaque-like mass called a tonsilith. EVERYONE and i mean absolutely EVERYONE has gotten at least one tonsil stone in their life (unless tonsils were removed very early) whether or not the realize it. alot of them are hard to see and go away on their own but everyone gets them. they're supposed to happen but they're supposed to come out on their own. sometimes they just get stuck and thats when this happens

I have hypothyroidism disease so for me they are genetic because hypothyroidism disease is a birth defect passed on through genetics.. but I am for for every one it is not genetic. Its odd - for me, they dont smell at all - only when i mush them or pierce them open they smell like really bad under-the-nail foot cheese that forms under toe nails. It also smelt like semi-matured faeces. Not good.
