you probably have your guitar in a different tuning, or, your strumming open then hammering on to the 4th n 6th frets, dont hammer on, try and strum the open and the 4th n 6th frets, and try palm muting after each part (if u dont know what it is type it in on youtube for a tutorial)

once your guitar is in standard tuning then play your 4th string and 6th string at the same time. youll hear some vibrating in the tone and tune your 6th down so it doesnt clash with the 4th strings tone.

As far as the amp goes man,its a basic set up. I personally roll the bass and treb to max and add some mid. Just play with the knobs.

Squires are so so. just depends how you set them up. But I also slapped a Detonator humbucke rin the bridge of mine. I also have a warlock with the same pickup in bridge and locking keys.Neither plays over my King V ESP, but they are good.
