I hate to say it but Ron Paul is NOT a silver bullet that will solve all...otherwise we would have been grateful to a pointless congressman for doing nothing but standing on his personal soapbox screaming! He should visit his doctor about his Parkinsons though...he's got the shakes!! LOL!
ANGLO AMERICAN WORLD POWER- Daniel 8:23-25 (New Century Ver.).
"When the end comes..., a bold and cruel king who tells lies will come. This will happen when many people have turned against God. This king will be very powerful, but his power will not come from himself. He will cause terrible destruction and will be successful in everything he does. He will think he is very important... will destroy powerful people ....will succeed by using lies and force.... will destroy many without warning;"
A question for Ron Paul. If you really believe that things are that bad and getting worse, why don't you engage in civil disobedience? Use your national name to draw attention to these issues.
Of course, you'd get arrested, tasered and treated like s**t by the cops. On the other hand, isn't that more effective than the usual "Inside the Beltway" interviews?
@whereismybailouttv the media would just portray him as good politician gone nutty. Ron Paul would be going against the US government, a government that is in the pockets of powerful and wealthy bankers/Corporations
Mr president stage is set please hurry we cannot hold up to much longer 9 Trillion may just make it for a few more months Hurry and con those prostitutes as quick as you can- Shit forgot to bring home the troops and that birth-er thing can be taken care of easily I think
2 years ago, I didn't give Ron Paul much credit. I'm sorry to say it, but he didn't come across very well in our sound byte television culture. I WAS VERY WRONG. Ron Paul has been one of only a few people who have been trying to warn us all along. Now it appears as if it is too late. Get ready for some big bad changes in Amerika!
When it comes to work, I'm a conscientious objector. I can't consciously give over my earned money for the government to do what they are doing with it. I will, however, work every day to take myself further out of the system.
shut the f#*@ up snow. Im not wasting ANYMORE time w u. Ron obviously doesnt live in a basement, he does make a living probably unlike you. What do u do anyway. I work my butt off everyday @ work and take great pride in it. Idc if u work @ mcdonalds, if u work hard at it u can achieve and move onto something better.
@BudSoda02 Nope, I work for a historical society that finds and reserves items of historical importance , and I'm also a high member of a union, which I was elected to by fellow employees. I make an average of 79k a year, by myself and I make sure that even the lowest members of our organization has access to good pay and health care.
See, you just fall into the stereotype, if I disagree with you, then you think I'm some poor person who wants a handout. Only a dickhead thinks like that.
snow- ur spellings not the greatest either. Its just yt get over urself. Besides why would i trust a govt that couldnt even run cash for clunkers w my hc? Ur idealogy is totally bogus. I pretty much agree w dole. Why should i pay for a system thatll be a total failure when ANYONE who cant afford it can walk into an er for free!?
Because it's the right thing to do or you lack all human emotion?
See Ron Paul breeds this Idea of "individualism", but it's not, it's selfishness in a political form. When you refuse those who are citizens of your country, then who do you let in? It's another from of Racism against poor people, your creating an unfair stereotype by saying their all lazy. Everyone deserves medicine and good health.
So you have to be one ultra-egoist dickhead to believe in Ron Paul's economics.
@snowwolf7777 i understand what u mean. it is difference in philosophy, however. you say everyone is responsible for everyone... in which case no one is free. i say we are only responsible for ourselves, in which case we are "more free" i'll say "more free" so i dont get flung into a debate over the word freedom.
@snowwolf7777 if you would give me an example of my liberty interfering with yours, im sure thers a law punishing me for whatever situation you come up with. law, government, its there to prevent just that kind of shit. the government should be limited to protecting liberties. that is my idea and i find it completely logical
@margoliesmedia then who do they protect, if I put out a sign on a billboard that say's "We should kill all atheist', then in libertarian ideology then the government can't stop me or how about when I have an agreement with a business, and the business refuses to honor it, so then business bribes my suppliers refuse to provide me with material i need to be competitive. so what will you do?
@snowwolf7777 read the constitution, figure out on your own what inflation really is, and then you may agree with some, but not all, libertarian ideals.
@snowwolf7777 I'm sick of wasting my time w you. This healthcare will only ensure those who actually need treatment don't get it and the scam artists and people who will go to the er for a sore throat will choke the system. Pure bs snow. You may go jerk off w/ your little liberal buddies now. Your just an idiot who's never going to get it good day to you jerk.
@margoliesmedia Lol, Inflation and liberty are not connected. Mass government spend can help business for not only short term ,but also for the long term.
For example, the Federal government invented the Internet, Jet engines, cures for some many illness, even fucking glow sticks. The economic opportunity that comes from the federal government will be shattered in libertarian economics.
Because everything we make will be outsourced to china, and Ron Paul will not stop the free market.
The "Free" market was full of cheap, easy money from years of low interest rates from the FED. This is what caused the residential and commercial mortgage bubbles (and numerous other bubbles in the past). How can you call it the "free" market when we have so much govt intervention?
Granted we should have some regulations to protect the environment, securities investors, and child laborers, but central economic planning to the extent that we have now is going to cripple us.
@Me9231 I rather propose minor economic planing for new areas of industry (solar power, dams...ext) and have the gradually turn over to the privet section. This way we can create the foundation of a strong business that well be able to run independently and generate profit without harming cutting corners or damning the economic or natural environment.
@snowwolf7777 Oh come now. What free market? Free markets reign in Somalia more so than in the USA. So how is one free if unable to own their labor, skills or knowledge? When the government determines how much you can keep, how you can spend, and where to stand in line, then you have crossed over from freedom to fascism.
@jimmyjoe1975 lol, paying taxes is not a link to fascism. Society must come as one, We need to understand the weakness in our material value and currency. Therefor, we must do all in our power to create a society that promotes the intellectual advancements of man, while protecting his human welfare and rights. Including Education, Health care, Food, Housing, Safety from both Physical and Mental harm and, a Clean and Attractive environment to share.
@snowwolf7777 I did not say taxes = fascism. The problem is that socialists fail to acknowledge value, and how to determine that value. Yes, there are European nations that can be pointed to as having 'good' economies and provide services to its people (quality apparently of no concern). But still, we are only talking about a very short history with 'successful' socialism, although employment rates are telling. My point of view states that fiat money and false value have short shelf lives.
@jimmyjoe1975 Actually you did, you but your spin on it. by saying that the government is taking your money, even though it's same government that create the environment to make your own fortune and fought for your right to do so and in return you refuse to give nothing back? isn't that selfish?
See, that was a spin.
I'm arguing that small government will not fix the problem, strong and effective government will.
I respect Ron Paul, thought I wonder about some of is Allies to the GOP.
@snowwolf7777 Define "the problem" that needs solving by a Strong/Effective government...the truth of the matter is that individuals will always face problems. It is the COST of living. But individuals have shown to be capable of solving them when left to their own devices and personal connections. When individuals rely on a distant figure, they become incapable and dependent. And when people fall on hard times? The charity of Catholic and Mormon churches know no bounds.
@jimmyjoe1975 "the problem" is your words, I'm thinking about the survival of the human race and the advancement of technology in the long run. Life is hard cruel and hard for many reasons, it's been so since the plague but that's no excuse for us to stop curing diseases of humanity. I'm not promising a utopia, but a system of individual working towards a single goal.
Your labeling my creation with terms of the 20th century, but my invention of a system is beyond words right now.
@snowwolf7777 Life was easy before the plague? But you are misled if you think government cures disease or advances technology. But that is a whole different argument.
What single goal? Is it worth forcing people to work together towards this goal? Libertarians (not the beltway types) operate under the idea of no force. A world without force would be utopia. People work together to obtain personal goals...through mutual voluntary exchange. WIll it happen? No. But better than force.
@jimmyjoe1975 besides, aren't you being hypocritical? Relying on a church for help, is the same as relying on the government. Government is in the public domain.
@snowwolf7777 Oh no, no, no. Asking for help is actually virtuous. Admitting such a need takes strength...better than robbing someone. But a church raises money through voluntary donations. So all those free Catholic churches prior to the 70s gave free health care for those in need. Governments raise money through threat of force, or force if needed, and then redistribute it to corporate interests, all disguised as altruistic welfare.
@jimmyjoe1975 Actual the Catholic church used money to pay for lawyer suit for protection of their own sexual abuse. I'm a Catholic ,but you think the church can be trusted with the health care of a nation is ridicules,
The government is a tool used for the people and is given to us as tax payers,it is not a charity or handout. Aren't you being ridicules and saying that they take money for you. Considered what people have given up so that YOU can earn that fortune, it's a small price to pay
@snowwolf7777 No more than I trust the government. Government is a tool was the most poignant statement you have made in this debate. But not for the 'people'. Anyone who believes it is either employed by the government or needs to expand their personal library.
People who make a lot of money typically have given up much. Those who are born with silver spoons don't actually pay much in taxes. But those who work 16-hr days for years putting together a business are the ones who are harmed.
@jimmyjoe1975 and now we agree, I want to reform this government to tax the rich and actual provide for it's people. Think of what the government can do or has done. From putting a man on the moon too provide us with what we now call the internet.
@snowwolf7777 And government has never been capable of doing so without being in bed with corporations. You fail to see that. The only other way is to take control of industry and that did not work well the Soviet model. Also, you may be entranced by short-term 'successes' but you have never seen such a model you propose succeed for a 100 years. And what value was putting a man on the moon, other than penis envy? Tax productive people and you starve those you champion.
@jimmyjoe1975 their is a third way, One were corporations are cheeked and mandated by the government. Without them conforming to the soviet model. Europe has been doing it for awhile and it's time we created an American Cooperate reform.
@snowwolf7777 @snowwolf7777 Thanks for keeping it friendly. A anticapitalist antigovt type just went ballistic on me after a couple weeks worth of parlay.
My point on Europe's example again is that there is a short history. Government mandates equates to government-corporate partnerships. Those shaking hands make off like bandits, but everyone else is limited to a contrived potential. Plus there is the problem with fiat currency, but that is another discussion.
@jimmyjoe1975 It's my philosophy as a liberal that I should respect everyone that has their own views and opinions, and that getting angry at them over it is a childish response at best.
I understand, but that why I argue transparency between the CEO, the Union and the Government. They must work together in an open form to all, to find the most profitable way to succeed while understanding the needs of the workers, while government see how it can help without or little intervention.
@snowwolf7777 I just don't think that everyone needs to understand the ins/outs of my selling a used tv to my neighbor. Yes, I do extrapolate that large corporations wheeling and dealing crappy pieces of paper. The same can be said for free speech...when some entity has the power to draw the line, eventually we all lose.
Of course my point of corporations shuffling trillions of dollars around is again only enabled by the coercive government MANDATED fiat currency.
@jimmyjoe1975 yes, but it would be nice to prove to your neighbor that your TV works and has warranty, personally individual transactions is below the federal and state government. I'm talking about industry and massive business.
@snowwolf7777 Only if the purchaser of the TV demands it. And if warranty is withheld, the purchaser assumes risk. Just like the big boys...except of course that government allows or assists in big corporation theft/malfeasance. Enron was a case in point, though many of your 'kind' think it was lack of regulation that allowed the Enron fiasco. Quite the opposite.
Unfortunately, the layers of bad policy are thick and the masses will never really understand what caused what. We are sliding..
@crispymidget Socialism is a 20th century ideology. I'm just arguing against having all the wealth controlled by a certain group. One thing Adam Smith and Karl Marx both agreed on is that when all the wealth is centered with a single group then it because Tyranny. That's why they invented or created their economic ideas. Adam Smith want the wealth to be in the market to be divide among the business and traders. Marx believed since everyone contributes , it should belong to everyone.
@crispymidget The rich get it too easy in America, they have, cooperate welfare and they can dodge the income tax by set up in the Cayman Islands.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the rich and don't want to punish them, I only want them to pay their fair in taxes like the rest of us. This is because if they control the majority of the wealth then they can do what ever they want. They can buy the government with lobbyist to gain access to our tax dollars and spend it for their own means.
@crispymidget I am afraid I must agree with snowwolf. I worked for a company in SF '99-'09 that strictly catered to the ultra wealthy. My job designing and furnishing their properties entirely meant that I was in home often with my clients and some jobs lasted a year or two. To do the best job I needed to develop a close relationship with them and during many hours was privy to more personal info than I sometimes prefered. I was surprised to be told by many of them that they did not pay taxes...
@snow im on a cell here so thats why i put everything in txt format not all of us have grt internet access b4 u go questioning my intelligence at lst ive got the common sense to know this admins agenda is goin to screw us all!
ur right dole it doesnt work. Wolf do u only listen to the 'driveby' media outlets? Every other country that has single payer govt run hc is a failure! Long waiting times ppl live in excruciating pain etc. Why do u think that premier came here to get hc? Its bc we have free choice wo ridiculous 6mo to 2yr waiting periods!
Also, Britain, for example, is basically out of money. Their line of credit is as extended as ours is and they haven't spent near as much money on stimulus and the wars as we have. Single Payer HC is a total boondoggle, doomed to a death like the Soviet Union.
some of you just don't get it. snowwolf you've just been blinded by the libs who keep feeding you bs. REAL reform is neded not govt takeovers we ARE heading into a 2nd great depression if we don't stop this path of destruction that the libs are on. Guys lk Ron Paul can lead the way, but we each need to stand up for what we believe in true feedom! the american way! We're not Europe this is america a place many immigrants come to dreaming of freedom from overzealous govt!
Haha thats funny. You really think Ron Paul is out and about working to eliminate your civil rights?
Ron Paul is one of the few congressman who truly believe in civil rights. Tell me, what civil rights does he want to take away from you. What bills has he supported/introduced to take away your rights?
the part about the wars is correct. A lot of the 9/11 truthers out there came to their suspicion because they simply follow the money. Auditing the Fed is a push that will find out who has profited from the domestic and foreign budget we finance instead of save up for and then spend.
You have to learn how the 10.2% is gotten. It is based on the number of people on unemployment, with very faulty and horrid estimation methods. The problem is, if you are not eligible for unemployment, or have a part-time job, your not counted. You have no idea how many people watched their retirement get cut in half, or more. Are stuck in mortgages at higher value than their homes, and are delivering pizza now to help pay bills while the saving they have left continue to disappear.
And you have to note these people have families and bills like their mortage they can't just drop, or selling their home requires paying the bank money, bc the value of the home is less than what the mortgage is due to the financial bubble of fake prosperity the government created. Talking about people with bills and kids in college setup for a 200K income, but delivering pizza now. The economy is not getting better, and the dollars we have are worth less, cost of living is going up bc of Gov.
I'm asking Your GOD ron paul to cite his sources, the ecconmy is going to pick up by 2011. That's a legitment estiment, but I want to know about how to deal with staying competative without education funding.
He is not my God. He just happens to be the only man in D.C. who is honest, and knows his stuff. This man sticks to principle and never falters. A true rarity unfortunately in politics. The USD is dropping in value like a dead fly, and it is the stimulus and other spending causing it. When the Federal Reserve prints more money, without taking the same amount out of circulation, all the money we have is worth less.
There is a slight delay in market reaction to it, but no way around it. Cost of living goes up, what you already have, and your current income, is worth less. That is inflation in a nutshell. Government is systemically crushing the economy, either they are too dumb to know it, or do know what they are doing and are evil as hell.
aw, your so cute to think the free market is perfect. News flash, privet business expand and grow to from trust. Then they control prices and nobody can stop them in libertarian economics.
price control in the free market is inherent in the organic nature of business growth. if prices is too high, cunsumer's move to another source. if we never had the progressive's lining law makers pockets in around the turn of the 20th century, then corps like they are today would never exist, it was nit allowed originally. the Rockefeller family paid currupt lawmakers to change it. most of our problems progressives caused by elite lining their pockets, and running propaganda campaigns.
Well A) The people your expecting to, have no authority to do so. Read the constitution please. And second, you traveling down a sliding slope where government can tell people what to do in business, that is called Fascism. Where the state tells businesses and/or people what to do with their own money and property. Which really if you think about it makes it all the State's property, it isn't really owned by you if you don't have full control over it. And btw if your going to just troll...
when people become over fanatic about a human it usually creates a religion.
I've study constitutional law, so don't try to play I'm an expert about the Constitution. Your playing on the "cult of the Constitution".. basically you just hand pick what you like and throw out parts you don't.. mostly the parts that admen it.
As of 1900's people have the right to play a direct role in election, Ron Paul is being used and funded by the conservatives to get you idiots.
What you fail to understand kind troll, is that we like Ron Paul bc he is honest, and I personally am a VERY strict constitutional conservative. If it ain't in the constitution, or is restricted or banned in the constitution including the Bill of Rights, then the Federal Government is not legally doing it. Plain and simple. I like seeing someone in Congress fighting to restore our republic. The progressives have done so much damage it may take time, but we WILL get it done. Troll on my friend.
@trepidity23 I didn't think the founding fathers designed the Constitution to take power away from the people.
All the constitution says about government is that it should have limits on power, it has nothing on how big the government can be or what role government should have on day to day life. Because the Founders couldn't agree on this, some of our founders even wanted a welfare state.
Labeling people trolls just because they disagree with you is something only a weak person would do.
Actually, the constitution explicitly grants powers and abilities to the Federal Government. And quite specifically I might add. All power not given to the Federal Government as explicitly stated in the constitution is given to the states or the people. You tell me what that means.
Also, welfare states and frankly, non-Austrian economics always fail anyway so its sort of a non-issue. I hate to sound like an ass, but we either start being free people with a free economy, or we are all screwed.
Free economic always fail too, nobody is happy and leads to revolution, for example the provisional government in Russia after the over throw of the Czar. It was true libertarianism and it was elected out by Lenin.
That's right, after several year's rule under libertarianism, rather switch to Communism.
I hate to intrude with the facts, but the Bolsheviks were not free market libertarians. The Russian revolution was Marxist from the beginning. The Russian Social Democratic Labour Party dates back to the 1880's in fact. The Bolsheviks were nothing more than militant marxists.
Anyway, the Russian revolution was a "people's revolution." It was not an INDIVIDUAL'S revolution.
Its actually sort of ridiculous to claim that Bolshevism is a free market Libertarian system. I mean, how can you believe in the state ownership of the means of production and call that free market, libertarian?
Sure it wasn't called communism at the time, but it sure as hell was socialist, it sure as hell wasn't libertarian.
Of course the Bolsheviks weren't free market! but the Provisional government was , It was so weak and useless. the Provisional government was a basic liberaltarin Republic set up after the Revolution, but before it was overthrown by lenin.
Show me some evidence of this magic provisional non-marxist failed system.
Also, just because everyone sold out to the party that started the revolution and gave up thier personal and economic freedom does not actually mean free markets and classical liberalism failed.
What is the rationale for this collectivism anyway? Personally, I think if you want to go live in a Marxist community, you can, but I DON'T HAVE TO.
What gives the collective the right to enslave individuals? Shouldn't lifestyle choices be left to the individual?
I mean, in a truly Libertarian, free market system, anyone can live in whatever economic system they want, so as long as it is not forced on anyone else. You can live with communists, I don't have to.
Essentially, the argument between Libertarianism and all other forms of government is a question of authority. Does the government, be it of the people or of a dictator have the 'divine' right to enslave other individuals? That is the question.
Personally, I think if individuals were meant to live in slavery and bondage, we'd all get along a lot better.
@bobdole57 you paulTards love to talk, to bad you never listen. I never said I supported communism, but Libertarianism is so flawed, that people actual went for communism then Libertarianism
If you don't like Libertarianism, call it anarchism without adjectives if you want, I don't care.
The simple fact is, all forms of Government are flawed since they very existence of a government implies an involuntary submission to power. And we know that power corrupts.
@bobdole57 please, intellectualism as a political philosophy is the belief of that every man, women and child has the right to civil rights, civil liberties and free, accessibility and quality education to all persons.
Intellectual in my context means: "An intellectual is a person who uses intelligence (thought and reason) and analytical thinking, either in a professional or a personal capacity."
@bobdole57 yes, but that's why I said Political Philosophy, learn to read and analytical think before you respond to an argument. Like an intellectual
Well if I didn't need to clarify what I meant, why did you bother telling me what intellectualism (phil.) is?
Why would I possibly give a flying shit what intellectualism means as a political philosophy unless you were trying to tell me I was wrong with my use of the term?
@bobdole57 I like democratic federalism, hate me for it, but It's a great system. If you want to play Ayn Rand Economics, go create a small scale model that we can uses, don't preach to us about paul how he going to fix everything by doing nothing, because i don't want to throw away my befits for an untested theory,
democratic federalism as in a full unconstrained democracy? If thats the case, thats essentially mob rule.
Ayn Rand economics isn't an untested religious theory. Like I said before, you have the right to free association. You can collect and associate with whomever you want. You could create a community based on your beliefs and ultimately succeed and be the most popular.
And for the record, all political ideologies are going to sound like religions to those who don't subscribe to the same beliefs.
Thats because they are all belief systems. There is no real science behind political systems. Some people think Monarchies are the way to go, others believe in pure democracy. All belief systems.
My belief system, as much as you seem to disagree, stresses individualism and freedom. I am my own master.
hypocrite! you propagate Freedom, but you believe freedom for yourself. Your afraid of the people, it' speak the truth of libertarianism. If your so called free republica can't even trust power to it's citizens then it's just an aristocracy.
In FD their is protection of law for both the Majority and the Minority. Name one country in which liberatarins has worked, none.
I'm not a hypocrite. I believe in the freedom of the individual, not the collective.
I do not people as a collective have the rights to coerce and force others to do things. I do not believe in a collective right to take the rights away from individuals.
You have an individual right to live life as you choose, you do not have a collective right to make ME live the life YOU choose.
I'd like to know where you got your degree in self righteousness. I mean, how can you possibly think that it is oppressive or non-free or whatever to deny your right to take other's rights?
Isn't a main purpose of government to protect liberty? A pure mob rule democracy could vote away any individuals rights or freedoms with a simple majority. There is no liberty there.
A collective group can't violate an individual's rights. Simple as that.
Its always funny how progressives and neoconservatives like to give robbery, coercion and sometimes murder the happy face of Government and that makes it all ok.
Just because you think you have a right to something I have, doesn't mean you get to have it. Thats just the way it is. Democracy as it is popularly portrayed is a joke. Its mob rule. A mob wants something, they take it.
@bobdole57 Perfect example why libertarian is flawed, it creates a dictatorship, In Federal Democracy laws protect the civil rights of both the Majority and the Minority, In libertarianism, their is no civil rights, only civil liberaty's allowing the powerful to imposing their will on others. Play Bioshock, it proves why libertarianism can't work.
btw, looked up the post-revolution government yet?
Incase you haven't noticed, Ron Paul is a constitutionalist. He believe in protecting the rights of individuals with a limited government. He personally doesn't advocating having no laws at all.
And in a practical sense, I don't either. I wrote a paper about this once, maybe I should send it to you. Might be easier.
@bobdole57 No, he's a self centered asshole who doesn't give a shit about anybody, just like yourself. If the people want a single payer health care system and better services the only people holding them back are the ignorant basters who let a child die in the street then pay extra in taxes.
when the economy recovers watch how quickly ron paul supports dies.
Im telling you you can have anything you want, so as long as you aren't stealing it from me, or anyone else for that matter.
Personal liberty is not a hard concept, why do you keep trying to twist it around. Liberty is a personal thing, if you have to take from someone else, its not liberty anymore.
I bet you are one of the people who claim health care is a right, would I be correct?
@bobdole57 Now we have an impasse, Were do we go from here, both of us, don't want to violet each others right, but either way were going to collide and argue
, It's only health care..... just like fire, police and library's. It's suppose to be a public service, something not meant to make money off of, but we do ad that is truly sick. You can still run a business or a shop, but the doctors belong to the people, i never met a good doctor who practices just to make a lot of money.
The problem with declaring something a right is that by doing that, you declare a right to a doctor's labor, and not just the doctor, but the janitors at the hospital, the nurses, the suppliers of medical goods, you declare a right to their labor.
The philosophical and legal consequences of doing that are extreme. What if we start to run low on doctors, if a doctor wants to quit, do you put a gun to their head and say no?
Anyways, I contend that it is impossible to declare a good or service a right without effective enslavement. If you have a right to my labor, I am a slave. If we have a right to a doctor's labor, an MRI machine manufacturers labor, they are, by the very definition, a slave.
Under most circumstances this may not be a practical issue, but if health care truly is a right, in the classic definition, slavery still exists in America.
Lol, I never liked guns, but we don't put guns on teachers when they want a raise, in fact we allow them to from unions, same with firefighters and police.
It would be a better system then we have now, anyone who is sick, could easily walk into a hospital, just right their name and date. and Just go in to get treated, no HMO's, Pre-E crap, no pointless paper work.
The problem with big government people is they fail to see the problems they create when they try to fix something.
Education, both k-12 and higher has been getting more and more expensive while quality has been slowly declining.
I think its really interesting that the bigger government gets, the more problems we have so the bigger government needs to get. Its sort of like a cancer.
I mean, do you honestly expect me to believe a bunch of congressman can pass a bill called "Improving Education for our Youth" and it will actually do that? What if it does the opposite due to unforeseen consequences?
@bobdole57 actual, the new reports say High school is getting better, but their suffering from neglect with idiots who cut education so they can give people tax cuts, every dollar towards education can generate 13 dollars of revenue.
government needs to be property organized not thrown together. Besides, it's the small state states government that run education, not the Federal government
That is totally contradictory to my experience. Money spent on education is expanding, in some cases rapidly, and quality is flat or declining in places.
Actually, in case you didn't notice, there is a US department of education and a special cabinet member for it. States also receive federal funds for education and are actually somewhat heavily regulated by the Feds.
And if you gave Austrian theory a fair shake, you'd know this is DETRIMENTAL (as shown by the evidence).
I wish we could all be as morally bankrupt as you.
You want freedom without responsibility. Freedom for yourself but not others.
If we all voted, democratically (just like you want), for Constitutional Libertarians you'd be bitching about that. Oh wait you are.
You are such a hypocrite. Everybody gets their say in a democracy just like you want, so as long as they agree with you. If they are libertarians, its somehow wrong.
@bobdole57 I never said you didn't have a say, I'm just making fun of how stupid your idea's are ( which I can freely do and if you try to stop me, uncle Sam has my back), no unity and constance individualism is going to lead to the most selfish and simpleminded society on earth. That's why nobody on earth wants a government like that.
First of all, just to clarify my position, I don't believe my ideas are incredibly stupid or even somewhat stupid. Just saying.
Secondly, as a person who believes in liberty and freedom, I would never try to stop you from having or voicing opinions. Thats not what we do even though you seem to think so. I might ask you to shut up, or insult you, but I sure as hell can't make you do anything. And thats fine.
PEOPLE ARE INDIVIDUALS! JUST BECAUSE YOU DISAGREE WITH THEM DOESN'T"T MEAN YOU CAN STOP THEM FROM VOTING. THEY HAVE GREAT SAY, THEN YOU "THE MINORITY"
Washington doesn't want Ron Paul in office because they know he'll stop the excess spending that has made everyone in politics rich and powerful.
(Most) politicians only care about keeping this house of cards standing for as long as they're on the planet. They could give two shits about what happens to it after they're gone.
Ron Paul represents a minority in Washington of politicians who have managed to remain selfless and clear-headed amidst their greedy, power-hungry associates.
cont:were completely screwed if this happens! Our economy is starting to affect theirs they too are running on nothing! Were heading to a 2nd grt depression within this decade if we dnt do something such ar ron paul suggests our 1st chance is this years election and then 2012 to throw obama and his radicals out of office!
@powerofbongos sry i meant toknow07 i looked at the wrong name damn im sry! But anyway there ppl from europe australia etc that say were lucky to have a politician lk ron paul who has common sense and honesty wtf wake up u liberal drones were repeating history again! Lk fdr and the other bozo jim carter wake up u fools this is no joke were bankrupt places/ppl lk the chinese are the only ones keeping us afloat! Theyve said and will cut off support!
@furyofbongos u could say the same thing about the experience of obama ur hurtin ur own cause by bringing up the 'nazi' thing just like some of the tea party ppl or 'teabaggers' that hurt that movement ur a bonehead man
He is a dictator - his pupets shut down freedom of speech by thumbing down, blocking, and cursing any comment, who dissagrees with his erotic theories!
Just like the NAZIS did 80 Years ago.
Other than nice speeches in congress, he Never "Ran" any office and has NO EXPERIANCE just like a child who shouts "we want freedom!".
He has no respect for the constitusion because he hates Minorities and Jews, and supports dictating countries!!
The picture that Congressman Paul is painting is a very accurate one. It is a picture of pure chaos. A chaos brought about by the existence of a group of people with the sanctioned right to the initiation of the use of force.
It is ironic to witness the reaction of most who in a knee-jerk way, react to the thought of a purely voluntary society, one free from the coercion of the state, with vivid images of chaos!

Because it's the right thing to do or you lack all human emotion?
See Ron Paul breeds this Idea of "individualism", but it's not, it's selfishness in a political form. When you refuse those who are citizens of your country, then who do you let in? It's another from of Racism against poor people, your creating an unfair stereotype by saying their all lazy. Everyone deserves medicine and good health.
So you have to be one ultra-egoist dickhead to believe in Ron Paul's economics.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 i understand what u mean. it is difference in philosophy, however. you say everyone is responsible for everyone... in which case no one is free. i say we are only responsible for ourselves, in which case we are "more free" i'll say "more free" so i dont get flung into a debate over the word freedom.

@margoliesmedia but what happens when your freedom interferes with my liberties, Then I'm being oppressed by the individual.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 if you would give me an example of my liberty interfering with yours, im sure thers a law punishing me for whatever situation you come up with. law, government, its there to prevent just that kind of shit. the government should be limited to protecting liberties. that is my idea and i find it completely logical
margoliesmedia 1 year ago
@margoliesmedia then who do they protect, if I put out a sign on a billboard that say's "We should kill all atheist', then in libertarian ideology then the government can't stop me or how about when I have an agreement with a business, and the business refuses to honor it, so then business bribes my suppliers refuse to provide me with material i need to be competitive. so what will you do?
snowwolf7777 1 year ago

BudSoda02 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 no, u have to believe in the idea of liberty. and YOU should look into mises economics ;)
margoliesmedia 1 year ago
@margoliesmedia Lol, Inflation and liberty are not connected. Mass government spend can help business for not only short term ,but also for the long term.
For example, the Federal government invented the Internet, Jet engines, cures for some many illness, even fucking glow sticks. The economic opportunity that comes from the federal government will be shattered in libertarian economics.
Because everything we make will be outsourced to china, and Ron Paul will not stop the free market.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777
The Federal Govt is managed by selfish politicians. I think the private sector has a much better track record of innovation and efficiency.
Once the Fed inflates our currency into oblivion, then perhaps China will outsource their work to the U.S. for CHEAP labor.
Me9231 1 year ago
@Me9231 Not true, your making crude presumptions, their are a lot of good people who fight to make sure Americans still have work
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@margoliesmedia bullshit, liberty has nothing to do with economics. The Free Market has failed America.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777
Me9231 1 year ago
@Me9231 I rather propose minor economic planing for new areas of industry (solar power, dams...ext) and have the gradually turn over to the privet section. This way we can create the foundation of a strong business that well be able to run independently and generate profit without harming cutting corners or damning the economic or natural environment.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 Oh come now. What free market? Free markets reign in Somalia more so than in the USA. So how is one free if unable to own their labor, skills or knowledge? When the government determines how much you can keep, how you can spend, and where to stand in line, then you have crossed over from freedom to fascism.
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@jimmyjoe1975 lol, paying taxes is not a link to fascism. Society must come as one, We need to understand the weakness in our material value and currency. Therefor, we must do all in our power to create a society that promotes the intellectual advancements of man, while protecting his human welfare and rights. Including Education, Health care, Food, Housing, Safety from both Physical and Mental harm and, a Clean and Attractive environment to share.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 I did not say taxes = fascism. The problem is that socialists fail to acknowledge value, and how to determine that value. Yes, there are European nations that can be pointed to as having 'good' economies and provide services to its people (quality apparently of no concern). But still, we are only talking about a very short history with 'successful' socialism, although employment rates are telling. My point of view states that fiat money and false value have short shelf lives.
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@jimmyjoe1975 Actually you did, you but your spin on it. by saying that the government is taking your money, even though it's same government that create the environment to make your own fortune and fought for your right to do so and in return you refuse to give nothing back? isn't that selfish?
See, that was a spin.
I'm arguing that small government will not fix the problem, strong and effective government will.
I respect Ron Paul, thought I wonder about some of is Allies to the GOP.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 Define "the problem" that needs solving by a Strong/Effective government...the truth of the matter is that individuals will always face problems. It is the COST of living. But individuals have shown to be capable of solving them when left to their own devices and personal connections. When individuals rely on a distant figure, they become incapable and dependent. And when people fall on hard times? The charity of Catholic and Mormon churches know no bounds.
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@jimmyjoe1975 "the problem" is your words, I'm thinking about the survival of the human race and the advancement of technology in the long run. Life is hard cruel and hard for many reasons, it's been so since the plague but that's no excuse for us to stop curing diseases of humanity. I'm not promising a utopia, but a system of individual working towards a single goal.
Your labeling my creation with terms of the 20th century, but my invention of a system is beyond words right now.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 Life was easy before the plague? But you are misled if you think government cures disease or advances technology. But that is a whole different argument.
What single goal? Is it worth forcing people to work together towards this goal? Libertarians (not the beltway types) operate under the idea of no force. A world without force would be utopia. People work together to obtain personal goals...through mutual voluntary exchange. WIll it happen? No. But better than force.
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@jimmyjoe1975 besides, aren't you being hypocritical? Relying on a church for help, is the same as relying on the government. Government is in the public domain.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 Oh no, no, no. Asking for help is actually virtuous. Admitting such a need takes strength...better than robbing someone. But a church raises money through voluntary donations. So all those free Catholic churches prior to the 70s gave free health care for those in need. Governments raise money through threat of force, or force if needed, and then redistribute it to corporate interests, all disguised as altruistic welfare.
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@jimmyjoe1975 Actual the Catholic church used money to pay for lawyer suit for protection of their own sexual abuse. I'm a Catholic ,but you think the church can be trusted with the health care of a nation is ridicules,
The government is a tool used for the people and is given to us as tax payers,it is not a charity or handout. Aren't you being ridicules and saying that they take money for you. Considered what people have given up so that YOU can earn that fortune, it's a small price to pay
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 No more than I trust the government. Government is a tool was the most poignant statement you have made in this debate. But not for the 'people'. Anyone who believes it is either employed by the government or needs to expand their personal library.
People who make a lot of money typically have given up much. Those who are born with silver spoons don't actually pay much in taxes. But those who work 16-hr days for years putting together a business are the ones who are harmed.
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@jimmyjoe1975 and now we agree, I want to reform this government to tax the rich and actual provide for it's people. Think of what the government can do or has done. From putting a man on the moon too provide us with what we now call the internet.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 And government has never been capable of doing so without being in bed with corporations. You fail to see that. The only other way is to take control of industry and that did not work well the Soviet model. Also, you may be entranced by short-term 'successes' but you have never seen such a model you propose succeed for a 100 years. And what value was putting a man on the moon, other than penis envy? Tax productive people and you starve those you champion.
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@jimmyjoe1975 their is a third way, One were corporations are cheeked and mandated by the government. Without them conforming to the soviet model. Europe has been doing it for awhile and it's time we created an American Cooperate reform.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 @snowwolf7777 Thanks for keeping it friendly. A anticapitalist antigovt type just went ballistic on me after a couple weeks worth of parlay.
My point on Europe's example again is that there is a short history. Government mandates equates to government-corporate partnerships. Those shaking hands make off like bandits, but everyone else is limited to a contrived potential. Plus there is the problem with fiat currency, but that is another discussion.
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@jimmyjoe1975 It's my philosophy as a liberal that I should respect everyone that has their own views and opinions, and that getting angry at them over it is a childish response at best.
I understand, but that why I argue transparency between the CEO, the Union and the Government. They must work together in an open form to all, to find the most profitable way to succeed while understanding the needs of the workers, while government see how it can help without or little intervention.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 I just don't think that everyone needs to understand the ins/outs of my selling a used tv to my neighbor. Yes, I do extrapolate that large corporations wheeling and dealing crappy pieces of paper. The same can be said for free speech...when some entity has the power to draw the line, eventually we all lose.
Of course my point of corporations shuffling trillions of dollars around is again only enabled by the coercive government MANDATED fiat currency.
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@jimmyjoe1975 yes, but it would be nice to prove to your neighbor that your TV works and has warranty, personally individual transactions is below the federal and state government. I'm talking about industry and massive business.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 Only if the purchaser of the TV demands it. And if warranty is withheld, the purchaser assumes risk. Just like the big boys...except of course that government allows or assists in big corporation theft/malfeasance. Enron was a case in point, though many of your 'kind' think it was lack of regulation that allowed the Enron fiasco. Quite the opposite.
Unfortunately, the layers of bad policy are thick and the masses will never really understand what caused what. We are sliding..
jimmyjoe1975 1 year ago
@snowwolf7777 tax the rich to provide for us?? hmm sounds socialist. nope. none of that.
crispymidget 1 year ago
@crispymidget Socialism is a 20th century ideology. I'm just arguing against having all the wealth controlled by a certain group. One thing Adam Smith and Karl Marx both agreed on is that when all the wealth is centered with a single group then it because Tyranny. That's why they invented or created their economic ideas. Adam Smith want the wealth to be in the market to be divide among the business and traders. Marx believed since everyone contributes , it should belong to everyone.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago
@crispymidget The rich get it too easy in America, they have, cooperate welfare and they can dodge the income tax by set up in the Cayman Islands.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the rich and don't want to punish them, I only want them to pay their fair in taxes like the rest of us. This is because if they control the majority of the wealth then they can do what ever they want. They can buy the government with lobbyist to gain access to our tax dollars and spend it for their own means.
snowwolf7777 1 year ago 5
@crispymidget I am afraid I must agree with snowwolf. I worked for a company in SF '99-'09 that strictly catered to the ultra wealthy. My job designing and furnishing their properties entirely meant that I was in home often with my clients and some jobs lasted a year or two. To do the best job I needed to develop a close relationship with them and during many hours was privy to more personal info than I sometimes prefered. I was surprised to be told by many of them that they did not pay taxes...

22%, were the hell is he geting this?
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
You have to learn how the 10.2% is gotten. It is based on the number of people on unemployment, with very faulty and horrid estimation methods. The problem is, if you are not eligible for unemployment, or have a part-time job, your not counted. You have no idea how many people watched their retirement get cut in half, or more. Are stuck in mortgages at higher value than their homes, and are delivering pizza now to help pay bills while the saving they have left continue to disappear.
trepidity23 2 years ago
And you have to note these people have families and bills like their mortage they can't just drop, or selling their home requires paying the bank money, bc the value of the home is less than what the mortgage is due to the financial bubble of fake prosperity the government created. Talking about people with bills and kids in college setup for a 200K income, but delivering pizza now. The economy is not getting better, and the dollars we have are worth less, cost of living is going up bc of Gov.
trepidity23 2 years ago
I'm asking Your GOD ron paul to cite his sources, the ecconmy is going to pick up by 2011. That's a legitment estiment, but I want to know about how to deal with staying competative without education funding.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
He is not my God. He just happens to be the only man in D.C. who is honest, and knows his stuff. This man sticks to principle and never falters. A true rarity unfortunately in politics. The USD is dropping in value like a dead fly, and it is the stimulus and other spending causing it. When the Federal Reserve prints more money, without taking the same amount out of circulation, all the money we have is worth less.
trepidity23 2 years ago
There is a slight delay in market reaction to it, but no way around it. Cost of living goes up, what you already have, and your current income, is worth less. That is inflation in a nutshell. Government is systemically crushing the economy, either they are too dumb to know it, or do know what they are doing and are evil as hell.
trepidity23 2 years ago
aw, your so cute to think the free market is perfect. News flash, privet business expand and grow to from trust. Then they control prices and nobody can stop them in libertarian economics.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
price control in the free market is inherent in the organic nature of business growth. if prices is too high, cunsumer's move to another source. if we never had the progressive's lining law makers pockets in around the turn of the 20th century, then corps like they are today would never exist, it was nit allowed originally. the Rockefeller family paid currupt lawmakers to change it. most of our problems progressives caused by elite lining their pockets, and running propaganda campaigns.
trepidity23 2 years ago
@trepidity23 then who's going to stop them from doing it? FDR didn't ask nicely to companies to stop selling and buy products from Nazi Germany?
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Well A) The people your expecting to, have no authority to do so. Read the constitution please. And second, you traveling down a sliding slope where government can tell people what to do in business, that is called Fascism. Where the state tells businesses and/or people what to do with their own money and property. Which really if you think about it makes it all the State's property, it isn't really owned by you if you don't have full control over it. And btw if your going to just troll...
trepidity23 2 years ago
when people become over fanatic about a human it usually creates a religion.
I've study constitutional law, so don't try to play I'm an expert about the Constitution. Your playing on the "cult of the Constitution".. basically you just hand pick what you like and throw out parts you don't.. mostly the parts that admen it.
As of 1900's people have the right to play a direct role in election, Ron Paul is being used and funded by the conservatives to get you idiots.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
What you fail to understand kind troll, is that we like Ron Paul bc he is honest, and I personally am a VERY strict constitutional conservative. If it ain't in the constitution, or is restricted or banned in the constitution including the Bill of Rights, then the Federal Government is not legally doing it. Plain and simple. I like seeing someone in Congress fighting to restore our republic. The progressives have done so much damage it may take time, but we WILL get it done. Troll on my friend.
trepidity23 2 years ago
@trepidity23 I didn't think the founding fathers designed the Constitution to take power away from the people.
All the constitution says about government is that it should have limits on power, it has nothing on how big the government can be or what role government should have on day to day life. Because the Founders couldn't agree on this, some of our founders even wanted a welfare state.
Labeling people trolls just because they disagree with you is something only a weak person would do.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Actually, the constitution explicitly grants powers and abilities to the Federal Government. And quite specifically I might add. All power not given to the Federal Government as explicitly stated in the constitution is given to the states or the people. You tell me what that means.
bobdole57 2 years ago
Also, welfare states and frankly, non-Austrian economics always fail anyway so its sort of a non-issue. I hate to sound like an ass, but we either start being free people with a free economy, or we are all screwed.
bobdole57 2 years ago
Free economic always fail too, nobody is happy and leads to revolution, for example the provisional government in Russia after the over throw of the Czar. It was true libertarianism and it was elected out by Lenin.
That's right, after several year's rule under libertarianism, rather switch to Communism.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
I hate to intrude with the facts, but the Bolsheviks were not free market libertarians. The Russian revolution was Marxist from the beginning. The Russian Social Democratic Labour Party dates back to the 1880's in fact. The Bolsheviks were nothing more than militant marxists.
Anyway, the Russian revolution was a "people's revolution." It was not an INDIVIDUAL'S revolution.
bobdole57 2 years ago
Its actually sort of ridiculous to claim that Bolshevism is a free market Libertarian system. I mean, how can you believe in the state ownership of the means of production and call that free market, libertarian?
Sure it wasn't called communism at the time, but it sure as hell was socialist, it sure as hell wasn't libertarian.
bobdole57 2 years ago
Of course the Bolsheviks weren't free market! but the Provisional government was , It was so weak and useless. the Provisional government was a basic liberaltarin Republic set up after the Revolution, but before it was overthrown by lenin.
You libertain's don't do history well, do you ?
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Show me some evidence of this magic provisional non-marxist failed system.
Also, just because everyone sold out to the party that started the revolution and gave up thier personal and economic freedom does not actually mean free markets and classical liberalism failed.
bobdole57 2 years ago
What is the rationale for this collectivism anyway? Personally, I think if you want to go live in a Marxist community, you can, but I DON'T HAVE TO.
What gives the collective the right to enslave individuals? Shouldn't lifestyle choices be left to the individual?
I mean, in a truly Libertarian, free market system, anyone can live in whatever economic system they want, so as long as it is not forced on anyone else. You can live with communists, I don't have to.
bobdole57 2 years ago
Essentially, the argument between Libertarianism and all other forms of government is a question of authority. Does the government, be it of the people or of a dictator have the 'divine' right to enslave other individuals? That is the question.
Personally, I think if individuals were meant to live in slavery and bondage, we'd all get along a lot better.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 Ok, it's called opening a book called Russia history or if your that dumb, go to Wikipedia and look up "Russian Provisional Government".
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Hmmm, examples of Governments that last less than one year. I think there are other things wrong with the circumstances than just weakness.
Hell, the articles of confederation lasted 11 years.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 you paulTards love to talk, to bad you never listen. I never said I supported communism, but Libertarianism is so flawed, that people actual went for communism then Libertarianism
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
I never said you advocate communism either. That was an EXAMPLE.
My point is, live how you want, but don't force it on anyone else. Nothing flawed about it.
bobdole57 2 years ago
If you don't like Libertarianism, call it anarchism without adjectives if you want, I don't care.
The simple fact is, all forms of Government are flawed since they very existence of a government implies an involuntary submission to power. And we know that power corrupts.
bobdole57 2 years ago
Your arguing like it's a religion, not that it is.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Well I am an intellectual. I can philosophize a bit. Thats what this all is you know, philosophy.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 please, intellectualism as a political philosophy is the belief of that every man, women and child has the right to civil rights, civil liberties and free, accessibility and quality education to all persons.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Intellectual in my context means: "An intellectual is a person who uses intelligence (thought and reason) and analytical thinking, either in a professional or a personal capacity."
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 yes, but that's why I said Political Philosophy, learn to read and analytical think before you respond to an argument. Like an intellectual
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Well if I didn't need to clarify what I meant, why did you bother telling me what intellectualism (phil.) is?
Why would I possibly give a flying shit what intellectualism means as a political philosophy unless you were trying to tell me I was wrong with my use of the term?
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 I like democratic federalism, hate me for it, but It's a great system. If you want to play Ayn Rand Economics, go create a small scale model that we can uses, don't preach to us about paul how he going to fix everything by doing nothing, because i don't want to throw away my befits for an untested theory,
It's still sounds like a religion, damn.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
democratic federalism as in a full unconstrained democracy? If thats the case, thats essentially mob rule.
Ayn Rand economics isn't an untested religious theory. Like I said before, you have the right to free association. You can collect and associate with whomever you want. You could create a community based on your beliefs and ultimately succeed and be the most popular.
BUT it is NOT COMPULSORY. Thats the point.
bobdole57 2 years ago
And for the record, all political ideologies are going to sound like religions to those who don't subscribe to the same beliefs.
Thats because they are all belief systems. There is no real science behind political systems. Some people think Monarchies are the way to go, others believe in pure democracy. All belief systems.
My belief system, as much as you seem to disagree, stresses individualism and freedom. I am my own master.
Yeah, its philosophy, a belief system. So what?
bobdole57 2 years ago
hypocrite! you propagate Freedom, but you believe freedom for yourself. Your afraid of the people, it' speak the truth of libertarianism. If your so called free republica can't even trust power to it's citizens then it's just an aristocracy.
In FD their is protection of law for both the Majority and the Minority. Name one country in which liberatarins has worked, none.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
I'm not a hypocrite. I believe in the freedom of the individual, not the collective.
I do not people as a collective have the rights to coerce and force others to do things. I do not believe in a collective right to take the rights away from individuals.
You have an individual right to live life as you choose, you do not have a collective right to make ME live the life YOU choose.
Get it?
bobdole57 2 years ago
I'd like to know where you got your degree in self righteousness. I mean, how can you possibly think that it is oppressive or non-free or whatever to deny your right to take other's rights?
Isn't a main purpose of government to protect liberty? A pure mob rule democracy could vote away any individuals rights or freedoms with a simple majority. There is no liberty there.
A collective group can't violate an individual's rights. Simple as that.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 now your making accusations, Were the hell did i say collectives. One man, one vote. that is the power of the individual.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
the collective is the power of the people to vote to take away the rights of an individual.
You seem to support a pure democracy, whatever the people want goes. Well what if 51% of the people want to kill the other 49%, does that go?
Individuals have rights that are explicitly protected from the government.
bobdole57 2 years ago
Basically what I'm saying is, just because the majority wants it, doesn't mean they have the right to have it.
bobdole57 2 years ago
Its always funny how progressives and neoconservatives like to give robbery, coercion and sometimes murder the happy face of Government and that makes it all ok.
Just because you think you have a right to something I have, doesn't mean you get to have it. Thats just the way it is. Democracy as it is popularly portrayed is a joke. Its mob rule. A mob wants something, they take it.
Its Bullshit.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 Perfect example why libertarian is flawed, it creates a dictatorship, In Federal Democracy laws protect the civil rights of both the Majority and the Minority, In libertarianism, their is no civil rights, only civil liberaty's allowing the powerful to imposing their will on others. Play Bioshock, it proves why libertarianism can't work.
btw, looked up the post-revolution government yet?
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Yes I did.
And I totally disagree with your premise.
Incase you haven't noticed, Ron Paul is a constitutionalist. He believe in protecting the rights of individuals with a limited government. He personally doesn't advocating having no laws at all.
And in a practical sense, I don't either. I wrote a paper about this once, maybe I should send it to you. Might be easier.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 No, he's a self centered asshole who doesn't give a shit about anybody, just like yourself. If the people want a single payer health care system and better services the only people holding them back are the ignorant basters who let a child die in the street then pay extra in taxes.
when the economy recovers watch how quickly ron paul supports dies.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
First of all, the MAJORITY DO NOT WANT A SINGLE PAYER HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. THAT IS A FACT.
Secondly, THE CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE A COMPULSORY SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM.
THIRDLY: IT DOESN'T WORK ANYWAY.
bobdole57 2 years ago
We'll see what happens, we can have a creeping tyranny or we can have freedom and liberty.
Freedom isn't always perfect, it can come with some pain at times, but it is the only way.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 see your telling me what we can and can't have, are you sure your not a pro-tyranny?
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Im telling you you can have anything you want, so as long as you aren't stealing it from me, or anyone else for that matter.
Personal liberty is not a hard concept, why do you keep trying to twist it around. Liberty is a personal thing, if you have to take from someone else, its not liberty anymore.
I bet you are one of the people who claim health care is a right, would I be correct?
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 Now we have an impasse, Were do we go from here, both of us, don't want to violet each others right, but either way were going to collide and argue
, It's only health care..... just like fire, police and library's. It's suppose to be a public service, something not meant to make money off of, but we do ad that is truly sick. You can still run a business or a shop, but the doctors belong to the people, i never met a good doctor who practices just to make a lot of money.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
The problem with declaring something a right is that by doing that, you declare a right to a doctor's labor, and not just the doctor, but the janitors at the hospital, the nurses, the suppliers of medical goods, you declare a right to their labor.
The philosophical and legal consequences of doing that are extreme. What if we start to run low on doctors, if a doctor wants to quit, do you put a gun to their head and say no?
By the very definition, its slavery.
bobdole57 2 years ago
Anyways, I contend that it is impossible to declare a good or service a right without effective enslavement. If you have a right to my labor, I am a slave. If we have a right to a doctor's labor, an MRI machine manufacturers labor, they are, by the very definition, a slave.
Under most circumstances this may not be a practical issue, but if health care truly is a right, in the classic definition, slavery still exists in America.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57
Lol, I never liked guns, but we don't put guns on teachers when they want a raise, in fact we allow them to from unions, same with firefighters and police.
It would be a better system then we have now, anyone who is sick, could easily walk into a hospital, just right their name and date. and Just go in to get treated, no HMO's, Pre-E crap, no pointless paper work.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
The problem with big government people is they fail to see the problems they create when they try to fix something.
Education, both k-12 and higher has been getting more and more expensive while quality has been slowly declining.
I think its really interesting that the bigger government gets, the more problems we have so the bigger government needs to get. Its sort of like a cancer.
bobdole57 2 years ago
I mean, do you honestly expect me to believe a bunch of congressman can pass a bill called "Improving Education for our Youth" and it will actually do that? What if it does the opposite due to unforeseen consequences?
Then what?
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 actual, the new reports say High school is getting better, but their suffering from neglect with idiots who cut education so they can give people tax cuts, every dollar towards education can generate 13 dollars of revenue.
government needs to be property organized not thrown together. Besides, it's the small state states government that run education, not the Federal government
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
That is totally contradictory to my experience. Money spent on education is expanding, in some cases rapidly, and quality is flat or declining in places.
Actually, in case you didn't notice, there is a US department of education and a special cabinet member for it. States also receive federal funds for education and are actually somewhat heavily regulated by the Feds.
And if you gave Austrian theory a fair shake, you'd know this is DETRIMENTAL (as shown by the evidence).
bobdole57 2 years ago
Education and health care are not so special the laws of physics don't apply. They aren't so special the laws of economics don't apply.
Just because a government declares something will be better, or that they can fix it does not mean it is so.
bobdole57 2 years ago 8
They don't allow teachers to join unions. They force teachers to join the union if they want the job. There is a difference.
mcduffiesteven 2 years ago
And yeah, I'll admit I don't really give a shit about you, or at least what you do.
Everybody always wants theirs you know. Well what I WANT IS FOR EVERYBODY.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 see libertarianism is just a political philosophy for basement Dawdlers.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
I wish we could all be as morally bankrupt as you.
You want freedom without responsibility. Freedom for yourself but not others.
If we all voted, democratically (just like you want), for Constitutional Libertarians you'd be bitching about that. Oh wait you are.
You are such a hypocrite. Everybody gets their say in a democracy just like you want, so as long as they agree with you. If they are libertarians, its somehow wrong.
Well WE ARE WINNING.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 I never said you didn't have a say, I'm just making fun of how stupid your idea's are ( which I can freely do and if you try to stop me, uncle Sam has my back), no unity and constance individualism is going to lead to the most selfish and simpleminded society on earth. That's why nobody on earth wants a government like that.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
First of all, just to clarify my position, I don't believe my ideas are incredibly stupid or even somewhat stupid. Just saying.
Secondly, as a person who believes in liberty and freedom, I would never try to stop you from having or voicing opinions. Thats not what we do even though you seem to think so. I might ask you to shut up, or insult you, but I sure as hell can't make you do anything. And thats fine.
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 then your advocating some from of restraint on the population, some Libertarian you are.
snowwolf7777 2 years ago
Once again, I am advocating restraint on the COLLECTIVE not the INDIVIDUAL.
What part of that don't you get?
I DON'T GIVE A SHIT WHAT YOU DO SO AS LONG AS I DON'T HAVE TO DO IT TOO. GET THAT?
bobdole57 2 years ago
@bobdole57 get this through your thick skull!

Ron Paul is a sick white macist.
He has no respect for the constitusion because he hates Minorities and Jews, and supports dictating countries!!
toknow07 2 years ago
The picture that Congressman Paul is painting is a very accurate one. It is a picture of pure chaos. A chaos brought about by the existence of a group of people with the sanctioned right to the initiation of the use of force.
It is ironic to witness the reaction of most who in a knee-jerk way, react to the thought of a purely voluntary society, one free from the coercion of the state, with vivid images of chaos!
