Pure brilliance! Definately in my all time top 10. Still gutted that I never got to see them in concert - had to sell tickets for gig in Cardiff last November as the baby arrived 3 weeks early! I will remind her in the years to come!!!!!!

I'm an Englishman, and I can say with my hand on my heart that if A-HA were an English band, they'd be as famous as the Beatles-they are in my view the most talented band of the last 25 years by miles.
@slaphaddalztick I was lucky enough to see them in '87 when I was 17. I could not miss the opportunity of seeing them on their farewell tour. I paid over the odds for my ticket, but they were excellent. I loved every minute x x x x
@crankyankerhapso I'm certainly not above comparing any band to the Beatles if I think they merit it, few do, but a-ha come as close as any in terms of productive quality and consistently being able to write brilliant, diverse music. But actually, the point I was making is that a-ha were and are hugely underrated, and that an awful lot of great music produced in Europe goes unnoticed by the very anglo-centric bias of the US/British music industry.
@slaphaddalztick I absolutely agree. They are so good. A real, pure, original talent. Nothing compares. So glad they found their way back together in the 90's and gave us more great music. They achieved so very much in their time.

Worlds most underrated singer ever! Morten and aha deserves so much more credit then they have gotten. They should be up there with U2, but sadly people often refer to aha as a "one hit wonder".
Great concert version! Morten's voice sounds beautifully, and he looks pretty as ever (I envy him a little bit!) The piece of music has got for me a spirit of Norway (I perceive like that though I've never been there). I think it's certainly one of my favourite AHA's songs. OK, I was listening to this song on my PC and I just made a quick bet with myself that there is no way it could sound good live, it's just impossible to get it right. I was wrong. Hats off. At 3:27 my eyes popped out.
I substituted better audio from the same performance and synced it up, not a studio version. The studio version sounds nothing like this, and wouldn't sync up anyway... geez.
Yes I was in oslo 7 nov -09 on a A-ha concert. And I can say that he is still AMAZING! He sang "Take on me" brilliant, and "Summer moved on" like a walk in the park... still holds 20 sec on that note, I counted! They are the best band ever.

In my very personal opinion U2 and coldplay are borring...sorry... A-ha is a very original band, always do diferent things, and his "unpopular" music, is a prub of his bigness.

Well, Bono's voice fits U2 songs perfectly, but Morten's voice is better (technically). He has 5 octaves vocal range. And yes, we cannot compare the living irish legend, the world's biggest band with an underrated Norwegian band, which is unfortunately very unknown in spite of the fact that it's a VERY good band. Here in the Czech Republic there are almost no people who know a-ha. And most of them only know the song "Take on me", which is definitely NOT one of their best. It's a pity...
Exactly... just see how bands like Jonas Brothers became famous. They're popular all over the world, but only because of their looks, not music (cos it's f.cking shit).
U2 produces good music and definitely deserves their success. But a-ha deserves it too...
I think U2 is a good band too; I'm just not a huge fan of their style. Artists like A-ha actually have a tougher row to hoe, because they're out there doing something different that doesn't get the instant gratification of chart success, but may be ahead of its time. And I agree; Take On Me is one of my least favorite of their songs. It made them famous, then quickly became an albatross around their necks.
Absolutely amazing! ... They always were great, this song is "one of a kind", and this live performance is stunning. Do I need to mention how much I like the part when orchestra is uncovered? :) ... and that 20sec. long note, simply takes our breath away... but not his. ;)

Yes I was in oslo 7 nov -09 on a A-ha concert. And I can say that he is still AMAZING! He sang "Take on me" brilliant, and "Summer moved on" like a walk in the park... still holds 20 sec on that note, I counted! They are the best band ever.

In my very personal opinion U2 and coldplay are borring...sorry... A-ha is a very original band, always do diferent things, and his "unpopular" music, is a prub of his bigness.
Here in Mexico and others countrys have only one hit....but ,see here how many people of Czech Republic, France, Brazil, Finland, Chile, Canada, Japan, Usa, Spain, Britan, German, Ireland, Norway of corse....and more.... love A-ha in almost all the world!!! without publicity in many of them... my Mexican heart loves A-ha

i love a-ha, but bono (U2) the voice is better than 80's, for me the two best voice of the world. and sinatra, freddie and pavarotti was the best of all times

Well, Bono's voice fits U2 songs perfectly, but Morten's voice is better (technically). He has 5 octaves vocal range. And yes, we cannot compare the living irish legend, the world's biggest band with an underrated Norwegian band, which is unfortunately very unknown in spite of the fact that it's a VERY good band. Here in the Czech Republic there are almost no people who know a-ha. And most of them only know the song "Take on me", which is definitely NOT one of their best. It's a pity...

Exactly... just see how bands like Jonas Brothers became famous. They're popular all over the world, but only because of their looks, not music (cos it's f.cking shit).
U2 produces good music and definitely deserves their success. But a-ha deserves it too...

I think U2 is a good band too; I'm just not a huge fan of their style. Artists like A-ha actually have a tougher row to hoe, because they're out there doing something different that doesn't get the instant gratification of chart success, but may be ahead of its time. And I agree; Take On Me is one of my least favorite of their songs. It made them famous, then quickly became an albatross around their necks.

Absolutely amazing! ... They always were great, this song is "one of a kind", and this live performance is stunning. Do I need to mention how much I like the part when orchestra is uncovered? :) ... and that 20sec. long note, simply takes our breath away... but not his. ;)
