i highly recommend the Quartz addon for smelting, it tells you the exact amount of time for smelting multiple ores.

And is it possible to still play old WoW games? Or do they make the game like now that this new one is out this is the only "world" you can play in??

@oBIGxREDo you don't have to buy the expansion packs to play, although it does make the game more ideal and fun. Get new races, classes, questing zones, and higher levels. And yes you can continue on the character you already made, or make a new on. You can have 50 characters total, 10 per server. But in order to play cataclysm, you must buy it and wrath, and to play wrath you must buy burning crusade. Hope i helped :)

once you are able to mine obsidian you should basicly stop cuz it doesnt take to long to get from that lvl to 525 at most it should take you about an hour to and hour and a half
