The finish line was just signed on the ground under the Constantine arch
and it suited perfectly the idea of ancient Greece's marathon , according to such an historical bimillenarium site in Rome !
Did you expect from the 1960 Olymp. organizers that they made a modern style finish line with the writing "Finish " on above and maybe a sponsor's mark by McDonald's or Kentucky Fried Chiken ? D

Sorry but you're wrong, the finnish line is painted in the ground IN FRONT OF the arch, not UNDER.

Abebe Bikila is a Giant in Ethiopia and the world. What an epic show. Ironic the record is now held by another Giant Ethiopian Haile G/Selassie.
