In those days this particular practice of marriage was accepted, not only in the Middle East, but also in the western world. Perhaps you should go and do some relevant research from trusted sources such as genuine Hadith, so that you may learn the beauty of Islam and the true character and the Prophet p.b.u.h. You will then find how positive Islam is as opposed to the negative image shown in the media.

I'm not a Christian....I'm an atheist, which I am very proud of and which gives me peace and gratification.
Of course I know what Islam means, many religions only believe in one god and submit to that god....I find that sad. However, of course you are free to believe whatever you want, I have no problem with that. But if you put videos out for the entire world to see, and the theme is converting, you must expect comments. I'm free to comment and you are free to disregard them.
I am also a convert, and it is very true that we have no idea what is going to happen after the fact of converting! I am located in a place where there are very very few muslims....so the aftermath has a large affect on you. But Allah do take care of you al7humdulilah.

mpink mubarak on converting alhamdulilah, the hijab is actulyl part of the basics and is obligatory on every women past puberty, i suggest you ask a scholar someone who is an expert in the field who will be able to provide you with a variety of evidences through the hadith and Quran on the obligation of hijab and what classifies as a hijab as its not just the scarf
I just converted a couple of months ago, and I'm kind of going through the confusing stage. I don't have any real Muslim friends yet and have not been up to the mosque. So far, I have only been reading about it. I will Insha'Allah go this Friday, but am a little nervous thinking about what I'm going to do there. I've been learning how to pray online, but still don't know if I'm doing it right. Should I just walk up to somebody and ask them to help me out?
@SK371 I'm sure anyone would be willing to help you. The people at the masjid are friendly and they won't turn their back on a Muslim who's in need, besides, they get rewarded for sharing their knowledge of Islam and encouraging you to pray anyway. A few converts attend the masjid that I visit and they're always asking questions and talking to different types of people. It's a good atmosphere for them. You should go.

If u want to know more about it u wont maybe get well informed by asking somebody at Jummah, the best is to ask a not too old and a not too joung person, mostly muslim that go to fadzr prayer... or just ask the imam.. because at Jummah prayer come all different types of muslim, u cant decide which has the right information, at fadzr prayer u have a litle number of muslim, mostly good informed but not always... go some times to the mosqe,,, May Allah help u

Some sisters have asked why I'm not wearing hijab - it's because I want to get the basics right before I don the scarf. I'd much rather get the hang of praying properly, charity, fasting and proper behaviour first. I've learnt so much about Islam in the past few months, huge difference from when I first converted. There's a lot which no-one tells you about fortunately, some sisters have been really supportive. Alhamdulillah!

I'm a muslim born in a muslim family from indonesia. a muslim brother of mine once converted to christian after marrying a christian woman. my family then no longer recognised him as part of the family, he faced tough critisisms and never again allowed to return to his home village. almost exactly the same happened when a christian friend of mine converted to islam.

There's a difference of opinion, however in Sunan Abu Dawood Volume 3 Hadith 4345, the prophet PBUH pardoned someone who committed apostasy. This was to show us that there is no compulsion in religion as the Qur'an says in 2:256

I'm an American Catholic. I plan to convert. I have't yet, because I want to learn more, I'll start Islam classes in August. I try to follow some of the teachings. I wore a hijab, posted a photo on facebook no Christians (not even my Priest) got mad. Muslims did "Islam is not about fashion" and they quizzed about the Quran. When I gave intelligent answers they got angry because I have yet to convert. Oh, and every Muslim I know want to marry me, or knows someone who would be perfect, lol!

I became interested for many reasons, but mostly the errors of Catholicism (I was raised catholic) motivated me to research about other religions and the more I read of the Holy Qu'ran the more I read the more I realized it to be a perfect miracle, and the truth I was searching for. I researched on my own and then went the masjid to say shahada.

If you ask a Muslim born man who do you desire to marry, you'll always here a revert/convert 99.9% of the time. I deal with a lot of christian apologetics and here the same things all the time, what advice would you give me in dealing with stubborn christian apologetics?

Because a revert is a Muslim from free choice while most Muslims are Muslims because of parents. A revert makes the most important decision of their lives hence they've been doing countless of research about other faiths and Islam, and their decision has to be 100% perfect and free from any doubts while most Muslim-born individuals have doubts and are clueless about their religion. A revert is what excels a non-practicing Muslim to become a better Muslim.

@dabizzal90 parents have been great, I live with them and they give me ride to the masjid, help me pick out scarves to wear, and let me pray...it took a few months to get here about alhamdulilah it's going well. Friends and my community are mixed, most support it because they are Muslim or have Muslim friends, but some jut stopped talking to me...and I had a bad experience at a local restaurant.
@dabizzal90 :-) Yes, I do make dua for them...I am assuming you do not live in US or the UK, because having lived in both I can tell you it is getting better, although it is still not the easiest to be a muslim here (in the "bible belt" of America)...lol but maybe it's just getting better because the 100+ degree weather we're having that makes people worry I'll overheat in my hijab!

@dabizzal90 100+ lol I mean fahrenheit! It was 104 f yesterday, so that is 40 c...There is a large community of muslim here too but only near my school, I actually live in the next town and my parents won't let me wear my hijab there.
It's tough being a new Muslim as i've seen in many of my friends struggling with their parents criticising every moves they made, it takes time to get the approval of your parents, I am sure you can manage and at the same time its da'wah to your parents for the simple fact that you are a Muslim. @AnsweringMuslims1 1) The prophet was not pagan like most the meccans of his time, he believed in the Abrahamic God. 2) He was meditating on a mountain which makes sense as that would be a quiet place, making it easy to concentrate. 3) It was revealed in Mecca because that is where God willed it to be revealed, but it could have been anywhere. 4) Most religions have a religious figure who is dead, such as Moses, Budda and Jesus, although Muslims believe that Jesus didn't technically die. :)

I'm not a Christian....I'm an atheist, which I am very proud of and which gives me peace and gratification.
Of course I know what Islam means, many religions only believe in one god and submit to that god....I find that sad. However, of course you are free to believe whatever you want, I have no problem with that. But if you put videos out for the entire world to see, and the theme is converting, you must expect comments. I'm free to comment and you are free to disregard them.

I am also a convert, and it is very true that we have no idea what is going to happen after the fact of converting! I am located in a place where there are very very few muslims....so the aftermath has a large affect on you. But Allah do take care of you al7humdulilah.

I just converted a couple of months ago, and I'm kind of going through the confusing stage. I don't have any real Muslim friends yet and have not been up to the mosque. So far, I have only been reading about it. I will Insha'Allah go this Friday, but am a little nervous thinking about what I'm going to do there. I've been learning how to pray online, but still don't know if I'm doing it right. Should I just walk up to somebody and ask them to help me out?

The people at the masjid are friendly and they won't turn their back on a Muslim who's in need, besides, they get rewarded for sharing their knowledge of Islam and encouraging you to pray anyway. A few converts attend the masjid that I visit and they're always asking questions and talking to different types of people. It's a good atmosphere for them. You should go.

As a convert I can relate to this so well and this is, so, so useful.
Some sisters have asked why I'm not wearing hijab - it's because I want to get the basics right before I don the scarf. I'd much rather get the hang of praying properly, charity, fasting and proper behaviour first. I've learnt so much about Islam in the past few months, huge difference from when I first converted. There's a lot which no-one tells you about fortunately, some sisters have been really supportive. Alhamdulillah!

I'm a muslim born in a muslim family from indonesia. a muslim brother of mine once converted to christian after marrying a christian woman. my family then no longer recognised him as part of the family, he faced tough critisisms and never again allowed to return to his home village. almost exactly the same happened when a christian friend of mine converted to islam.

There's a difference of opinion, however in Sunan Abu Dawood Volume 3 Hadith 4345, the prophet PBUH pardoned someone who committed apostasy. This was to show us that there is no compulsion in religion as the Qur'an says in 2:256

Auburn, Australia A new Muslim got his first taste of Islam when four Muslims broke into his house and beat him for drinking alcohol.
The NSW resident Christian Martinez, 31, recently converted to Islam. He went out drinking with his friends on Saturday night, but was woken up on the early hours of Sunday morning, by four Muslims who had broken into his home. Three of them hold Martinez down while the fourth, Tolga Cifci, lashed him 40 times with an electric cable.

The amount of times brothers have made me upset because of horrible comments about what I wear or how I talk, speak gently and be tactful, chances are we'll learn and grow. Being a revert can be an extremely isolating experience, so do a good turn and you'll get reward in so many ways

Bukhari:V4B56N814 Narrated Anas: There was a Christian who embraced Islam and he used to write (the revelations) for the Prophet. Later on he returned to Christianity again and he used to say: "Muhammad knows nothing but what I have written for him."
Abu-Dawood #4345: Narrated byAbdullah ibn Abbas; Abdullah ibn AbuSarh used to write (the revelation) for the Apostle of Allah he used to suggest alternative words to rhyme in Quran. He left Islam, claiming that if Muhammad was inspired, so was he!

It has following deadly features which you dont find in any religion.

2) Its ok to marry 4 wifes (including minors)

I'm an American Catholic. I plan to convert. I have't yet, because I want to learn more, I'll start Islam classes in August. I try to follow some of the teachings. I wore a hijab, posted a photo on facebook no Christians (not even my Priest) got mad. Muslims did "Islam is not about fashion" and they quizzed about the Quran. When I gave intelligent answers they got angry because I have yet to convert. Oh, and every Muslim I know want to marry me, or knows someone who would be perfect, lol!

I super happy and so excited, and met many nice sisters...but it was like here's a gift bag, here's the sisters emails, lots of hugs salam...and now nothing! I emailed no response...idk I'm soo confused and a little stressed by all the information and the judging I'm getting by my friends (muslim and non) about how I dress and pray (or don't because I am confused)!!! @dabizzal90 LOL, I like #3; I'm a Muslim now! I cover, I go to tajweed classes, I attend Jum'ah, and I'm learning about Islam more everyday! I became interested for many reasons, but mostly the errors of Catholicism (I was raised catholic) motivated me to research about other religions and the more I read of the Holy Qu'ran the more I read the more I realized it to be a perfect miracle, and the truth I was searching for. I researched on my own and then went the masjid to say shahada.

If you ask a Muslim born man who do you desire to marry, you'll always here a revert/convert 99.9% of the time. I deal with a lot of christian apologetics and here the same things all the time, what advice would you give me in dealing with stubborn christian apologetics?

Because a revert is a Muslim from free choice while most Muslims are Muslims because of parents. A revert makes the most important decision of their lives hence they've been doing countless of research about other faiths and Islam, and their decision has to be 100% perfect and free from any doubts while most Muslim-born individuals have doubts and are clueless about their religion. A revert is what excels a non-practicing Muslim to become a better Muslim.

@dabizzal90 parents have been great, I live with them and they give me ride to the masjid, help me pick out scarves to wear, and let me pray...it took a few months to get here about alhamdulilah it's going well. Friends and my community are mixed, most support it because they are Muslim or have Muslim friends, but some jut stopped talking to me...and I had a bad experience at a local restaurant.

@dabizzal90 :-) Yes, I do make dua for them...I am assuming you do not live in US or the UK, because having lived in both I can tell you it is getting better, although it is still not the easiest to be a muslim here (in the "bible belt" of America)...lol but maybe it's just getting better because the 100+ degree weather we're having that makes people worry I'll overheat in my hijab!

lol HAHA nicely said, I live in UK but alhamdulilah where I live there's a big community of Muslims, I feel sorry for those surrounding by EDL(english defense league) and those type of people, they hate Islam and anyone who preaches it. I dont get Americans who say 100+ degrees when there's never been a weather recorded on that scale or excuse me if you meant it as a figure of speech.
