  • That was the most beautiful moo I've ever heard :').....

  • This doesn't make sense to me. Diamond says that animals moving out of the fertile crescent are responsible for civilization. Well, what about the American empires(Maya, Aztec, Inca)? The animals from the fertile crescent didn't move there (until Europeans brought them), yet civilization flourished. Eventually, the Amerindians made fantastic architectural pieces, a numerical system, and amazing works of science. Diamond is just bullshitting his way to fame and money.

  • Oxen are extremely hard to work with. In Victorian England everyone used horses

  • That horse is super cool.

  • this is the exact part i need f or my report, thanks

  • He's such a dork at 9:25

  • i love the way he holds the gun lol look at his face

  • the guy at 00:42 is pretty dumb using horses to plough....oxen have better hooves, more pulling power and are cheaper.

  • @smile221 yeah im pretty sure those are muels bro

and im also pretty sure muels are cheaper and live longer

  • This isn't 'racist' or 'anti-European" - he dosen't say that only europeans conquered or committed atrocities - simply that they were better at it.

his question wasn't 'why did europeans do this?' but "why couldn't it be the other way around?" (i.e. why didn't the incas colonise europe)

He repeatedly states his belief that - people are basically the same everywhere

  • @discipleoftheteapot Anytime White superiority values are challenged they yell reverse racism.

  • like this if TheAmazingAtheist sent you here!

  • @discipleoftheteapot what did he send you over here for? And from what video did he send you here from?

  • @supersmash43 a video called 'PWNED: Rascist Kid' (2nd Septemer 2011)

  • China is vastly geographically isolated... northern permafrost, the fucking Gobi desert, tropical rainforest to the Southeast... the FUCKING PACIFIC OCEAN to the East... and no offense.... but the Fucking Koreans and Japanese... China fucked itself politically for not exploring but geographically isolated it was... Crackers went looking for China not the other way around.. and not to mention that fucking Wall that was built.

chinese imperial politics, geogprahy, and a Wall is to blame !

  • This guy shot that arcabuz like such a pussy.

  • if I hear guns, jizz, and steel one more time....

  • Can everyone shut up about being racist! its annoying and well I expected comments like the one that says the last part is my fav. Not this annoying stuff. who cares just go whine to someone else. Nobody really wants to read all of this. if you find somebody who actually watched the whole thing and did a report on it who is willing to Let me know!! No offence or anything.

  • In 1847, the Choctaw people, after having endured unspeakable cruelty on the Trail of Tears, heard about the plight of the Irish and the Great Famine. They actually collected and sent money to Ireland to help the Irish people. Why don't they concentrate on making documentaries about things like this to show that people are also capable of great things? I think that Native Americans are truly noble people to express such generosity to others in the face of adversity.

  • @misha854 Yeah, they also killed each other babies and raped each others women before Europeans arrived. So now what?

  • The powerful nation of Spain at that time kinda reminds me of the power of Nazi Germany at their time.

  • the end is my fav part :) lol

  • Infinity999ful - Muslims (Arabs in the west and Turks in the east) controlled large parts of Europe at various times. They were indeed invaders, and ruled "native" peoples such as the Greeks, Serbs, Bulgarians, Hungarians and Rumanians. Sicily was ruled by Arabs and Moorish rule in Spain lasted 700 years.

  • @MrFogeyblue not THE WAY THE EUROPEANS CONQUERED AFRICA!!!!!!!!!AND AMERICA NATIVE AMERICANS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrFogeyblue ALSO MUSLIM RULE WAS NOT SIGNIFICANT BECAUSE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH STILL HAD POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Did you see his face when he was about to fire the gun? lulz

  • I liked how he totally gayed out firing the gun. The man is clueless, he just wants lots of excuses other than race or culture for why his beloved foreigners aren't building space shuttles.

  • 'You must be brave to wear a pot.'

    HAHAHAA

  • @deyaaliaga crazy not brave

  • WHAT A PUSSY! AHAHAHA!

  • Lol at da end

  • Empires w/o compassion are doomed to collapse. When an empire arrogantly believes it has to only take and not contribute to areas it rules over-it is upsetting many natural, legal, and spiritual laws. And the consequence may come slowly, perhaps positively at first. But justly and fairly in the end. Generations may escape the penalty due.....but pay it eventually it must; it will. History has proven w/o exception.

    paz/peace/salam/shalom

  • 3:05 beautiful horse

  • Comment removed

  • Hey look, it's the same pigs the Papuans have, except that they're being reared as part of an organised farm instead of running loose...

I also love the rabid ultra-nationalist Pervian professor they found and Diamond failing to understand the potency of early muskets in massed battle (where it was almost impossible to miss).

  • @Soulfree2008 Well I'm not sure if you said Marxism, but I thought that's where you were coming from. If I was wrong, I'll apologize. Yeah, we need a new world order that represents the best interest of humanity as a whole, not a few rich nutters and the interests of materialism. We need world peace, and I believe it is possible. Why do we have to make war with each other? We don't -- it's a choice, just as it is a choice to be materialistic and ruin the Earth or not.

  • @Soulfree2008 Yeah, you need to provide some proof if you claim you have any. As for capitalism vs "Marxism", neither works. True Marxist communism only works on really tiny scales, it doesn't work on the world scale. As a result, people stay is small groups and worst you get WAR. Capitalism also creates war, too -- conquest, etc. So neither system is truly good. We need to both get along with the Earth, and with each other as a single human family, not divided into warring nations.

  • Inca's should've killed the conquistadors instead of playing with them. Chinese screwed up by letting gunpowder out of their country. Major f**kups in history.

  • @Soulfree2008 A nonsensical reply, to which I can only respond by telling you to rub your three functioning brain cells together and try again. Perhaps with some attempt at addressing my points.

  • @Soulfree2008 Proof of the supernatural? Were that not a self contradicting statement it would still be amusing. Feel free to show me your "proof" I could use a laugh. As for your quasi Marxist mental masturbation, I would ask you to name an alternative to capitalism as an effective economic model. I'd also ask you to point out which societies on earth have environmental protection as a primary objective? Are they first world capitalist countries, or tribal regions? The answer is self evident.

  • @Soulfree2008 Souls aren't known to exist, and there is nothing about capitalism that makes people violent. Its evolution that makes us violent and greedy, (these being survival traits) however it is also evolution that gave us the intelligence to reason our way out of these base instincts.

Moreover to "live with nature" is to die of old age and fear at 30, no thank you. I like modernity just fine, and capitalism is the only effective economic model, balanced with regulation it works just fine.

  • @Soulfree2008 I just read an article about the comanche indians. They were greedy with wealth and it lead to their own downfall. Other indian tribes had the same opportunity to become imperialistic, but decided they had enough for themselves and were happy with that. where does this greedy hunger come from?

  • @quitejaded From evolution, of course. But see -- there's the thing: some decided to not listen to it. So the evolutionary impulse toward greed is not an insurmountable thing that one cannot decide to not follow.

  • @Soulfree2008 That is totally what I am not talking about. And if you were trying to make some funny segway, you failed. :P

  • My professor finds Jared Diamond to be annoying, but I think he is soooo cute :) I love the end of this clip.

  • Pizarros mounted men......"Part beast part human"? no. all Beast!! mercenaries! perverts! drunks! thieves! rapist's! liars! dig up theyre graves and toss theyre bones on a Spanish beach!..............i just spoke for every native south of the Rio Grande!

  • I would love to been there when the first humans decided they were going to try to ride horses.

  • he should have had them killed!

  • Atahualpa obviously was a stupid leader without any vision or power instinct

but millions of other inca citizens should have put up some fighting spirit

they were familiar with domestic wars & death

it seems franktly that they lacked courage, imagination & bravery to stop the intrudors

by contrast the spanish were psycologically raised in the combative momentum of their recent victory over the moors

  • hey Ukrainins were the first to ride horses I think

  • the mongols are insanely skilled in warfare they outwitted china and then pressed all the way towards europe just for the hell of it... there was no way they could control all those territories they just wanted to see how far they could go

  • lmao at 1:19 . Llamas watching people working.

  • The mish-mash of history in these comments is unbelievable. Inquisition - 1000's, Rennaissance - ~1340 - 1600; this occurred around the beginning of the Enlightenment period ~1550 - 1700's. Moors were Arabic Islamic invaders from N. Africa, Spanish European Catholic - not the same people; perhaps was meant Jewish/Catholic religious wars...

  • 9:32 lmao

  • Capitalism follows the same ideology as the Pharos. Enslave people and work their asses off to build their wonders to enchant the world with your glittering ideology thats rotten from the inside. Hence why you see pyramids everywhere.

Ohh... I wasn't supposed to touch on that I supposed. We can speak about shit theories all day but talking about the truth is an absolute crime. Forgot freedom is slavery, ignorance is power, we all live in a world of doublethink.

  • You are more then welcome to move to Cuba/Venezuela/China/North Korea/Nicaragua.......hell you can move to Russia since so many Russians are moving to America, I'm sure they have space for you......as for me I love Capitalism I'm staying

  • And the only reason Europe is technologically superior from the rest of the world is because of Capitalism.

Because only big capitalist corporations are greedy enough to step over people and exploit them for profit. Capitalism is just a new form of slavery. Just like the ancient egyptians built the pyramids through slave power!

  • The spanish got all their military and scientific technology from the Moors. The Moors were the most advanced society in the whole world who made some of the biggest discoveries and inventions which were all stolen by the spaniards after the Spanish Inquisition. The knowledge the spanish gained from the Moors directly contributed to the Renaissance. Before the Inquisition europe was in dark ages.

Something yer man very conveniently decided to skip over...

  • The Spanish are in denial because after 700 years the so-called Moors and Spanish were actually the same people fighting a religious civil war. Like the Catholic Irish and Protestants

  • What is the style of riding called? It is pronounced at 3:15ish. It sounds like Inetta or something. I've never seen a horse move like that before.

  • Jineta, named after Muslim Spain's zenete horsemen.

  • Thank you!

  • the europeans conquested all because they were greedy, not because they were superior or more intelligent than other people. better life is not technology, better life is happiness.

  • lol i can tell ur not white, ur only saying this because we conquered ur ppl and u wont admit we kicked ur ass and our way of life is superior, but its fine if youd rather die from protien defficiancy while white ppl go on to build spaceships be my guest, well see how happy u are then :)

  • The best part of all is that you must know that you're wrong. False pride is poison and you are choking on it.

  • I think if the Inca had met the Spanish in a pitched battle, their numbers would have been sufficient to overwhelm the Spanish.

Urban combat in the capital negated their numerical advantage. And the Spanish had the advantage of launching a surprise attack. Which the Spanish were famous for after centuries of skirmishes with the Moors in the mountains of Spain.

  • I kind of doubt the incas actually thought they were gods

  • They didn't. Atahaulpa thought they were just some random barbarians and was so confident he met them himself and disarmed his victorious army. It was a parade, not an army, that Pizarro attacked. Overestimating the Spanish was Moctezuma's mistake. Underestimating them was Atahualpas

  • hahahaha! of course! And Diamond probably doesn't understand runasimi (quechua) that well... hahahaha! The messanger & Atawallpa clearly (5.20-5.55) speak about "runakuna hamusqanku" = "people that came". "Runa" means "man". It's the word the quechua-speaking Andeans use(d) to descibe themselves.... not the gods...

Poor Jared... he's wrong in almost everything he claims & now even the actors betray him! hahaha!

  • There is one glaring flaw in Diamond's argument, I have only one word for you all just one word; Mongol. The Mongols kicked European ass all the way to hell and back and around the world man. They gave white people a basting so bad, whites don't talk about it much. ALL HAIL, THE GREAT KHAN, TEMUJIN!!!

    AAAAAAAAAMA YEEEEMA!!!

  • nope. This confirms his arguement. The mongels were master horse men and the had bows and arrows.

  • yes they were master horsemen, not master farmers.

alright; lets argue pointlessly for days on end.

  • Yes, that's basically correct. Chinngis (Ghengis) Kahn created a great superhighway of trade and technology transfer between East Asia, Central Asia, the Islamic world, and Europe. Diamond totally ignores this as he focuses on his "white" fetish and on the lands that would become the Americas. His research is so narrow in its focus, completely ignoring India and China, that its almost absurd.

    Dumb, white, liberal academic.

  • God damn it! Back in High School I won ABSOLUTELY ALL of my fights!!!! My friend Ben never had to save my ass every once in a while! I NEVER LOST!!! NEVER!!! YOU GOT THAT NEVER!!!! I WAS INVINCIBLE!!!! I WAS SUPERIOR!!!!

    LOL

Sorry, I was acting white there for a second.

  • well said.....where in INDIA and China...in this whole thing....

Where the hell is Harrapa and Mohenjadaro....

this is what happens when biologists stick their head in history...

    foolish....

  • Aryans destroyed Harrapa, and china destroyed its chance at empire by recalling their treasure fleet and banning overseas exploration.

China had rice and millet which was about as good as wheat for sustaining massive populations. Their failure was more do to internal politics than geographical limitations.

The same goes for the Roman empire, they considered all the land worth conquering to be theirs, so they didn't explore beyond what they knew.

There were other reasons of course.

  • china was never interested in conquering others, its main idea was always unification.. the treasure fleet was for exploration not conquest...and probably internal conflicts did some good afterall

  • That's what the Spanish exploration was about initially. They wanted to open new trade routs to the east. Of course they found gold and naive primitive peoples who couldn't defend themselves. And the rest is history. The Chinese were no different. And those treasure fleets did plenty of damage to the states they did travel to. When they refused them entry. The Chinese weren't exactly benevolent peace-loving people. Really, no civilization that has existed was or is.

  • what damage? the chinese fleet was loaded with treasures .. as gifts... not only the spanish, it is europe in general, anywhere they go... there's destruction

  • They forced ports open at gun point and forced natives to worship the emperor of china, look it up.

This is just another example of anti European revisionist history demonizing western society and washing over the atrocities committed by every other society.

Its ignorant, and I would argue racist.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna But that doesn't make Europe's any more excusable. None of them are excusable, whoever does them, and positive accomplishments should be praised, regardless of who does them. Be it Europe, China, India, Aboriginal America.

  • @mike4ty4 I didn't say it did excuse the atrocities committed by Europeans, my argument was simply against demonizing western culture. I'm all for embracing the accomplishments of other civilizations, as long as that doesn't evolve into nationalism, racism, fascism, or the fetishization of culture. Which it tends to do when people see things through the "us vs them" point of view. We should take an objective view of history.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna I would agree. However, this program was more about the specific question of European/Western civilizations' bad things, not that of other civilizations. If someone wanted to research, e.g. why bad things were done in China, they could, and maybe someone has. Just because this was about European/Western civilization doesn't mean that somehow they think other civilizations are somehow incapable of doing any wrong.

  • @mike4ty4 And, of course, to show how they came to dominate the world, what things they had going in their favor for it. This doesn't mean that somehow other civilizations are "off the hook" for wrongs they did, it's just to answer that specific question of why the West dominated and became the huge imperialist power.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna yeah right. what's racist is killing and enslaving other races.

  • @sirstratocaster Yes... that's why we know historically all people were racist, because all cultures at some point in history did that. I'm not sure what your impression was.

The African slave trade was a good example, it started with Africans selling other Africans to Africans, then was taken over by the Islamic caliphate, (which makes the whole nation of Islam think pathetically ironic) then the Portuguese and the dutch got involved.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna the documentary assumes that we already know that the other human populations were not without violence and domination, it's just showing us who was dominant at that violence and domination. the show is not racists

  • @SexyTheDyke Oh I wasn't saying the documentary is racist, far from it. Just that people will use it, and generally anything they can find to support their own agenda. Which you can see in the comments of almost every video on this site, to the agonizing dismay of my eyes...

generally white racists will attack the documentary for being propaganda, and anti western/European racists will try to use it for propaganda. I take an oppositional stance against both. History vindicates the truth,

  • two wrongs dont make a right. China had problems of its own and did make other cultures in south-east asia pay tribute, but this was also to the benefit of these cultures. Genocide, rape, pillaging and murder was never on the agenda unlike european societies such as the spanish, french, e.t.c.

to point fingers at another culture and not admitting ones own mistakes is rather immature.

"anti-european revisionist history" might simply be an honest attempt to recognize ones own mistakes

  • @iamme83 Cannot say it any better: "You do realize that the treasure fleet was worth a fortune right? Maintaining something like that requires massive amounts of funds. This was before the influx of British silver spurred on economic growth and trade. And China WAS an empire to begin with, the country you know today was formed through massive wars between states accumulating into what was Imperial China (221 BC - 1912 AD), it was considered a "empire" as it had many tributary states."

  • Two wrongs dont make a right.

China at times made other cultures such as those in S.Easia, pay tribute to the emperor. It was def not like you suggest. There was an economic and political benefit to a lot of these nations and the emperor even sent over courtisans to assimilate into these cultures. Genocide, pillage and looting was not part of the objective, definitely not over "racial superiority"

"Anti european revisionist history" could be an honest attempt to recognise ones own mistakes.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna Its not racist, its only shows what happen at this time. Like if we were talking about world war 2, where Nazi were the evil and the Americains suppose to be the good part, but finally both parts finish as a loser, because war don't bring any good thing. So I don't want to shock you,but I'm giving my point on that, but you can always tell what you think about this. So thank you to read and a nice day.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna NO WHAT WHITES DID AND ARE STILL DOING ARE RACIST. SHUT THE HELL UP BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW THE TAIL END OF THE SWORD AND BULLET, YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM YOR LOVED ONES, YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO LOOSE YOUR CULTURE, YOU DONOT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS AT ALL. NO ONE NOT ONE RACIAL SOCIETY WENT INTO EUROPE AND CONQUERED THEM. THE IRONIC THING IS THAT PAUL WENT INTO EUROPE=ROME TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST AND SHIT LIKE THIS HAPPENED LATER!

  • @infinity999ful

I find you offensive. In more than one way. I am white and don't remember doing anything to you or anyone else. the comment you made is one that I find very racist. Also, I don't think that you know the meaning of irony. Before talking about Paul and his missions please read it again before you say things like this. I am not excusing what they did, I'm saying that you need to calm down and reconsider the consequences of your words. Also, all caps is just annoying.

  • @stonelm191 There is help available for the mentally insane.

  • @infinity999ful NOT ONE RACIAL SOCIETY WENT INTO EUROPE AND CONQUERED THEM? Ummm

Tell that to the German tribes. So the Moors do not count? Or the Ottoman Empire, Huns, Mongols, Tartars, Persia, and many others do not count? Anyways historically outsiders tried but got there butts kicked every time for the most part. Read more history bud.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna It's hard not to be anti European at times (speaking from a minority's perspective) but it's irrational to single out just European atrocities. It's irrational to even condemn Europeans for the actions of their ancestors or any group of people.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna

I tried to look up what you are talking about, and could not. Can you give me more details.

I don't think GGS is anti-european. You might have noticed that Jared Diamond is a white man. If he's anti-european it would be really strange.

  • @Ninjaculation He wouldn't be the only Jew to harbour a deep resentment for Europeans. I bet if asked, he would explain how his family barely survived the Holocaust. There's a long list of Jews that assert the notion that Europeans didn't rightfully earn their place in history.

  • @Ninjaculation Sure its strange but unfortunately many white people are anti-european.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna Racist that is a reach stop saying things mad never said. Mere fact you said it is racist says more about you

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna You do realize that the treasure fleet was worth a fortune right? Maintaining something like that requires massive amounts of funds. This was before the influx of British silver spurred on economic growth and trade. And China WAS an empire to begin with, the country you know today was formed through massive wars between states accumulating into what was Imperial China (221 BC - 1912 AD), it was considered a "empire" as it had many tributary states.

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna Aryans destroyed Harrappa?Says who?

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna

    {Aryans destroyed Harrapa}

Which ones? Was it the ones that supposedly sank in the middle of the Atlantic, beyond the pillars of Hercules? Or the ones that supposedly lived high in the Himalayas? Perhaps Persians?

  • The segment showing the toros de Lidia & el Jinete were very cool

  • @GaiusIuliusTaberna,The China didn't need to do exploration because they had so much land. So they didn't need to do that. But those crackers on the other hand were overpopulated and running out of resources,so they needed to expand and exploit.

  • @98bigbutt LOL China didn't need to do exploration or exploit? Tell that to the Koreans, Vietnams, Japanese, Mongols, Tatars, and many others. Please, you need to read more history...

  • @xxTeutonicKnightxx,Actually the Mongols and the Japanese were the ones who went in to China and for Vietnam,it was the French and later the Japanese Empire in WWII who went into Vietnam and the Japanese Empire went into Korea. So it is you who needs to read more history.

  • @98bigbutt No, read a bit closer my friend, you are looking at more resent history, and the Chinese were well known to oppress those nearby people… China had Empires too...

It was the Mongols that was oppress long before they conquered China…

  • @98bigbutt Also wile it is true China has a LOT of Land, most of it is not that habitable. Guns, Germs and Steel gives a lack of credit to the Europeans for there development & accomplishments like if it was all an accident. Also the lack of credit to China or Persia. How do you explain other places that have similar advantages of that of Europe or Asia but yet did not developed as well or not at all? Example: How did Bill Gates get on top when IBM has all the money & resource?

  • @xxTeutonicKnightxx I would say culture has a lot to do with it. China was the most advance civilization for quite a while when Europe was still the age of feudalism. What brought Europe much wealth and triggered the age of enlightenment was industrialization but more importantly, their embracing attitude towards industrialization. Had China industrialized before Europe, they would be much further ahead today. But Chinese society was rigid, traditional, Confucius-based. Max Weber wrote about it.

  • @xxTeutonicKnightxx When I think of your example with Bill Gates, I think of a company called Smith Corona Typewrite Co. It was once a large very profitable and quite dominant manufacturer of typewriters and related supplies. They went bankrupt because they couldn't think outside of the typewriter paradigm, and they deeply underestimated the potential of the upcoming PC. It was their lack of embracing risk and designing the future that did them in. Anyway, I like to think about these things.

  • Chapter 16 from the book, otherwise just a few times mentioned here and there

  • Have you read his book at all or are you just being a stupid red neck conservative thumping knee jerking reactionary? Try reading a book next time.

  • Of course, your hypothesis is missing one critical element of research...the fact that this is a TV show based on a BOOK. It is heavily abridged. You Mongrolians can grasp that, right? Learn to read, and try again. Please then explain why 90% of Asia lives in relative poverty.

  • If you knew anything about the Mongolians, you would know that they were anything but disorganized and stupid. A regiment of Mongolian archer cavalry were completely decimate their contemporary European counterpart. Why? The Mongols were faster, more mobile and had longer range than the crossbow. Their guns/steel were better. In fact, it was only the untimely death of the great khan that pulled the horde from further conquest into eastern Europe. To reiterate, you sir are the stupid subhuman.

  • @tacocricket

The Mongols destroyed the white/Aryan/Iranians they encountered, or assimilated them. The Mongols were highly organized, nomadic societies needed to be. The Mongols destroyed and dominated the Russians until the Russians borrowed most of their strategies and equipment from the Mongols.

The only reason Mongols never took Europe is they never tried to, their leader died and they had to vote for a new one.

  • The mongols founded the khanates including the Ottoman Empire, and they certainly tried to take over Europe but failed.

  • The Mongols certainly founded a number of khanates, but the Ottoman state wasn't one of them: that was created out of Turkish populations beyond Mongol control.

  • @Renegen1 The Seljuks were the ancestors of the Ottomans, not the Mongols.

And you're mistaken, the Mongols never did more then recon in force against Europe before turning around to elect a new khan.

  • 2:08 is the part u all seem to be over looking.

  • its always sad knowing your people died and land was taken by some els viva los INCAS!

  • Diamond overlooks genetic changes that accompanied agriculture & population growth. A recent book 'The 10,000 Year Explosion: How Civilization Accelerated Human Evolution' discusses this. See the Moyzis paper:

Recent acceleration of human adaptive evolution · Hawks, John, Wang, Eric T., Cochran, Gregory M., Harpending, Henry C., Moyzis, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2007 December 26; 104(52):

  • He doesn't overlook them so much as he attempts to prove that any such genetic alterations are also the products of the fundamentals put forth in "Guns, Germs, and Steel."

As we now know, many of these genetic adaptations are essentially the product of the environment in which those people lived: malaria's relationship with sickle-celled anemia being one such example.

  • haha pussy doesnt know how to use a gun

  • Ooloosoon-- It's pretty pathedict to see people like you spamming almost compulsively about almost unfounded speculation about aboriginals and their mythological similarities with so-called white skinned gods. I actually seen you more than twice blogging this arbritary statements, get over yourself. You're here already in this hemisphere, you could stop oppressing those poor indigenous people even futher, as if they didn't suffer enough already. Let their memory be and leave those deceased alone

  • This video has it wrong, unlike the Aztec. The Inca's knew early on that the Spanish soldiers were men not gods. The king sent his servants to investigate, and was told that they were merely human. However, as you can see it still didn't help. Guns, GERMS, and Steel...

  • The Guns Sucked...the Germs the spanish faced in the tropics were AT LEAST AS DEADLY AS THE ONES THEY SHOWED UP WITH...The Steel didnt mean dick arrows could punch through it easy.

The Inca PEOPLE KNEW these "tall white Skinned bearded "Children of the sun" to be "Gods".....the very "gods" who Inca history STATES FOUNDED THE ORIGINAL CIVILIZATIONS OF THE NEW WORLD

The Viracochas they called them.."The Sea foam people"

The White "gods" had Returned (just as Inca Legend stated they would)

  • Actually your very wrong amdturion, the Incas called the Spaniards viracochas which means in runasimi (or quechua as is it now called) gods

  • EUsuperstare: No. I'm right, if you want to believe that speculation based on a "Spanish" explorer, be-my-guest. However, in case you didn't noticed. He writes that the Incas described Virachochas to be a man of white skin & dress, but with a (book) aswell?! In case you didn't notice, the Inca's had no idea what a book even was, much less invent a mythological being as having a book! Lmao! Believe what you want to believe, but remember... it's to the Spaniards interest to "re-write" history.

  • If you are going to be as square as that ("No. I'm right.") then why you replied?

Please do tell me : was Felipe Poma de Ayala a "Spanish" "explorer" (he was neither) ? Or is Kim MacQuarrie another Spanish explorer? have you even read any book on the conquest of Peru? By what you've stated, you led me to believe you haven't.

Are you serious? Are you basing your whole counter point in the fact that only 1 priest in robes out of 168 men carried a book, so therefore he couldn't be a Viracocha?

  • I'm basing my counter arguement that Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa & Juan de Betanzos said the Incvas wwre the ones to describe viracocha as a man with white skin adn dress and oh yes a "book." Come on, you know the Incas had no knowledge of a book, so why would they ALSO describe him as having a "book" aswell? Hmmmm? There's a severe contradiction, that only a grossly manupilation of some kind could of taken place. If you wish to blieve it so be it. I'm not buying it.

  • Your argument shows a minimalist point. Let's say Jesus appeared in front of you and he was wearing boots, would he not resemble a Jesus enough to you that you would say its Jesus? To the Incas similar, just because the Spaniards carried a book didn't stop them from being Viracochas (of course they weren't).

  • Eusuperstae: I assume English is not your first language, so I can see how your not getting my point. Let me clarify myself further, if you'll let me. I'm saying that: based on the chronicles of Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa, Pedro describes how the Incas viewed Viracocha. The fact that he metions the Incas as the one's describing Virachochas as having a book when they themselves didn't have knowledge of a book. Leads me to conclude that Pedro embelished this so-called image of white gods & book.

  • There was one Inca (after Atahualpa of course) who invited the Spaniards to his "castle" and he made them kind of advisers, he thought that him and this band of Viracochas (this being the spaniards) would help rule Cuzco. I'm not saying all of the Incas believed the Spaniards to be Viracochas but many did

  • I think it was Manco Inca who called the Spaniards Viracochas

  • EUsuperstate--

You gave me an example of Jesus wearing boots. Using your example this is what I meant. Let's say someone wrote the bible many years later and said Jesus ate with a fork, even though common knowlegde shows forks weren't invented then. So obviously the guy how claims that he has accounts of Jesus would be lying or embelishing to some degree, because of it's inherent inaccuracy. Imaging someone claming the Dead Sea Scrolls with Jesus portrayed eating with a fork in Passover.

  • I do understand your point and I never said that's what a Viracocha looked like (like a Spanish priest in white) as Pedro and Juan described them, of course they made it up, this is no argument. What I'm trying to say is that there were SOME who believed the Spaniards to be gods, even the Inca, who if I remember correctly, was called Manco Inca.

  • South America is FULL of...BLONDE and RED HAIRED...ANCIENT Skeletons.

The Ancient Viracochas were VERY REAL

Its SILLY for anyone to suggest that somehow..ALL..of the Indian tribes of the new world just made up their history that states their Technology and Civilizations were founded by "Tall white Skinned bearded "Gods"

There is NO LOGICAL WAY..ALL.. of these very different peoples..over vast regions of space and time could ALL make up the EXACT SAME LIE

    and why would they

  • are your a Mormon by chance

  • ...No

  • I notice that in all your posts, you use caps to emphasize your points. However, by using caps so frequently, it has resulted in the opposite effect. I am repulsed by your posts in general partly because you abuse the written language in such a propagandist and commercial way.

Also, you use caps as if it gives validity to your arguments. But, by stating something is VERY REAL does not actually make it true.

Finally, blonde and red haired peoples were domesticated by romans- that is all.

  • Uhhh...Many Romans (Italians) were and are Blonde and red haired

The Italian populations is made up of the exact same Y-Chromosome DNA lines as the rest of Europe

Of course the italians are a bit thicker on the " I " DNA LINE like ALL of Central Western Europe (thats being the homeland of the "I" decended Volk

  • EUsuperstate: If you read my first comment properly, I did mention that the Incas knew early on that the Spanish were not gods. I did imply/give that perhap's there was speculation whether or not these strangers were indeed super beings in the news of their arrival. However, before they even met Atahualpa, his messengers namely Cinquicnchara concluded eventually that they weren't gods; since they acted just like regular humans, and produced no miracles.

  • haha notice how its only the 'white' countries that are good at equestrian in particular the dressage at the Olympics.

  • The Last few seconds is the best part, lol

  • lol he looks like a total maroon at the end

  • i thought it was more so a shade of pink

  • looool "pots on their heads"

  • the incas planning to strike a trap against the spaniards resulted in the catasrophe of killing themselves.and loss of their land do to armor weapons made of steel

  • zoobomafoo

  • nice matchlock

  • Little did the Incas know they were "Half man, and half beast!" Yep true dat..

  • hehehe I love wah! wuhuuh! hehehe so sweet :)

  • the answer is food. with good food the body (and brain) can develope a LOT more than someone with a basic non-nutritious diet.

  • Scientific Research shows that GENES make up the MAJORITY of your Intelligence.

No question that your body needs fuel for you to develope it....But its your GENES that allow you to be developed.

I grew up out West and we had a large number of Asian Boat people immigrate into our town....their children spent their growing years in region in total war and never saw a full plate of food in their lives (unlike the Black kids here)

Yet these "Stunted" kids grew up to be have 100 (+) IQs

  • i'm not saying over one life time. im talking about thousands of years. maybe tens of thousands.

  • I'm not sure about the Incas, but I know other Amerindian groups laughed at early Spanish guns. Spanish crossbows tended to be more effective. While guns, particularly the heavier pieces, could be devastating in the right situation, they weren't wonder weapons.

  • Fuck the word guns in this documentary, at the time they were nothing but crap and were of no effectiveness. Replace it with Archery weapons and give them the glory they deserve!

  • yeah... your little research supports the fact that East Asians have the largest brain capacities/IQ's. But why then are they not barbaric and conquerous like your Aryan masters?

  • and what is your definition of white?????

there's tribeman on other continents that are lighter than italians out there!

go take some anthropology or biology classes, learn about raciation (or the fact that your anscestors turned white to absorb more UV B radiation for vitamin D3 production during the height of the pliestocene, and weren't the annointed master race of the world)
