  • I am being serious! Excellent content and quality video...

  • Isnt Fantastic Four #1 the most valuable?

  • Is there a complete read through...someone reading the comic straight through ???

    That would be very cool.

  • haha there's a duch flag on the front XD

  • i had all 155 issue,s,the pit rules.issue 2 was the intro of destro.my favorite issue was 38

  • That is awesome, GI Joe is awesome.

  • i have that same comic

  • I like my copy better. My looks more legit. Yours has the price and number in a weird triangle shape. Makes it look like a 2nd print. My is from the store with the barcode and the price and number/month in the proper rectangle shape with the 5 digit code under June. Yours must of been a direct market copy I guess. I don't think #1 had a 2nd print. I know #2 did and so did some that came later.

Go to comicspriceguidedotcom the one they picture looks like mine.

  • I like the french version

    G.I.Jaque

  • Mint condition? Very few comics could be considered mint condition. A brand new book would be near mint and that bend in the spine would drop it lower even for its age. Just saying :P I wouldn't buy it since if it was officially graded it may only get a 7.5 or less.

  • I have a mint complete set. What would it go for?

  • @Dabber422 No you dont you're just wondering?

  • Angry joe FTW! wait this is gijoe, ohh sorry wrong place, hahahah anyways classic game room rocks

  • You know,Cobra Commander kicked a puppy once. COBRA COMMANDER KICKED A PUPPY.

  • Uh, so a 9 minute review about a comic that should take less time than that to read? O.K.

  • @WebVMan

If it takes you 9 minutes to read any comic book, you just don't get it.

  • @WebVMan Do you just look at the pictures?

  • They always remake a lot of the old comics. and you can tell my all the ads saying dicountinued. SO i checked my GIJOE comic that says first issue on it, checked everthing..I got the first one as well in mint..i had to see a video to make sure it was the first ever and it was...The only thing, im 13, i have no clue where i got it from?? but it is a very god read and a very good colectable...thaks for the video

  • Nice review. It reminds me of some of the awesome Marvel Star Wars comics I had. Particularly a huge Empire strikes back comic book I had. Marvel's art was simply awesome. Their transformers comics were cool too.

  • Awesome, Hey, I got "Silent Interlude" ,The famous one one with no dialouge.

  • I have #1 as well but its not my most prized. I have had others that I have since sold. Incredible Hulk #181, Tales of Suspense #39, Uncanny X-Men #2, and several others.

  • i am jealous! but i'll just go and buy all the comics in book form. they have 8 issues per book now!

  • I have every issue of the original run. Hama did an excellent job and I'm thrilled that they're picking up where #155 left off. I picked up #155.5 the other day and the new storyline(s) looks promising.

  • GI-JOE and Thundercats Number 1 comic-books are MY most respected of all, sure..you can have you're superman, spidermans and batmans...but GI-JOE and Thundercats are ONE of a kind comics! IMHO!

  • I still have this old book (#2 also). Yep, #2 was a very low print run. You may tell this in your video (haven't finished it yet), but this is the first comic book ever to have it's own commercial!

  • Dude put that in some mylar binding with non toxic back paper and you will have it for years.

  • Shooter was a play on the editor-in-chief Jim Shooter.

  • I had a couple and the hair came out easy. In later years it was speculated that Ken left Barbie for Joe and turned the Barbie RV into a mobile Don't-ask-don't -tell loveshack.

  • I also had The first Godzilla (#1) and Micronauts #11 (the one with Man-Thing).

  • I used to have Tales of Suspense commics (Captian America/Iron Man) comics that I bought back in the 1980s. I also had the first issue of Man-Thing as well as a Jim Starlin autographed Iron Man #56.

  • Gi Joe #1 is your most prized comic? My most prized comic is X-Men #2 from 1963.

  • He's obviously a lot younger. I had access to Iron Man #1, Hulk #1, etc. but my parents would have killed me for spending the money on those things.

  • @LOLMikeHawk nice dude. You -probably own a new car with that comic lol.

  • I had no idea you also reviewed comics also! That's awesome!

  • i have Gi Joe #116 to like #130 or something.

where Destro is running from Cobra and from Gi Joe. he like went rogue or some shit.

Gi Joe #121 is fucking classic.

  • Breaker was my first, and my fave :)

  • i gots gi joe the real american hero #2 wich according to the oerstreet guide is rlly rare

  • I wasn't born in 1980 or anything but I still prefer G.I. Joe then the other action figures, tv cartoons, or comics.

  • man, those were the days! i freakin' loved G.I. Joe comics!!! So well written and illustrated. two thumbs up!!!

  • Actually, years after the first issue, they did go over how Cobra was formed, how they got the funding for all their weapons and stuff. I don't have enough room to explain it all in this little box, but you could probably find it on wikipedia (I guess). Let's just say the comic book was MUCH MUCH more realistic with Cobra Comander and Cobra's origin than the cartoon's crappy back story (WTF at Cobra-la). Anyway, AWESOME video. I'll give it a 9 out of 10. Great job !!!

  • A good review, but how can you not give credit to the guys who created the book? You skipped right over that box of text. Like the writer, Larry Hama, who not only wrote that, but the rest of Marvel's GI Joe comics, the file cards that came with the figures, and he's still writing Joe comics now. GI Joe Origins anyone? And if you like the art so much gibe the artist, Herb Trimpe, a nod.

  • He even left out Dennis O'Neil, the editor and writer of the modern age Dark Knight!

  • @Animalvader1 Agreed. They're legends and deserve the credit!

  • @Animalvader1 This Might JUST BE A GUESSING Review . . His Dad . . He Was 4 Years? Remeberd Back Then = Snickers VS Godzilla?! 8D

  • This is a great review!

  • Gghbbbhbbhhhhh

  • Check out the Scioli show for quick Comic book reviews. All the fun of a real show only not quite as funny. Check it out and leave comments.

  • i have a volume comics 1-10

  • Since this the publisher was marvel, do they sell reprints? Like essential reprints (spiderman essential, hulk essential, ironman essential...like 20 issues is reprinted into one huge book call an essential and they usually sell them at barnes and nobles and borders)? I really don't care about color and crap, just as long as i read it...

  • @

xoDivineJimmyxo IDW is reprinting Marvels GI Joe run, as well as putting out new Joe comics as well. try Amazon or your local comic shop

  • wow white pages thats a nice comc book you got there

  • i have issue #1 of spawn

  • So do I. Two copies. Any idea how much its worth today?

  • no clue

  • so do I

  • Who doesnt?

  • how much is the second one?

  • I was 6 when that came out. I don't think I started collecting until issue 40.

  • I got the 25th Anniversary reprint that came with the Hawk/Scarlett pack.

  • Ive got so many gi joe comics maybe ive got that one I dont know

  • thank u for sharing!!!!!

  • How much is it worth?

  • i got issue one!!!!! but it is kinda beat up :O

but it is still readable! man i was happy when i got it ^_^ and i am only 14 and i love gijoe!

  • @TOALewa20 I had all my issues book bind (go figure). My favorite issue is the silent interlude issue 21 lmao I'm 34 and still a Joe fan!!!!

  • my favorite G.I. JOE guy snake eyes

  • show more of the Pitt !!!

  • I have this too along with about 100 of the other issues. They're worth a lot to me but supposedly none of the GI Joe comics are worth any real money, which is probably a good thing because selling my GI Joe action figures is one of my greatest regrets. :(

  • Thiz iz classic :X Love It

  • I own GI Joe's "The Trojan Gambit" trade paperback. Awesome comic.

  • hmm...i didn't know Snake Eyes was the smartest Joe...did they use bullets in the comics or lasers and does the comic book talks about Snake Eyes origin?

  • No, they didn't use lasers in the comics they used bullets, and Snake Eyes is the most popular character. His origin story was detailed in issues #26 and #27 from Marvel comics, including his service in Vietnam with Stalker, the death of his parents and twin sister, his Ninja training, his friendship and rivalry with Storm Shadow, his romance with Scarlett(yes, she was with Snake Eyes, not Duke) and the tragic helicopter accident which left his face scarred and his vocal chords damaged.

  • @44excalibur yeah, I got those 2. Also, I have Issue 16 "Silent Interlude".

  • @ilovejourney1 Actually, "Silent Interlude" is issue #21, not #16.

  • @44excalibur yeah, you're right. i just pulled it out.

  • thank you, my friend

  • This is the best recview I'v ever seen

  • Wow, that's a pretty kick ass comic. No wonder the line did so well

  • i have that too

  • Som1 know if they made toys from the last crossover transformers/gijoes?

  • Very good. You i'm collecting all 3 3/4 inch.

& im proud of my collection.

You just made a good review, and its true, you need to read the firts book # to really know them.

    :)

  • VERY NICE!

  • Now that you've put your grimy fingerprints all over it, it's not MINT anymore.

    Get it slabbed, ASAP!!

  • Speaking as a comics expert, G.I. Joe is not a major character, nor is he ever grouped along with the best creations of any particular decade.

However, what most G.I. Joe-bashers fail to consider is that despite all that, G.I Joe started out as only an action figure many years earlier, and actually became a decent comic, despite competition from institutions like Our Army At War and Sgt. Fury. That in itself is an incredible accomplishment.

  • @EdGauthier1 It might interest you to know that GI JOE creator Larry Hama originally intended for his storyline to be a spin-off of the "Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD" series which was going to be called "Fury Force," about NIck Fury leading a special ops team fighitng against HYDRA, but Marvel comics turned it down. When Hasbro approached Marvel about doing the GI JOE comic, they hired Hama, who simply took his "Fury Force" storyline and adapted it to GI JOE, with Hawk standing in for Nick Fury.

  • cool g.i.joe collection

  • "Shooter" was an in-joke in the comic and not an actual Joe. If you notice heis kind of in the corner and you don't see his face. I believe they were referencing Jim Shooter the Editor-in-chief of Marvel at the time.

  • Are you going to sell of the x-men & avengers?

  • You are a turd! Issue number 1 of Gi joe for a fan of it will obviously prize that over anything else!

Im a gi joe fan and a batman fan I would much rather have Gi joe number 1 then batman 11 from the 40's being a kid of the 80's its far easier to relate to that period of time and im not american.

Why collect comics for what they are worth or rareity? " words for you dude nob cheese!

  • that was breaker in the big clear ball full of water!

  • I had that comic when I was a kid... No idea what happened to it.

  • i have the original issue 1!!!! i got it for 3 bucks but it was kinda beet up =( it still is awsome.

i am only 13 =P my fave joe is tunnel rat and i memorized all 13 origanl joes.

the reprents have crapy material for the pages though

  • At the beginning he's talking about the difference between 'Action Man' (the bigger toys) and G.I Joe (smaller) OR as they were called in Great Britain 'Action Force'.. I remember going to America as a kid and thinking "G.I What?"

  • Snake Eyes and Scarlet were an item. But they didn't want that for the cartoon show so they made her end up with Duke @_@. The stories in he comics were a lot better.

  • It's amazing that it's still in such perfect condition since you've had it since you were a kid.

  • man i am a comic head and i LOVED g.i. joe.i still maintain that snake eyes is the best character ever created

  • Everytime i see something GI Joe, i hear the movie theme to them in my head.

  • nice. more comic reviews please because this one rocks!

  • please do transformers next

  • You are officially the coolest nerd ever.

  • Wow dude it has been years since I read or even have seen this comic. Awesome video!

  • BAG AND BOARD THAT SHIT!! lol, nice review. You should review some more comics.

  • "my motorcycle!"

    Larry Hama rules!!!

  • 7th one! In your face Rep! Tis vid ws totaly relly kewl!

  • 7th? Damn bro, you did just pwn me :( :D

  • I had this in mint condition about 20 years ago. I regret giving it away when I "grew up" and gave away my comics (never again!).

I also was asounded at the quality of the paper and the ink, which was quite unusual for the time... Very high quality printing.

  • Speaking of G.I. Joe and the Game Room, I should mention just how badass the old Taxan G.I. Joe game was. Worth playing for fans of old-school side-scrolling platform/action games.

And guess what? It has your man Rock and Roll, who was a favorite of mine, along with Snake Eyes.

  • (NES game)

  • FIRST!!!!!!!!!1one

  • Nice! Woot more CGR segments! First dog shedders, beer and comic books!!

  • awesome

  • ur doing commics now?

  • "Did they have health plans?" Excellent question.
