The G1 G.I .Joe was possible the best one with fist fights but amazingly no one ever got shot or killed but millions to billions to US taxpayer dollars went to waste by destoryed vehicles and no deaths on this show .Next is G.I. Joe Renegade with 6 awol Joes secertly fighting a Corporate company Cobra that most of teh world thinks there good .
I was watching this and the second I saw that fake Cobra Commander, who I didn't really know was fake at first, I thought "What the bloody blazes is wrong with his voice?".
Then when I realized they were making a G.I. Joe movie I thought "Oh heavens this won't be turn out right, but at least it'll be funny!".
@Adrastia Cobra Commander isn't disfigured, nor is he a snake mutant either. That's just one of the may ways Sunbow messed up the storyline. He's just a normal-looking man in the comics, you just never see his face so his mysterious persona is maintained.
@Grimbot2 Marvel Production and creator Larry Hama are responsible for the comic book storyline, but Hama and Marvel had little or no input when it came to the Sunbow cartoon. Sunbow and head writer Ron Friedman were in control of the cartoon in cooperation with Hasbro. That's why there were so many discrepancies between the Sunbow cartoon and the original Marvel comic.
@44excalibur Marvel comics did the comic book. Marvel production did the cartoon . Sunbow had very little to do with it. The difference between the cartoon and the comic book is as you said, lack of Larry Hama's involvement. Check out Jim Shooter's blog post about it all (Secret origin of Transformers - part 2). ;)
@Grimbot2 Cont. "P.S. The studio actually managed to keep their staggering losses hidden for a while. More on that later.
David DePatie, in particular, for some reason, hated the comics. He hated the fact that the word “Marvel” was part of Marvel Productions’ name. While he was top dog at Marvel Productions, he refused to have Spider-Man’s image as part of their logo or trade dress. He wanted nothing to do with comics or comics people."
@Grimbot2 I did read Shooter's blog post. Quote: "As described earlier, there was generally a strained relationship between Marvel Productions and Marvel Comics anyway. Possibly because we brought in almost all their business, we did the foundation creative work for everything they worked on and we were successful, making money. Meanwhile, they created little that was useful and they were losing money by the truckload. Jealous, maybe? Whatever."
@Grimbot2 Cont."Therefore, I believe, he was delighted to have Sunbow elbow its way in between us.
P.S. As far as I know, with regard to G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS Sunbow never created or contributed anything"
So Shooter only said that Sunbow didn't create a dam thing, which is true;they just took what Larry Hama had created and turned it inside out(replacing Hawk with Duke; replacing Snake Eyes & Scarlett with Duke/Scarlett; etc.). But Marvel Productions was co producing with Sunbow.
@Grimbot2 Thanks for the blog post, btw. ;) Now I know what to tell all those noobs who like to say that "there is no canon for G.I. JOE" and "the cartoon and the comics are seperate universes." I'll just show them this blog which shows conclusively that the real creative energy was coming from the comcis, and the cartoons were nothing more than half hour toy commercials. Take care!
@44excalibur true, in gi joe 155.5 the fcbd relaunch of larry hamas/marvel gi joe (the REAL gi joe comic btw imo) cobra commander even SLEEPS with a mask on
This used to be as good as it gets! Thundercats, Transformers, The Bionic 6, He-Man....82 baby!!!! Now its hard to watch tho lol the voice acting is terrible!
ok the first time i watch this stuff so im not realy clear with the names ^^''', but does this guy with the...cloth over his head sound like Transformers Starscream of the G1 series?
They are both the same voice actor. They are also semi similar in personality. Cobra Commander has a more raspy hiss and Star Scream is more nasal but otherwise the same. The guy with the cloth over his head is Cobra Commander.

I knew it was just a movie when I saw those M4 sherman tanks used as props. H.I.S.S tanks would be so much more realistic. I'd walk off the set too!

The riot scene is fun. I like the dynamic between Shipwreck and Covergirl. They should've used her more in the cartoon.
