Frankly, I have no idea whether Sinead was abused. I just try to keep an open mind about it. Why did she wait until after her mother died before going public with it? Now her mother is not around to defend herself.

@rosemarymclaughlin I'm not being persistent. I am just responding to your posts. I know Sinead's neighbours. When she was growing up, they saw nothing. She interacted with them but never complained to them. She never mentioned abuse until after her mother conveniently died in 1985. In the UK, we are innocent until proved guilty, including her mum. I know of no real evidence that Sinead has put forward of having been abused. Where are the doctor's records? Teacher's records? Impartial witnesses?

Lots of children often did report abuse but were never listened to......that's the way it was in Ireland and still is .....and in England too or the UK or USA etc where children in care and under so-called investigation are killed by the parents/ fosterparents/guardians...

I am sorry about your mother. My own mother is alive but she has never mothered me. I was told by my therapist to listen to this song: God can be all to us and we can find within us an ability to mother ourselves. BUt to replace a mother, I don't think its possible.
