  • aww. i was expecting the Queen to be dancing DX

  • bucking HAM palace?? its fucking bucking-UM god

  • it seems the band like to throw in some fun stuff every so often to keep the crowds entertained. Just a show of some Brit light hearted humor.

  • Ooooo bad acne scars! Don't see them in Hollywood lol

  • @EliteCaptainGadget You're wrong, it was played for Queen Silvia of Sweden, not Queen Mom.

  • If you were the queen, you'd have to dance when they started playing this.

  • Thats it boys, play simple things for the americans.

  • @MegaNorman007 ... simple things are some times the best... and what do you want them to play flight of the bumblebee or something like that this song is boring...

  • @MegaNorman007 Dont be a cock sucker....Tourist finance your shit little island and what harm is it to entertain the crowd?

  • @expostfactum America, Ha ,a country built on jelly and ice cream

  • @barneyboscoe Ignorant twat.

  • Sverige!

  • If I remember right, Abba made this song for the Queen Mother... So it belongs here lol

  • if the question is why? then its simple because the queen ordered it.

  • It's pronounced 'BuckingAm. The H is silent like the P in bath!!

  • buckingHAM oh god

  • Where's the dancing queen Liz ?

  • Ahhh I love brithish humor^^

  • Ignorant and silly americans.... God Save The Queen you god damn morrons.... you never understand anything neither about history nor about foreign culture... you sicken me...

  • omg im so stupid. when i saw the title dancing queen i thought the queen really danced! not until i listened to the song hahahah

  • They simply play it to entertain the foreigners (who support the monarchies existence). and besides, after hundreds of years of marching through countries playing music as people are dying around them, I think they can play whatever they damn well please, they seem like a bunch of nancies standing there playing pop music, but they are some of the hardest bastards in the military, disciplined violent killers sworn to the crown

  • @bartapian5 Exactly this, if you go up to one of them and they shout "Step away from the queens guard" if you make them say it 4 times camera or no camera they will shoot or stab you. No questions asked.

  • @bartapian5 well said sir!

  • on why they play it... i think they play it .. just because they can and no one expects that , i love it!

  • Why? Because they can, pretty simple really.

  • this tune doesnt suit her maj, i think heavy metal is more her style lol

  • wow....that blond girl is cute. :-)

  • lol brits... we love em!

  • i thought our Queen was gunna dance.... ncie song tho :/ XD

  • For no matter how silly the idea of having a monarchy seems to us pretentious Americans, I do admire the history of the British Empire. Some of the greatest and worst moments one could imagine, are associated with England. Sir Lancelot du Lac always seemed to claim his home in England's rolling hills. (So did Richard III) Her Majesty is about to have her 60th aniversary. I just wanted to point out that Elizabeth still encourages an ages old social hierarchy. God Save the Queen!

  • Missleading title XD

  • VIVA ABBA FTW!

  • i really wanted to see the queen busting a move...

  • abba ftw lmao

  • I actually expected to see the Queen dancing...

  • In answer to your question cretin, Because they can....

  • As a phonetic speller I can completely understand why the guy in the clip would pronounce Buckingham that way. For tegibb, this doesn't make "yanks" pretentious, just this particular one naive to the nuance of the name.

  • Ham should be pronounced more as Hum.

  • LOL, where ist "dancing Queen"?:-)))

  • The reason they play modern songs as well as the traditonal ones, is to keep you entertained while the gaurds are mounting there posts which (lets be frank) isn't the most exciting thing to watch is it?

  • Comment removed

  • I'm American, so I'm obviously biased in my point of view, but accents do not make one "uncultured".

Also, I'm mostly sure that when you are referring to a location in America, you do not use an american accent specifically to say the name of the location correctly.

I will concede, however, to the fact that this man's "BuckingHAM" was unusually obnoxious.

  • good old britain

  • fuck off

  • @06jenkim good old britain YA! and Sweden... dancing queen swedish!

  • oh, the title made me think that it was a video of the queen dancing while the band was playing.

    how disappointing.

  • I dont know why people are disliking this!

    ME TOO

  • same D=

  • I have met a number of the Queens guards and they play this sort of music, a farcry from the traditional marching music, to entertain the audience at the changing of the guard as it takes almost over 2 hours to change the entire guard.

  • I betch ya she is having time of her life. LOL

  • I would love to see their queen come out and start dancing. Lol!

  • for entertainment u dick, we like to have fun too

  • good stuff, does the king of pop right!

  • i bet the queen loves to be called young and sweet.

  • they apparently do i different song each every day at the changing of the guards, have never seen it myself, but would love to one day!

  • "One question still remains....why?"

The band is there to entertain the crowd. They do a good job of it.

  • Was the queen dancing?

  • You never know!

  • lol...

  • obv not its the name of the song.. the pop song dancing queen

  • I know

  • I misread the title, I thought the Queen of England would be dancing....lol...

  • me to lol, I was thinkin "NO WAYYY!"

    Btw, I love BF2. :D

  • OMG ME TOO!!

  • England Prevails .. !!

  • Big hats yay X3 i love the big black hats i dont know why but still yay!

  • It's precisely because of cultural voids like these four goons that the Guards started playing this popular stuff! Yours truly, jonny "the voice of reason" bottle

  • You have to laugh at how pretentious the yanks are. They are so secure in their own self belief. Bucking'HAM' Palace lol!

  • @tegibb Hey tegibb, if it wern't for us pretentious yanks, you'd be doing Seig Heils right now. Instead of watching Dancing Queen at the palace.

  • @nemo8220 Well you seem to be forgeting the fact we had won the battle of Britain and an invasion was therfore unlikely and also you seem to be forgeting the Russians. But I do not want to start another one of these stupid flame wars so dont bother trying to troll. It was a joint effort end of.

  • @tegibb i dont get it....who says barick obahmer?

  • they just rick rolled all the tourists

  • i think the HM band playing a song/s everyone knows is okay, i dont see how it can effect the country =/

  • Hahaha! I just got a picture of Queen Elizabeth dancing around a ballroom as the guards play this for her.

  • im glad u find ower music funny u f***ing yank

  • Don't worry! Yanks are dumb ;)

Adult yank male is like retardet 10yo European ;)

  • Lol, yanks getting trolled by BP guards. Ahahaha

  • i got goos bumps when the girl started singing

  • I once took the summer tour of the Palace... I danced in the Ballroom... then farted... really! Don't tell Elizabeth!

  • Buckingham palace has a silent H.

  • why do all yanks say buckinham so badly? they seem to have trouble with the ham part..

  • Buckingham*

  • I think the question should be who decided to put an unnecessary 'h' in the word? It really isn't anyone's fault pronouncing something the way it looks, especially if they aren't from there. I guarantee any foreign person would pronounce it "ham," not just Americans.

  • I LOVE THEM GUARDS

  • they're playing it to show their diversity

  • what do we think of the guards playing "Dancing Queen?" I love it, it shows they have more to play than "God save the Queen"

  • Well they have to keep themselves sane somehow after guarding the palace.

  • ahhh this video dissapointed me, i was hoping for Liz to be getting her jive on.

  • ikr?!

    that's what i thought.

  • me too lol.

  • @currey89 ME TOO~!!!

  • I don't believe in pomp and circumstance that pertains to a queen or monarch. That's what America came away from years ago; now the most powerful nation on earth. Soon no more will Elizabeth's profile be on our monetary system. I will engage and help any referendum for the Euro.

It is unreasonable to think a family based in Windsor, Berkshire can represent 60 some million people.

  • well who else would any one want to be represented by??????? they are figures of our nation!

plus did you pick 60 million out of your head? canada has 33 million the uk has 60 million australia has 21 million and so on.... if you include the commonwealth it goes into the billions. and america isnt the most powerful country on earth at all.china owns the economy, russia even has more nuclear weapons. and the queen has a weapon called the commonwealth if need be.all the mosre powerful than the us

  • She certainly is a powerful figure head in our world. However Elizabeth holds no 'weight' in the world as far as decisions; she is not allowed to make or have a political say in anyway.

  • ..yea, I got 60 from UK. Australia is still 'loyal' for lack of a better word but almost voted no to have the queen represent them few years ago. Maybe the queen today is looked up to more; in other countries because quiet frankly she just does not do anythink for the public. I think its important to recognise the royal lineage however.

  • you said she does not do any thing for the public, her job is for us, she keeps us at peace and helps trade routes, it may not directly help us, but it does in general. it all goes back to what the queen said as a princess...... "I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong" the queen has stuck to these words and she does do things for the public.

  • I can begin to believe you only if you state what has been done by the monarch on our behalf.

  • the answer to that benjamin1D is simple, lets start from just a few months ago, the queen had the president of france over, she discussed things and kept up freindly and peacefull with the french, boosting relations, the queen and her family open buildings every say, as well as running thousands of charities. then the queen rewarded thousands of people for being good citizens, by inviting them to her garden party or giving them a medal, the only reward you get for being good. she gives me pride

  • The rewards and that are fine. I have always said the monarch should continue to attend major events. However the monarch no longer reign, therefore having the profile of the queen on our monetary system and the stamps is out dated and selfish. A few years ago an idea for fallen soldier was put on the stamp instead but didn't last long; hows that for unity and respect.

The monarch need to go private.

  • they are not selfish, if they were they would use their unlimited power too help themselves, but instead they do all they can, help many people, run many charities and let the prime minister do whatever he wants (because we voted him in because that what we, not her wants). i would have no one else on my stamps or coins apart from the queen, she is great britain, most countries fly their flags, we put our queen on every thing. to show our pride, and i am proud! long live the queen!

  • Good for you ownlearning.

    You Save the queen

and I'll help Save the People of this country.

  • you save the people ?!?!?!?!?!... the monarchy saves the people, u save well... nothing. the people like the monarchy. (<--- that was a full stop) now end it

  • Put simply: she stops a second Hitler rising up.

she retains the ability to seize power at any point, and every law passed must be approved by her. therefore, the monarch makes sure a dictator could not rise up. while this may seem unlikely at the moment, there's no telling what happen in the future.

  • same lol, wot r they called?

  • what are they called then? lol r u english?

  • You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly, sir!

  • God Save Our Wonderfull Queen.

  • go the queen

  • Save her from what? The agony of waving at the press?

  • lol i wanna see the queen dancing in the middle of the red guys..ahahaha can u imagine that? :P

  • Apparantly the Queen likes that song :D (but to be fair who don't lol)

  • The RAF Regiment QCS and the Coldstream Guards do actually have fun jobs and they do this for the fun not to please no Yanks

  • the whole of changing of the guard takes a while and they do this to entertain like UKmatt89 said

  • I'm not sure why they are playing this song, probably to keep all the yanks happy!

  • Yeah! The yanks love all that!

  • lol thats great i cant wait to visit.

  • LMAO!Lol they r Abba fans!

  • its sad, everyday at buckinghsm pslsce there are smiling happy tourist. all we have are angry protesters at our white house everyday.

  • That's because the British monarchy didn't illegally invade a sovereign nation.

It was the British and American governments - and rest assured just half a mile down the road from Buckingham Palace there are plenty of protesters outside Parliament and Downing St (the London residence of the British Prime Minister).

  • yes but the British monarchy aren't the British Government.

  • Our Queen is not a political figure. She is a national figure head. Thats one of the benefits of a monarchy.

  • Liz should have come out on that balcony and did a couple of turns. LOL!

  • SWEDEN AND ABBA FTW!!!!!

    sverige <3

  • thought you ment the actual queen!

    :D

    1) its by ABBA

    2) the reason they're doing it is for tourists

  • I think its good people can actually have a good time and feel uninhibbited. What's wrong with someone singing along? It must be really fun in lance and judy (belows)'s house .... killjoys.

  • they do but it's at a certain angle I guess. this is obviously hilarious. as is when they played the imperial march from star wars when the arab ambassador came or whoever he was. they've got good humor these

  • cretin indeed

  • Why Not ? :D

  • why? why not!!! We do have a sense of humour you know!!!

  • Thank you ever so much for telling me what was going on. I never would have guessed. =O

  • DANCING QUEEN...

Why are they playing this song?

    Funny....

    Was the queen actually there?

  • it because they are not playing to royalty, they were keeping the public happy untill what ever they were all waiting for starts, thy play all sorts of music.

  • ???? Imperial March? Indiana Jones? DANCING QUEEN?! Lmfao, so funny!

  • Why can't the "chattering class" just look and listen. All you can hear is stupid people making a noise, and they all think they are funny. Makes you wonder why they bother to travel, they seem be unable to remain silent.

  • Michelle at 1:00 is really pretty : )

  • lol

  • not really ;)

  • No she's not... and she ruined everthing when she started singing, along with her silly friend

  • Love it..the band, not the singing. Love the British!

  • Us Brits do still have a sence of humor. All though the woman ruined it by singing.

  • There are 5 bands that all wear the bearskin and red tunic. There are another 24 Army Bands, 3 RAF bands one of which is in the blue in this video and 5 Royal Marines Bands.

  • You're so smart.

  • ROYAL NATIONAL MARCHING BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet you are American! For **** sake do your research! They are H.M. Band of the Grenadier Guards! They are fully trained soldiers

  • correct fully trained men not like the yank wank silentdrill cerimonial platoon.should be called cheerleaders cant fight that for sure.funny how they want us as allies

  • Grengds speaks sense!! LISTEN AMERICANS

  • bandsmen one day medics the next.good job us brits sorted the argies out in the falklands WITHOUT THEIR HELP.we lost good men there but at least they were killed by the enemy not by top bums

  • that is fantastic much better than some of the rbs (regimental bullshit) u see from other countries bands and yes this is the best band in the entire british army i love the grendadier guards LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!
