I did everything according to your video, but...like a lot of guys said here, I came across a problem too. I did the first part where it says Android 1.0, installed it...went ok.

The problem now occurred at the second sequence where it should say Android Phone, instead it says ABD. Standing for Android Debug Bridge?

I tried this on two windows xp computers. Same thing on both.

    Any ideas till now?

    Thank you.

what do u suggest I do next???

  • when i go to install the second driver there is no Android Phone in my device manager list. Please help

  • Tested

I've faced the problem that the latest USB drivers from the Android SDK and from HTC Sync 2.0.33 don't recognise HTC Desire as Android 1.0 device in Windows.

So here is the solution that've worked for me perfectly.

All that you need is just add 2 strings to the android_winusb.inf's from Android SDK's USB driver [Google.NTx86] and [Google.NTamd64] sections. They are as follow:

    ; HTC Desire

    %SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C94

  • @dimarcobp I have the same problem as above, I did the first step updating Android 1.0, but now I cant find where it should say Android phone to do the 2nd update, and when you say add strings do you open file android_winusb.inf's and copy and paste

    ; HTC Desire

    %SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C94

or is there another way to un do the first update so we can go back to android 1.0 and I can try again

  • ok so i did everything until i get to the part where is have to go to the device manager i cannot find the damn Android 1.0 -_- any suggestions..?

i made sure its plugged in and in debugged mode .. its also on charge only

  • @kevincrs24 so did you install the first driver, and you're stugling with the second one? or you can't install any drivers? because if you can't install/detect any new hardware then it's probably either that you've installed HTC Sync on your computer, or just the USB cable is wrong.

it may also be that you could connect the phone to USB 1.1 port. it doesn't always work properly.

so connect it to the back of the pc (because ports there are 2.0), or if it's a laptop- try and find the 2.0 one.

  • @TheGadgetsReviews Oh.. Well ill try your suggestions thanks.. uh ill let you know how it goes :)

  • @TheGadgetsReviews Ugh... its not working lol.. heres the problem .. when im in device manager I cant find the Android 1.0 to update the HBoot -_-..i dont have htc sync so idk what it it .. hope its not the wire..

  • @kevincrs24 have you got a spare one? or even more importantly - is it the original wire, the one with "gummyish" feel? or just like a normal USB cable? because those not original ones tend to loose connection when you just touch it.

also - did you try the USB 2.0 ports ?

  • is this a funeral or a phone video

  • it says that there is no compitable driver that works on a 32bit windows pc

  • when i try to install the second driver, i can't find Android 1.0

  • does the phone have to be set to "debugging" to install the drivers? because i forgot to set it.

  • @Leviathan123456 yeah, it's important to have it set on debugging when installing the second driver.

  • when i try to install second driver unit a message appears saying driver not compatible...why!?

  • @Leviathan123456 which one are you selecting? the ADB interface, or the composite ADB interface?

either of them should work, so if one doesnt work, try the other one. I don't know why, but it sometimes works this way, so.. might be worth a try.

  • @TheGadgetsReviews it doesnt get to that stage of selecting which drive when i choose android winusb file it tells me it dont work with that driver...

  • darn it!!! im getting an error message saying windows cannot install driver software?

    what do i do now?

  • @Leviathan123456 try it on a different pc maybe ?

  • when ur choosing the android_winusb.inf data

if i want to choose this data i have a different data

    my ''.inf'' is missing

so according to this it also says no matching software found

    pls help me

  • @jumpfreak94 did you download the drivers from the link in the description ?

  • @TheGadgetsReviews yes sir

  • @jumpfreak94 lol

maybe try different pc? I dont know, I can't help you remotely man :/

  • @TheGadgetsReviews no problem m8

but still thanks for your effort

  • Hi

I´ve installed first driver when device manager was showing other devices -android 1.0

  • @cabrenn Same here :/

  • @cabrenn Thats happens to me too please help!

  • @cabrenn same problem but ive got a wildfire and xp . HELP !!!!!!!!

  • @cabrenn Has this problem been resolved?

  • @decuma I hope so.Uninstall everything with HTC in name via control panel-uninstall. Turn your phone to HBOOT and connect to pc. Go to dev manager and uninstall your phone´s driver. Download hboot drivers from unrevoked site. DC and connect your phone again hboot. You should see Android 1.0 in dev manager. Unpack file and put it somewhere you remember. Install driver by choosing Android USB Driver (that file) and than click Open. Hope this works just len me know.

  • it's just installing the driver software now, but i couldn't wait any longer to comment. this video is so so so clear, so thanks so much for the upload. hopefully your videos can help me to root my phone!

  • Fuckin idiot dont wrote that this version is only for x86 win

  • @Tamman lol, it's for x86(32 bit), and x64(64 bit)..

  • @TheGadgetsReviews Lol, but it didnt work:)

  • ''The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for 32-bit systems.'' What to do? help please!

  • @N1cX591 you have to choose the exact file, not only the folder.

just look closely on a video. run it in 720p and full screen. you'll see what I mean :)

  • I think I failed at one step, how do I uninstall this?

  • @strutspojken1337 you mean the drivers?

just go into device manager, right click on the driver you want to delete, then select unnstall, and tick "delete the deiver software for this device" and just click ok.then unplug the phone, restart computer, and the driver will be deleted.

  • when i go to install the drivers a pop up comes and say that a software 1.0 needs to be installed and to insert the disc that came with my device and no disc came with my desire so wtf does thats mean plz helm im verry irritated

  • maybe post to make it clear what you need to do in the hboot and also that you need to manually select the file...when you let windows look for the updates....

    windows 7

  • I downloaded the drivers to my desktop, and I debugged my htc hero, but Idont see the andriod 1.0 in my device manger?? and yes my htc hero is plugged in to my laptop while doing this.

  • @bigboy11201 then it's either something with your laptop or the phone itself..

    Im not sure.

have you tried installing only the drivers when youre in usb debugging mode, then running the rooting software, and see if the drivers will install?

  • Hi, if i click to OK after browsing winusb.inf then i see error massage ... i must checking if this soft is compatibility with cpu x64

  • @majklvojta what error exactly?

and the drivers are x64 compatible.

  • @majklvojta I get the same error message too, it says that it isn't compatible with 64 bit operating systems.

  • install the first step driver but when i power on my phone, and ask me to select charge only ect i select charge only and nothing hapend.in device meneger is not any not instaled drivers.that is ok ?how to know second driver is instaled and how to fix problem.ty

  • @bythevale do you use windows?

and nothing should happen- but the thing is- does anything show up on device manager?

btw. did you turn the usb debugging on?

  • i need help downloading the file i dont know what to do. please help

  • @ValenciaFan94 what do you need help with?

just chose one of these files, and wait that 50 seconds, then click download..

  • yes i'm having a lil problem i'm at the step where we are trying to install the driver for the 2nd time with android ADB interface, and it's telling me that me that it's not compatible, i'm trying to do this with EVO 4g please get back to me as soon as you can please

  • @75edainsworth is it allowing you to install the drivers anyway? I mean there should be a prompt, something like "install it anyway".

if there isn't, try the adb composite interface. if it doesn't work either, then it's something with your computer.. what windows is it?

  • @TheGadgetsReviews i am using windows 7 pro, and what happens is when i go to click on what where suppose to click it gives me the error message but it gives me the stander drivers what i start out with before trying to make the changes

  • @75edainsworth what error does it give you?

and I don't really understand the rest of what you said ;p

do you mean it doesn't let you install the drivers?

  • i have problem with download page for driver, i cannot find it, plese help.

  • @vukasinnbg it's in the description.
