BLACK WATCH SHOT HEAD INNOCENT MEN IN THE 6 COUNTIES OF IRELAND THAT ENGLAND SLOE FROM IRELAND BUT THEY WILL FACE ANOTHER JUDGE WHEN THEY DONT HAVE POLITANS TO BE THEIR JUDGE THE MARK OF CAIN IS ON THOSE WHO SUPPRESS THE INNOCENT BY MURDER......
I love the song, but I find a local singer called John Caskie sings this better. And 2pac, I have lived in Scotland all my life as has my dad'd side of the family, and I find your comments offensive.
I agree! The Black Watch is a truly legendary regiment. Here in the US we (those of us who know anything about military history) speak of them with the up most respect. Not to take away anything from the other regiments of the British army. Some of the finest soldiers have come from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
@McAndy89 scots ha rite then me uncles nxt door neighbour was in the black watch served in ireland came back and uncle said to him so how was it and he said everything we do if for us brits and our queen so if there willing to swear humege to the queen then they damn sure aint scots
@2pac1971to1996rip ,you dont know what being scottish is,youre a fucking illiterate little mentaloid.Scotland is part of Great Britain,by far and away the best part.Thats as much our Queen as it is Englands. The Black Watch are one of the worlds truly legendary regiments.Do your research, and brush up on your fucking terrible grammar.
@garethella Your grammar's poor too, Scotty. Are you really listening to this song out of a sense of chauvinistic nationalism? Military tradition gotcha all riled up? We're all conquered peoples on some level, doubly conquered if someone swindled you into loving the fucking monarch. I bet you love the priest whose dick you sucked as a boy, too. Shape up and enjoy the fine tune. Cheerio!
This was sung to great effect in the play "Black Watch" by the National Theatre of Scotland which toured the world recently to rave reviews. You can see it on DVD now.
my great grandad died in ww1 and he was a part of the 42nd.

@rifleman1122 Isn't this song about the 42nd Black Watch?? The Black Watch are Scots, not Irish.

*****(5) stars BTW
CrosslegLuke 2 years ago
Indeed it should, Luke. But I like this version so when I listen to it I just think more along the lines of a father seeing his son off to war.
