The reason that not everyone does this is because they cannot comprehend the fitness and years of running background required to do well in mountain running.
I ve been road running for over thirty years and have done numerous fell races.
I can reach the summit of Snowdon in 56.16 but cannot break 90mins up and down not having the required skill or courage to throw my body down the mountain.
He should of had a zimmerframe I could have beaten that old at my walking pace. His dad must be really immature and his son willing to let him win. or his son must be really slow.
Despite that excellent filming fellrunnig should be a social sport with more people competing.
wow, i didn't know this was a sport. i remember in vietnam, there was a temple on top of a mountain, most people took a chairlift up. anything they couldn't fit on the chairlift, they gave to these runners who would run up the mountain with it. usually would beat the chairlift.
i live in northern ireland...der isnt realli a big following here and i only 16. is there anywhere you could recomend visiting to get a real experience? im a cross country runner and a track runner, but i always wanted to run mountains, and have a pet love for orienteering....seems the natural choice so i was wondering if you could tell me where i could lay hands on a nice fell course to try out for size ^^ thnx alot for gr8 vid, inspired me to try

Love fell running. It is insane how well you train every muscle and ligament from your feet up to your core..
Very addicting too..the problem with that is that i always over strain myself^^
