Jackie is nobody's fool and neither are her parents. She's one of the sharpest people I've ever seen on a stage; I have often said that, even if she couldn't sing a note, Jackie Evancho was going to make her mark in this life. She learns at lightning speed and is interested in positively EVERYTHING going on around her. By now she could give lessons in stagecraft alone. Jackie is a phenomenon in MORE than one way, folks. She's like a force of nature.
Well it looks like the pessemists are comming out of the woodwork. Some people have the worst outlook of life and can't seem to see the good part of it. I predict that Jackie will prove the good part of life, not only for herself, but for all the rest of us that appreciate her growing talent that we will enjoy for years to come.
Only time can tell what will happen to Jackie in the future. For now, I am just going to enjoy her wonderful gifted talents for as long as she allows me on this beautiful journey with her. Thanks Jackie!!!!
@STEPHIEGRL316 Ever wondered what she'll have left when she grows up? Will she be another of those child superstars that ended up in the gutter or worse...
Will she be a new Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen?
Will she drown and resurface like Drew Barrymore?
Or will she actually be as lucky as surviving her adolescent and sing all the way till she's 65?
Is this another bright stars that burns brighter than the sun for a while, then burns out, cold and forgotten?
@koppadasao I do sometimes wonder what Jackie will be like when she grows up, but I don't foresee such a bleak future as is painted here. She's in a totally different genre of the arts than those you mention, and she exists in a different environment. Her personality is completely grounded, she's sensible beyond her years, she has caring and capable parents, and David Foster has her totally under his wing. I see her more as a Katherine Jenkins who's over thirty now and still doing fine.
@niggleodeon All of these children had loving parents, and it still went bad for them, or at least not so great. Maybe Jackie is in a different genre of arts, but it is still the same limelight that she's under, and not every child survives that.
As for Katherine Jenkins, she's European not American. Europeans have a different culture when it comes to child stars. If Jackie was European she would most likely be able to continue singing forever, but she is, unfortunately, American.
@koppadasao It's true; we Americans tend to eat our young but more in the world of pop celebrity. Some arts are a bit "off the beaten path" for pop media (jazz, ballet, symphonic orchestra, etc.). Stars in these genres tend to escape the microcosm and glitter of the world which you paint. Probably because stories about these stars don't "move the media" as much as the world of pop/rap/Hollywood. For all of her fame, I find that many have never heard of her.
@koppadasao ONLY GOD KNOWS .. REMEMBER HE PUT HER ON THIS LITTLE FUCKED !! UP PLANET OF OURS ... TO BRING SOME HAPPINESS TO MANY PEAPLE IN THIER LIVES ... THINK ABOUT IT ????
@FUCKINGNYORKER2009 And the same effing god put peaple on this effing world to suffer. Nice god you got. To me he sounds more like the Devil than a loving god.
@koppadasao Well, aren't you just a ray of sunshine?! Concern is one thing but cynicism and despair seem to be dominant themes here. Perhaps, you ought to just enjoy what is now and save the despair for your therapist
*I know Hip-Hop, I know Jazz, Classical, Opera, Country, Blues, Rock & Roll, Salsa. I can say: *This 11-year-old girl has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard*
She has helped to make music MUSIC once again. Glad there are so many who appreciate something really decent.

How sad! In a few years it will all be for nothing. What a waste! Used up for nothing. My hearth cries for you, Jackie.

I'm afraid she is exactly that.
