@LilDemon147 a) holds the sheets in place better than a "normal" corner. b) Prevents sheets coming displaced, getting creased and leading to pressure ulcers. c) looks neater.
when you turn around as you sleep, the sheet and cover don't get displaced exposing your body to the cold air and forcing you to wake up to tidy your bed before being able to sleep again
I'm a caregiver and I would not be happy with myself if I made a hospital corner like that. I heard him say he was in the Navy? Bless his heart it must have been a while back lol. A big F in my book
taking his time for this video is good for training puposes. This is one thing I always felt to have no purpose. I personally don't think it makes a difference if the corners are mitered or just tucked in. The first thing I do in a hotel or if I have to be in hospital is untuck those corners because I feel clauterphbic when they are tucked in around my feet like that.
@HollyAnn123 some people prefer the neat and tidy appearance of military style bed; although, he didn't do this to military standards in this video. To say that it makes no difference if the corners are mitered or just tucked in is like saying that it makes no difference whether you brush your hair or not. If you're sloppy, people will think you're a lazy slob. If you're neat, people will think your clean.

@spametta I'm pretty sure I did. Hell it was obvious, people could have passed the written exam before even taking the class.

if my drill instructor saw a hospital corner like that he would have flipped the bed followed by a series of demeaning remarks!

That actually looks terrible. Definitely not tight but he wasn't doing it for an inspection, just a youtube video so people get the general idea.

I agree with PTurchan1. This is not a very good hospital corner.
berkelep 3 years ago
As long as it doesn't kill a patient, that's acceptable.
