  • "I asked for three other good-looking guys, who could play and this is what I ended up with" - Love you Larry!

  • "You had the Beatles on your show, looking good Dave " laughing hard !!!!!!!!!!!

  • U2 try's not to take themselves too seriously, the irony is that everyone else takes them too seriously. U2 forever.

  • hey u2 fans, try live at red rocks, colorado 1983, sunday bloody sunday. these lads know what they're doin an they do it feckin well. god love them.

  • Adam is so freakin cool haha

  • i love U2 they make me proud to be part irish ^^

    socal

    i love that drummer

  • Adam u legend!

  • U2 may be 'like' the Beatles of our time, but I believe they shouldn't be compared to any band, whether it's on fame or money or worldwide sales.

U2 are the U2 of our time.

    Period.

  • @RyanDJGillian thank you...u can say that again

  • they were all very funny, nice interview, i laughed a lot!!!!! love them!

  • U2 is the best.. Great Bono, Edge, Larry and Adam..

  • Haha, right before Letterman spoke to Adam I thought: Man he's jus sitting there at the far end doing nothing :D Too cool that guy

    1970-80's Pink Floyd

    1980-90's U2

    U2 to Now- Coldplay

  • @chronkituss you forgot rollingstones. they should fit somewhere in that time line. Iam not a big fan of rollingstones but i reckon they made ONE of the biggest influences on the genre of rock.

  • @MikelSeo ya ya your right they should go after beatles before zeppelin cuz they where shit after the 70's

  • 4:33 haha

  • i love theese guys

  • U2 r da best

  • U2 are legends!

  • What i love most about U2 is that they are much more than just a band - They actually are very, very close friends. They could never have begun to imagine the fairytale story about to unfold when Larry Mullen put that notice up in Mount Temple school looking for musicians! God bless you U2 - As an Irishman you make me extremely proud! DREAM OUT LOUD !!!!

  • @AJBUCSFAN : I'm Irish and his name is pronounced Bon-o Bon as in bon boyage with and o at th end.

  • Give Bono a Corn cob pipe and have him keep one eye closed and he'll look just like Popeye!

  • Thanks Adam Clayton. I now have something to throw at all my guitar playing friends and their six girly strings.

  • *the Edge* doing his bes not to swipe the musician's guitar effects unit and tweak it till it sounds perfect.. haha

  • U2 rocks!

  • U2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • letterman's audience always clap too much. great band though

  • I love these guys, especially BONO!! He is like great wine, better with age!

  • I love ADAM! He's so hot!!!

  • U2 ROCKS!!!! :D

  • The new album was, by U2 standards, rubbish.. They are still the best band in the world.. They got it back after losing it to Oasis for a while

  • BelarulsFun,

I think that maybe it's out of you leauge.U2went back to their roots on this one, and made it more spirituual without all the anologies. Plus this album makes you think, as most do. Read the titles to the songs, and you can tell it's praise to our maker or what else would the Magnificant be? & White as Snow? & the title song?& Unknown caller? It's about faith. Evevn before this album you could always feel the Spirit in the house at a concert, even more than at church.I love the CD

  • LOL, "I have 4 thick, long strings and he has 6 girly ones"

  • u2 is awessome!!!

  • Edge was born in London and Adam in Oxford, Bono and Larry are from Dublin

  • no the edge is from cearphilly in south wales, i live 10 miles away

  • you know your band has been successful when you get a street in NYC named after you!

  • Adam is British and I think The Edge is from London aswell, go figure eh ! = )

  • no hes not he was BORN in london... moved to ireland when he was 5..... and the edge was BORN in london as wel and moved when he was 1 both to malihide.....

  • Oh right, fair enough I knew there was some British connection. I stand corrected, cheers mate = )

  • @gaughran9696

Correction: Edge is of Welsh ancestry (both of his parents) but he was born in Barking, Essex which is OUTSIDE the London borough. He was around 3 when his family moved to Ireland. Adam is born in Oxford and moved to Ireland at around age 10. Only Bono and Larry were Irish born.

  • @MaryJosette80 i read it was when Adam was 5. 10 makes more sense though, I would have thought if you moved at age 5 you'd quite easily end up with an irish accent.

  • @Jess91ism

Actually I read it from the book "U2 by U2" where Adam related his story that his family chose to move to Ireland when he was 10 (I think, only his brother Sebastian was Irish-born unlike him and his sister). Anyway, regarding accents, there could be a possibility of kids maintaining the accent of their parents and at the same time acquiring the accent of the country where they grew up. But in my opinion, Edge sounds more Irish than Welsh to me.

  • @MaryJosette80 Adam was 5 when moved to Ire., he's ten yrs. older than bro.

  • so what if he does??

  • What is the craic with the accent lads????

  • Larry is so witty and charming.

  • you are witnessing the greatest rock drummer of all time.

  • keith moon says "HI"

  • Tell him Hi back. And ask him why Larry Mullen Jr is the greatest rock drummr of all time.

  • does edge ever take his winter cap off??

  • Yes to put on a cowboy hat or his shower cap ;)

But seriously, he did take it off for Pavarotti's funeral. And in Bono's "A Day in the LIfe of The Edge." Bono does catch him in bed at the crack of dawn to begin filming. The Edge's wife lets Bono in and he sneaks into the bedroom and catches The Edge sleeping. When the Edge wakes up, none to amused, he wears the pillow like a hat.

The Edge is not a morning person;) But after a shower and a cup of Free Trade Coffee, he is ready to kick B.

  • fat chance! It's glued on

  • Comment removed

  • Too bad they didn't go to Adam when they spoke of the history.

    Adam renamed FeedBack as U2.

  • It wasn't Adam who named the band it was one of their mixers, and I can't remember which one.

  • Edge's brother, Dick. Ahh Larry saved Edge's his brother from a lot of band jokes.

  • It is Dik :)

  • Phew :)

  • @mRRRc and royalsteven:

To end the argument: Edge's brother is Richard.

  • Larry Mullen has really come out of his shell in interviews.

  • I dont get it. I really, really dont fuckin get it. Whats with all the retards leaving shitty comments about U2. If you dont like U2 watch something else. Dont waste your time. Time is a luxury

too many degenerates like the ones leaving remarks on this page have. Maybe you people should get a job or a life nonetheless.

  • @espinozafn I absolutely agree. I am also sick and tired of people trashing other videos simply on personal preference. Thank you for this excellent insight and comment.

  • @espinozafn Partially the 'shitty comments' result from having U2 saturate the TV and airwaves when they release product. 5 nights on Letterman? I mean, that's going to piss off anyone. 4 of those nights could have highlighted NEW talent...

  • @Johnny6666 it doesnt piss anyone off actually.

  • @Georgikinz Well, it pissed ME off, so it did piss off SOMEONE.

    ; )

  • @Johnny6666 Sorry, but there is no new "talent" being released by the music industry. Pretty much everything released and being pushed on the public by the music industry today is pure and utter crap. U2 is true talent.

  • @espinozafn I've never gone to a musical video on youtube and made a negative comment, ppl who do that have some serious envy issues, oh and u2 fucking rocks

  • if you dont respect the person atleast respect their music cause you cant say shit about it.

To call u2s music generic and not creative you must be deaf seriously

  • manosblim,

I think maybe you're the idiot! U2 music has a lot to say to the over 30 crowd, even maybe more than to the teen-age crowd. Thier music makes you think, and while it's great that teens are listening to U2, It's just as great that the over 30 crowd is too. Look at their concerts. There are more over 30's than 14, and under.

    God Bless,

    Robyn

  • U2 are the Beatles of our time!

  • I would like to say F****Y**, but I'm too much of a lady. Oh I guess I said it anyway.

  • AHumbleNarrator,

If you can't say something nice about someone than just don't say anything at all. You know what you say is a reflection on you, and it sounds like sour grapes to me. And as far as Bono's humanatarian works gohe does it even when an album not due out.

He even does a lot for his projects while he's on tour, and hardly has time for himself. So don't speak unless you know what you're talking about.

  • man, i really want to get stuck in a lift with you ! I bet you will love my Bono tattoo :D VIVA U2

  • AHumbleNarrator,

Do you even know what humility means? By your remarks you can tell you have noooooooooooooo idea. Humility is to know when to keep your mouth shut. You know the Bible says a fool utters his whole mind, but a wise man knows when to talk, and when not to. Do us all a favor, and get off of U2's music videos, because obviously they hold nothing good for you. Do you know why people put others down, it's to make you feel better about yourselve. What a sad way to have to do that.

  • AHumbleNarrator,

Get professional help. You really need it.

    God Bless,

    Robyn

  • @colmhearne no way

Oasis always will be representers of Beatles

  • @DurtyHarrys Yeah, but Oasis sucks though.

  • @yurismir1

who the fuck you are to say that they suck?

  • @DurtyHarrys I don't know. A person with an opinion maybe. You know, just like everyone else. You know what they say about opinions...

  • cant anyone see it wake up Bono isn the same mn anymore his smitten with pride too over confidnt and smug is not ery appealing

  • 4:42 edge would you sing bono can't sing. hilarious. i love bono and larry, edge and adam.

  • the crowd is fkin irritating! Nothing against U2 but there's like applause every 10 seconds and everytime they gotta wait till it's over

  • kli, Stalin was the general secretary to the Soviet commuinst party until 1953. What century are you talking about? dumbass!!!

  • what about 19th dude

  • makes me think of south park's "more crap" episode :P

  • i'm not number 2!!!!

  • u2 is amazinggg!!!

    Bono divino and divine!!! ;-D

  • antianus: you sound like you think it would have been better for us to sit around in funeral homes, burying the victims and wait for the next attack to come. what bono does dispite he's making outrageous great music, is Save Lives! there's nothing phony about that.

  • agree

  • busted: wishful thinking? what possible reason could you give for looking u2 up on youtube.

  • so's your dad...he's really gay...I am your father

  • larry is better looking than bono

  • stalinists???? pardon me??? what century are we talking about???

  • Edge, would you sing? Bono can't sing! kkkk

  • I was a soldier in Germany at this time. I never got invited to the Stalinist parade , but we were placed on alert and had a drink for all the Germans who died crossing that wall. I was 17 years old.

  • These guys are just....LEGEND!

  • Larry looks sooo cute!!!!!

I love them, what a charming guys!!!!

  • Larry is speaking..that rare!:Dlove them

  • More of 30 years toghether...

This is an example of RESPECT and TOLERANCE!

U2 is the best band of the world precisely for that.

    MASTERS!!!

  • U2 is the greatest band in the world

ur right, they really are great people.

    peace.

  • These guys have an amazing humility, good humor and charm. Yes they're rock stars and pursue that relentlessly, but at the same time they are a remarkable group of good guys.

    Amazing.

  • I could not agree with you more. You said it all so there is nothing I really want to add, except to say that it's so refeshing to see 4 guys still such close friends after 30 years. Even though they have disagreements, and actually some fight have come to blows, they still are uch loyal friends. Something that one doesn't see too much these days. It is so refreshing, and i believe that friendship has made them the best band in the world.

  • dude adam is awesome he could kill sting with his crazy bass playing

  • no, he couldn't. But it sounds like sorry for Edge's joke about Sting. It's really nice of him.

  • I REALLY LOVE U2!!!!!!!!!!!
