  • I am so sick of people just spewing comments on something they may not know anything about. The door gunners we employed were largely from the REG Force but some were reserves. They are only employed as such in times of need. The main crew member that operates the door gun is the Flight Engineer. If anyone wants to become an FE you must be employed as an AVN tech for a MINIMUM of 4 years(on type!) Be "A LEVEL" and go through the selection process. Go through all that and you MIGHT get in!

  • OK I've read enough bullsh#t!!! I am an ACTUAL Flight Engineer in the RCAF. I know the man in the video personally and flew two tours in Afghanistan with him while I flew on the CH-147D Chinook. The mask is to keep the dust out during dustball approaches and it keeps the wind noise out of the mic while you are conning the aircraft. We go to the desert to train on door gunning skills. And YES they do engage ACTUAL targets when the aircraft or troops on the ground come under contact.

  • @c130ace no.

  • i want helmet and mask

  • is that an m240h?

  • @UNLAWFULCOPTER

    M240a.

  • @UNLAWFULCOPTER In the Canadian Forces it's a C6, FN MAG. Not sure what version to the US it's most like.

  • DIE SAND DIE!! lol

  • looks like master chief lol

  • @BackBlocks09 from what i've gathered only the snipers saw intense action in support of the americans back around the invasion. (and not for lack of trying, i know those boys humped the shit out of those mountains.) wasn't until we took over kandahar and madusa kicked off that we were heavily engaged on a daily basis.

and don't be calling me a greasy civ. i've thrown down some serious rounds in mushan, zanghabad, talukan, and hajji of the panjwayi/zhari district

  • @BackBlocks09 i said heavily engaged in combat.

  • what the mask he wears is for ?

  • @Flecktarn108 Protection from sun? stray shell casings? flying through clouds of insects or dust? stop wind burn?

  • @pedrosbikeiscool hmm kk.. I'd thought a scarf or a shemagh would've done the trick, didn't know that a mask was needed for this..

  • that mask is beast

  • Get some troops! for all you haters, Canada has one of the best trained armies, if not the best trained, in the world. Now if only we could get better finding, we might get some of the gear the yanks get.

  • ah what a wast of tax payers money

  • @treviesm3 what do you mean waste? their training so when the shit hits the fan the gunner has the skills to support the ground troops or return fire when doing escort, would you rather the gunner miss and accadently kill some kids. what would you rather spend tax payer money on, a failed welfare sysem were people live off of it using the system. haveing 10 kids over their life to keep the welfare checks coming, what would you spend the money on, oh let me guess world peace...............

  • @treviesm3 it's called training you dumb fuck. what do you think, that we give troops machine guns and tell them to fire it for the first time in battle?

  • More like "TEST FIRE, TEST FIRE". There ain't shit in the Registan.

  • YEAH CANADIANS GET SUM! GET SUM!! tear apart the fUCKING TALIBAN! GET SUM!

  • Shooting at sand dunes.. it's what the Canadian military does best. God forbid they take on actual people, no, that would be dangerous.

Go get those sand dunes boys!

  • @KevinDolin You are very ignorant, we have the highest casualty rate of any force in Afghanistan and we are in the most dangerous province.

  • @killmachine234 we're in the korengal?

  • @Jordan96CND Yes i know, I was just stating to him that we do take on real missions, as he stated "Shooting at sand dunes.. it's what the Canadian military does best. God forbid they take on actual people, no, that would be dangerous."

  • @killmachine234 so we are or we're not in korengal? by the way is that sarcasm when you say "no, that would be dangerous"

  • @Jordan96CND Dude are you dumb? I quoted the guy who I originally replied to for making fun of the Canadian Forces. Maybe if you scrolled down about one comment you would have noticed.

  • @killmachine234 but you just said that canadians are in the most dangerous province of afghanistan and the most dangerous place in afghanistan and the world is the korengal valley

  • @Jordan96CND Wait what? I was referring to the Canadian forces as a whole, and

Kandahar province, which they are in, is one of the most dangerous. We have suffered the highest casualty rate during the war (rate not deaths in total).

  • @KevinDolin I'm beginning to think all of you Ausies are the same because you all have the same ignorant attitude about you. Sure Canada isn't bragging about the shit they do but that still doesn't mean we don't do anything! Theres a lot more to war than just killing people. Oh and another thing Canada is sure doing a lot more for Afghan than your country. We have more troops committed and where committed in the stages in which Australia only had their SF teams in .

  • @KevinDolin i watched "restrepo" on the korengal valley, and i found it was the only documentary that actually showed what the conditions were like on my tour. living in a cop, filling hesco while under fire, coming under contact on a daily basis, losing friends in gunfights. don't kid yourself and pretend that the americans are the only ones getting some in the world. canada has been heavily engaged in combat in afghanistan since 2006. do some research dumbass

  • do we have any miniguns for canadaian army or do we just have the falanx anti missle system?

  • @legomaster425

Some of our vehicles and weapon systems do mount miniguns, but it is a rare sight. Most common vehicle weapons are C9s, C6s and weapons similar to the M60.

  • How can you shoot women and children? - Easy, just aim ahead of them!

  • i'm going in as a signal operator, reg force soonm they said i could be posted to tactical air, would i ever get a chance to do this?

  • @NapalmSabbathChains ... unlikely... besides Sig Op is a Red Trade meaning once your in you cant get out.

    ~Thanato

  • Bear in mind that the recruiter will tell you ANYTHING to get you to sign the paper. Don't get me wrong.... I think the CF is a great career choice. I served for 21 years and my son joined in '09 as a Sig Op. He joined as a Sig Op because the recruiter LIED to him, telling him it was the only option open to him. My recruiter lied to me in 1980. I see a pattern. Do your research before you sign anything.

  • Just out of curiosity what trade is this?

i did infantry for a year in the reserves and im signing with reg force as soon as i get some things sorted out and im wondering, is this a specific trade? or is it just the duty of another trade to do this ?

    Cheers

  • While this gunner was a reservist infantry, the primary user of the helicopter gun is a flight engineer.

  • @ben12342666

while flight engineer is his job description, you dont go into the recruiting and become a FE. FE's are usually AVN techs or something along those lines in the Air Force

correct me if im wrong. " this is what i was told in Oct/09 as per canadian forces recruiting center "

  • @ben12342666 ur a lier , good one internet Rambo

  • @POTismedicine Lol, What ever you say man.

  • @ben12342666 the reasons why i call you a lier is, 1 i know lots of people in infantry , and dragoons, THEY all know that a door gunner is a helicopters engineer who takes a gunners course, and you say u were in infantry part time ( what regiment? , what battalion? is only gonna let you serve 1 year, and your profile says your age is 18, and then your youtube channel says your 34, confusing? and u say you did one year of infantry , last time i checked military service is on 5 year contract

  • @POTismedicine Military service is on a 3 year contract in regforce p.s

but i did RESERVES if you would of read my comment right.

  • @ben12342666 Usually infantry, mostly Reserve Infantry.

    ~Thanato

  • Easy! You just dont lead them as much! HAHA! Aint war hell?!? HAHA!

  • This is great. will make it easier on the ground troops.

  • how could you shoot women and children?

  • Name one women & child that were killed. I don't wan't to hear a big long story, just say 2 names.

  • People didn't get you were quoting Full Metal Jacket.
