To clear up the confusion:

-this is stop-motion; shot with an old Bolex 16mm two frames at a time.

-It took 3 hours to make, as a school assignment in 2005. The idea was to juxtapose sound with lots of connotations, with images to give a new experience of this sound/image.

-it is ordinary sand on a glass plate with light underneath, this makes it look black since it is the silhouette of the sand. Don't think it is very magnetic, it is just sand (tiny tiny rocks in a crowd..)
