From Nov 09 to March 2010, out of 19 council houses, allocated by Tralee council 11 went to immigrants. Many Irish people are on the housing waiting list, some waiting for 7yrs, and the houses are going to foreigners.
Kerryman 14/4/10
This at a time when Irish children in care are being moved around in different care homes and B&B's. Some of these kids have been abused and committed suicide - they would greatly benefit from a secure council house.
@kellyoneill shouldn't it be "Whove changed our Green, so oft to gory." instead of "Whose chains are green so often gory"? I've found these lyrics on the web, and it makes more sense to me.
Basically all the lyrics to this song on the internet (including the ones in the description) are wrong.

must be pretty hard to sing! it's even harder than "rocky road to dublin", since it's slower, and drains more air!

I think it possible that an electronic-music group called "daft punk" used this song as inspiration for their song "Technologic",
I always love seeing elements of the great songs of yore carried on to today.

This tune seems to have the same melody as 'Garry Owen', the song used by the 7th US cavalry, of Custer fame. Both have Irish links.

it was a poem orignally, written by a fella called thomas diamond in the 19th cen. I'd say luke kelly put the tune on it or maybe someone else.
