I've go to roll with you on this hobart. Compared to 1969, this aint' shit. Before all the smack, Jack & crack, the Stones were dangerous. Ron Wood isn't qualified be a roadie for Mick Taylor.
there is a feeling i get when i am sleeepy and then i listen to the stones that makes me wanna get up and scream START ME UP wohooooo !!! IT"S THE ROLLING STONES !!!!
Charlie's signature beat keeps it together no matter who is singing, playing the guitar, the sax or the harmonica.. It is Charlie's drums that are essential for the Stones. It resurrects me and makes me wanna get up and dance all the way to the end. bam !
@panlemans Talka bouta fake Stones fan. If you actually liked the Stones, you'd support 'em through thick and thin, not be a complete fuckface. Now tell me, is it their fault they got old? Nah, I believe that happens to everyone...it's great to see them do this type of stuff at this age. Hell, when you're in your 60's you'll probably be a big fat bald fuck who lives on the couch.
@EvilAnticsLive If you can't hear the difference between the 60-70' Stones and this jerkin around for the money that they have shown ever since the 80'-90s, there is something serously wrong with you. In other words: you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.
@panlemans Since when did I say they sound like the did in Ladies and Gentlemen (for instance)?...uhm, never would be the correct answer. And it's unfortunate that you think they're in it for the cash, which the may as well be in it for, but knowing that they all are up to their heads with thousand dollar bills, would make it useless to need more cash. Plus, I'm 16 and never have gotten the chance to see 'em live, and I wanna...so bite me
@panlemans ...their pre 80's albums is all I listen to....idiot. You think you're a know it all, oh this kid is a typical 16 year old...doesn't listen to the 70's/60's Stones, but you're wrong. I really haven't listened to any Stones after Tattoo You, and basically worship the albums Aftermath to Some Girls (maybe throw in Tattoo You and Emotional Rescue for kicks). You think I don't know dick, ha!
Get Yer Ya Ya's Out is superior to all Stones other performances of those particular songs. Including this one. That is an opinion, but it holds some fact.
Mick Taylor is an excellent player but Ronnie is actually a better fit for the band. He weaves his sound better with Keith's guitar and does'nt overplay as much.
Sure guys. But remember, 1973 is 1973. They are obviously older. Yet still kick ass. And they are still a great band. Honestly, I think there even more recent stuff sounds better than this. There are better 2002/3 Version from the Live Licks Tour of Street Fightin' Man. They didn't do this song in the Bigger Bang tour.
Yeah this version is just as good if not better then the Brussels '73 version. This one is very Keith prominent. That was a good sound Kieth had on the Voodoo tour. What pisses me off is that I was 5 miles away when this was going on and I had not a clue it was! (was in Tokyo in Tachakawa district) I had already seen the Oakland show in Oct though.
The longer the Stones stay together, the more people are going to say how much better they were when Mick Taylor was a member. Ron Wood leaving Rod Stewart hurt both Stewart and the Stones. Neither have been as good since.
Best ever live version & Keith actually let's Ronnie open it! Will wonders never cease? LOL! (Wish they would apply whatever discipline encouraged this version to JJF & maybe finally perform it with the original intro, rather than launching right into the main riff!)
@sylverspice Listen to versions with Mick Taylor and then these version. This version is a joke by comparism. The versions with Taylor blow this away. Where's the great guitar solo? Not in the version- LAME!
This is from that March 18th 1995 concert over at the Tokyo dome. NHK released the entire concert on laser disc and I bought it. I agree----this was the best performance of this song I've ever heard. The JJ Flash song at the end of the concert is the BEST I've ever heard the Stones play JJ Flash. I blast these songs on my stereo and it's incredible! Oh---I was in Tokyo when this happened but I had no idea it was going on next door (I was at Yokota AB and staying downtown).
saw this tour in cleveland and it was decent - i appreciated the boys dusting off some of the seldom heard material and breathing life into it again - deeper tracks than this one - but "best version" is pretty strong language - the 1973 brussels with Taylor and the GYYYO version are still my favorites - i'm no wood hater either - he's a way better fit for the band than taylor was and wood can play no doubt - but i just like mick taylor's playing better
Opinion does not discuss, perhaps their parents have not taught him that. The video is mine and my opinion is not accepted should be ignored. Only that. Put the video with your best performance. That is the goal here, is not it?
