  • Indeed ain nice island considering its location...but..coral around the island is in actually bad shape!!!! Sure better then in Rarotonga, which is a dirty island...I flew back to my country with a stopover in Thailand and found that for instance Railay was by far more pretty . Even snorkeling was better, and cheaper!

  • @labium1 I can only imagine you didn't snorkel in the right places. It's a stunning experience and free if you use your own gear. If you really want to blow your mind though, head for Suwarrow (very difficult to get to) where the underwater life and the snorkelling and diving experience will beat any in the world.

  • @meitaki I had my own gear and was 2 weeks on Aitutaki, been around the island bike bike, took several boots, went fishing, spearfishing, snorkelling etc etc..still I stay with my opinion. Within a couple of years the coral will be completely destroyed by sea spiders.

  • I've been here. and I'm going back this year!!

  • this may sound like a dumb question but what is the native language?

  • I have been to Aitutaki and had the best time of my life. I will never forget the kind people and landscapes to die for. I have promised my wife that once our kids get bigger we will go back.

  • why would u want to own everything all the time, just enjoy,

they dont allow dogs there, but stinking vehicles,

  • oh man, i want to go there so bad. its too bad foreigners are not allowed to buy islands there, not even property either. wonder though, if you get a joint citizenshit u can buy property or your own private island

  • Please spare a thought (and prayer) for the people of Aitutaki whose beautiful island has been battered this week by Cyclone Pat. Hundreds of people have had their homes badly damaged and lost many, if not all of their possessions .

  • got married on the cook islands 17th of april last year. An unforgettable day and the islands are incredibly beautifull

  • Aitutaki, au bord du Bleue Lagoon... Bonjour au chef cuisinier agenais Jean-Pierre Bonnechère (ça ne s'invente pas)qui n'arrive pas à faire porter des sandales aux jeunes serveuses :o)

  • yeyah . aitutaki rep . AMURI SOULJAHZ AWL DA WAY

  • Wow....Such beauty on God's Earth. Mi life will not be complete unless I visit the Cokk Islands and the other great islands of the Pacific.

  • It's even more stunning in reality. And if the lagoon isn't enough for you, travel agents have just voted the beach on One Foot Island as the best in the whole of the Australia-Pacific region. So there's another reason for you to pay a visit to Aitutaki!

  • I am coming over one day!!! My dream is to one day take a month or two off, and to travel the Pacific Islands, perhaps even find work there, who knows?? To get to see places like Aitutaki would be an amazing once in a lifetime experience.

  • I love Aitutaki.....but mANgaia ROCKS HARD OUT!!!!! SOoooo Prettiful!!!

  • You name One Foot Island on your footage TAPUACTI it should be TAPUAETAI

  • I would like to say it was a deliberate mistake, but it wasn't. It was just a spelling error...thanks for the correction.

  • I remember that plane. God I miss that place. The jungle bar, whale sharks, nuclear subs. Soon ....Georgina xoxoxoxo

I LOVE AITUTAKI! IT IS PARADISE and I'll go back there for sure!

  • The island of Aitutaki is one of the Cook Islands we are planning to visit in the future. Your video has beautiful music that "rounds it out". Is the music available to purchase (on-line, or in stores)? It sounds as if it may have been recorded on Aitutaki?

  • The music is performed by the Cook Islands National Arts Theatre. They've recorded several CDs and I you should be able to buy them through Amazon or other on line retailers.

  • Hi I was there with the Army in 1988,I am trying to locate a Lady called Ett-Etta,if someone could help please email me,thankyou,Dereck.

  • It is and it isn't. I lived in Samoa and Fiji and I can tell you that under the veneer of 'happiness', there's a lot of unhappiness, poverty and uncertainly about the future.

  • The South Pacific has to be the most peaceful place on earth....I've only been to Tahiti and Moorea but when you are there you get the sense that the people there could not be happier...it is the closest thing to paradise on this earth.....

  • aitutaki 100% ARAURA ENUA BAYBEE VAIPAI ALLDAY

Is anyone here from the villages of Amuri or Tautu??

  • I spent a week on Aitutaki back in 1988, living with some locals. Really isolated, but very loving, caring people there. I'll never forget it.
