  • Lowfat or not? With the Chicken stock, the Wine, all those seasonings and the cheddar, the flavor must be explosive... I work with a lot of lowfat foods myself, and the nice thing about seasonings, spices, and herbs, is they don't add for the most part, a SINGLE bit of fat to the party.  Flavor makes the meal And you sir, have made a WONDERFUL mac&Cheese, I followed the recipe and made this 2 months ago, now, I make it once every 2 weeks to go with dinner. Thanks so much!

  • Sure ;-) This recipe is just my take on mac and cheese and I wanted to add some white wine. Works good with the chx stock as well.

    Of course milk is fine ;-) That is the classic recipe.

  • Personally, I make my mac & cheese with wheat pasta, and velveeta (as my mom calls it "imitation cheese") May not be the healthiest, but sure is tasty!

    Whole wheat pasta is healthier for you than regular actually. So your recipe is probably not that bad.

  • Wow, that looks good. I have another idea for you, hope you don't mind it's another pasta...Do you have a spaghetti meat sauce recipe? As of now, I'm taking store bought sauce, adding spices and meat (typically sausage) for added flavor, and corn starch for thickness.
