  • !:03 oh no! Marius is strangling eponine! I always thought he was a jerk.

  • For a second they look like real lovers. T___T at least eponine got her wish (somewhat) before she drew her last breath

  • @komi218 I know. I want to die in the arms of the man I love.

  • OH wow Lea Salonga was in two concert of Les Miserables. the 10th and the 25th :)) nice

  • @marinifernandez14 Luckiest chick EVER. First Colm Wilkinson. AND Alfie Boe.

  • If you haven't yet read the unabridged version of the book, you are missing out on the experience of your lifetime. Guaranteed.

  • Lea have awesome voice!!beautifull!!!!

  • Oh god!! This has given me such goosebumps!!!! This is perfection <3

  • This is fantastic. I get chills every time.

  • Marius may have fallen in love with Cosette, but the audience falls in love with Eponine.

  • I suppose if they had ended up together, valjean wouldn't have saved marius. So they both die... :'(

  • This performance (of both Eponine and Marius) is far, far better than the 25th Anniversary version.

  • my tissues are all soaked! Damn.....Still tearing away....

  • this is sad... no, it's even downright depressing. Lea really got me cryin' here in the computer cafe

  • Oh god, and I thought Empty Chairs at Empty Tables was depressing. :'C

  • @owletpuff I know. This one never fails to make me cry like a baby.

  • Lea Salonga was better at being Éponine instea of fanteine just sayin

  • Why Oh why can't Michael Ball and Lea Salonga stay young forever?! screw you 25th anniv version of this song. haha, just kidding!

  • TEARS EVERY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lea Salonga is the only person who could belt like that after being shot on a barricade.

  • perfect timing... perfect everything...

  • DOES SHE DIE!!!!?

  • @brookeechan Yes.

  • @Dreamer00 NUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

  • I wish they'd bring Lea back to do Eponine in the film. She's much better than Samantha Barks, who literally sounds like she is "barking" out the lyrics. Listen to her, she's shouting!

  • tears are falling why watching this is ok isnt it? because i did

  • Ugh the harmonies at 2:37 get me everytime!!

  • Ugh this song makes me cry like a baby. It's too beautiful!

  • No, Lea, the rain that sends YOU here is heaven-blessed.

  • Michael and Lea are absolutely AWESOME. I have watched this 10th Anniversary video at least 100 times. I never tire of it and I love the music so much. This one made this ole country boy cry. GREAT!

  • This puts all other musicals and all other performances of Les Miz to SHAME! Amazing!

  • angel voice...

  • ...at least HE held her while she died...

  • tears, tears, tears and suddenly; Michael's face at 3:08

  • @jlewgard He's such a tit. shame about the fact he has (had?) a great voice!

  • @jlewgard thats funny!

  • Excuse me while I cry all over my keyboard.

  • tears tears tears

  • Best Marius and Eponine of all time! Lea Salonga has a voice of an angel! She's the singing voices of princess Jasmine of Aladin and Mulan... Awesome!

  • "Promettez-moi de me donner un baiser sur le front quand je serai morte. (-) Je le sentirai."

  • Im sooo jealous of lea's low notes. People always talk about high notes and such...but low notes. Gosh.

  • It's such a touching moment<3

  • this performance is so flawless.

  • I cry everytime time, I love the character of Eponine, and Lea does a great job

  • Lea you are more than terrific. You are absolutely divine.

  • every year on the anniversairy of my grandads death i sing this song and it makes me feel so much better this is the dream cast i love les miserables

  • Best Epinine and Marius ever

  • I like to think that Marius fell in love with Eponine here, secretly. TT_TT How could he not?

  • @Hikutachama he kisses her in the book at this part doesnt he?

  • @Hikutachama Ikr! I always wanted Eponine to get Marius :)

  • @elisewoahx LOL!

  • so deep and relaxing

  • better than the 25th anniversary one. Just saying

  • @elisewoahx hahaha... you r so fun~~

  • Breaks my heart

  • best eponine yet! even claude-michel said so

  • Wow this blows away Nick Jonas and Samantha Banks' performance.

  • @daniekilljoy i thought samantha did a great job

  • @cozzy3002 She did, but not as good as Lea in my opinion. Then again, Lea's been doing this for YEARS. Still, you can't compare this performance to the 25th!

  • @ilovejosephriviera I guess so, and I may have a little bias because I kind of have a crush on Samantha hehe. But, objectively, i think she did at least 95% as well as Lea. Nick Jonas did about 50% as well as Ball though. I don't understand why the decided to cast him.

  • She is really good at dying. That must be why they keep casting her in those roles. Kim, Eponine, Fontine...I love Lea!!

  • She's definitely the best Eponine

  • im not crying, its just raining on my cheeks :'(

  • eponine's love..... soo strong... so sweet.. yet ignored..

  • and a little fall of rain ... from my cheeks =(

  • God, I was crying so hard at this part!

  • I never thought it was possible to be heartbroken and happy at the same time until I watched this

  • lea salonga is the best eponine

  • why do i keep on watching this when I know it would only make me cry?

  • 2 - 3:44

  • this is better than jonas parters

  • Sublime interpretation by Ms. Salonga and Mr. Hall as Eponine and Marius respectively!

Great chemistry both in acting as well as the haunting blend of their respective voices that truly speaks of so much emotions!

  • Lea Salonga . . .'nuff said. she is my idol!

  • this is way more romantic and heartbreaking than the one in the 25th

  • I love u all the way,Lea!!! This rendition will always have a place in my heart! soooo moved!

  • michael - best marius

    lea - best eponine

    'nuff said

  • @wankerkid 10th anniversairy cast - best cast

  • @babybel421 i don't like ruthie as much here though. either judy or lea makes for a better fantine

  • incredible

  • debo de admitir qee el tiene una voz maravillosa INCREIBLE!! wow que pone la piel chinita pero no me parece qee nick jonas cante mal!!! no es justo qee lo critiquen cuando el ha hecho una gran trabajo =D

  • First time I saw this was from a borrowed VCD (yes it was still in VCD back then) from a friend. I was already a fan of Lea since I was I think about 5 years old when she landed the role in Miss Saigon -- i'm a Filipino of course it's Filipino pride. But it's her performance as Eponine that made me a forever fan of hers & of Les Miserables.

What really gave me chills in this scene is that it's not even a full-on stage performance & yet it was really gripping I shed a tear everytime I see this.

  • The three people who disliked this got hail instead of rain.

  • this is the best performance!!!! michael ball is the best marius!

  • by far still the best a little fall of rain performance!

  • WHY DOES THE NICK JONAS VERSION HAVE MORE VIEWS THAN THIS? I am disappointed with people these days.

  • @SopranoOfTheNight They took down the other video that had, I think, over 600,000 views. That would explain it.

  • lol! His expression at 3:08 is hilarious!

This cast is amazing though....adore. adore. adore.

  • she is absolutely lovely...and this song is sublime

  • from the very first time i saw Les Miserables live in person, this song always gets to me

  • I'm convinced Michael's voice could heal wounds! It doesn't matter how often I'm watching this I will always be in tears and remain a secret Marinine-shipper!!

  • Watching this over and over again--the audience and I are almost afraid to applaud--don't break the spell!

  • this rendition of lea & michael will go down in history as one of the best if not the best ever duet performed on the musical stage. these two can really sing.

  • Musical performance masterpiece. Unbelievably great.

  • ;_; Eponine... why...?

  • i've seen this many times before... but here i am, still crying at the song. T_T such a great performance from both of them here.

  • @guerdonkun Michael Ball and Lea Salonga not only sing the hell out of this song, they act the hell out of it too. Without a doubt the best overall performance to be found.

  • Lea and Michael are the best performers for this song. They do it with such emotions and feelings not like samantha and jonas they kill the show, the worst ever.

  • I love it but the eyes of Marius here is not catchy(no expression), Lea Salonga ... is a goddess

  • they're voices are just perfect for each other. this is so beautiful.

  • I just watched les mis in london tonight, cannot compare this to the new batches of actors/actress. Lea and michael are incomparable.

  • goosebumps....

  • like seriously i'm crying all over my computer, it's ridiculous how good this is! OMG

  • I went in saw this in Appleton Wisconsin last night and it could never compare to this!

  • this is just beautiful... and sad...

  • Listened to this song in class....

    BAWLING

  • To be Eponine is so tragic...I personally think Marius should've fallen in love with her...Cosette just annoys me...I'm not quite sure why.

  • @singactcheerlive there's actually a phrase in French: "faire une Cosette"... literally to "do a Cosette"... and it means, basically, to be a whiny brat. I laughed the first time I heard that... but it's so true.

  • the song is so powerfull :))

  • Lea Salonga and Michael Ball? PERFECTION!

  • @DeRicci super AGREE!!

  • Eponine is DEFFINETLY my favorite character. I don't know about anyone else... but this song makes me cry ALL the time! ]:

  • Lea was amazing

  • How sweet and sad. Eponine dies. :( "sniff"

  • just by hearing them sing makes me tear up :(

  • "That's all I need to know" gets me every time.

  • 3:07

  • I can't decide who i like better as eponine, either Lea Salonga or Lea Michele! oh well I can have my cake and eat it to right?

  • @garr0414 go for lea salonga... coz she really did eponine on broadway, on tour & on the 10th lesmis anniv. whereas lea michele only did it during a concert @ hollywood bowl in 2008 i think. meaning she was never an 'official' eponine in the first place :))

  • thumbs up if u believe there will never be something even similar to this performance :)

  • @Viktoriya4167 you are wrong wait a coup years ;)

  • @Viktoriya4167 ...or this musical. :)

  • it;s funny i must have sung marius's part a thousand times and every single time on his last word i choke up

  • I was breathless during the entire song and then I cried...Wow.

  • You would dislike this?

  • No other pair will EVER beat Salonga and Ball in these roles!

  • any body got tissue?

  • Eponine is such a trooper.

  • best eponine ever!!!!!!

  • 2:27 = Wow! I can really feel the pain!

  • Marius and Eponine were afraid to hold each other in the 25th concert

  • I love the face he makes at 3:08

  • This musical is in a class of its own....

  • I saw them live when I was eight years old and than I saw Les Mis again a few years ago. I can't not cry everything

  • the beauty of the voice of a filipina emerging above the principality of the Broadway world

  • I got to go back-stage once when Les Miz was here in Louisville,Ky...I got to see the costumes and props used in this show..i'll never forget this unique experience...I've only seen it on t.v. a couple of times, but i sure did enjoy it

  • I cannot watch this without crying. The peacefulness in Eponine's voice and the regret in Marius's that, as much as he'd like to so that she can be happy for once, he can't love her back, is heartbreaking. Lea and Michael and Samantha and Nick should consider themselves proud. Both pairs did a spectacular job.

  • My mother understudied for Eponine!

  • Comment removed

  • 3:08: Marius seems a bit too cheerful...

  • dont you fret monsieur marius. i don't feel any pain...

    T.T till the ending

  • I'm a little embarassed to admit this but I saw Les Mis in London by chance. However, when I left that theater, I knew I had seen something special.

  • beautiful

  • Everytime i watch this.. I get tears in my eyes.. Poor Eponine.. May she rest in peace.. I like the acotrs that plays as Eponine and Marius. I wish i could have actually been there to see that play!!

  • i agree ..beautiful voice..it brings tears to my eyes too!! ..i'm not ashamed to admit it either!

  • @TheZombiextra Me neither.. lol

  • No offense but marius is a horrible actor,

  • Perfection!

  • Not my favorite Marius I have to be honest...he looks so fake at the end

  • @ghareil

I've always believed that the clapping at the end of the song was meant to be the rain ;)

  • @PenguinMidnight i cried with what you say it's true it was the rain(sniff)...

  • @ghareil....because you clap at the end of a song? I'm just saying...usually you clap at the end of a song. just saying

  • I almost kind of am insulted that the audience even clapped at the end.

why would they ruin SUCH a poignant moment with inane clapping. It's almost like they think they can just clap after that? No. Something like this is not clapped to. Something like this is relished in silence, and is allowed to sink in. It's almost an insult to the tragic story of Eponine. I want to hear the odd sniffle and bawling, NOT nonchalant clapping! It deserves SO much more than that, clapping is inappropriate here.

  • @ghareil It's not the actual Broadway show, just the concert so YES clapping is appropriate. And usually at the end of a song people clap, you know?

  • @ghareil um...I'm not sure how much you know about theatre, but it is customary to applaud after every number, happy or sad, as a sign of respect and acknowledgment for the actors and how hard they worked. It's an insult not to applaud a performance like this.

  • @14ocie I kind of realize that that is basic etiquette. I was trying to make a point that this performace was so moving and touching and all manner of feelings that it was almost jarring to hear clapping afterwords...

but I'm glad you respect the theater so much... sorry if that sounded personal to you in any way...

  • @ghareil oh it's fine :)

  • perfect, both emotion and voice...lea s. and michael ball...

  • i cried! She's the best Eponine! And Fantine!!!! She's simply AMAZING!

  • She's indubitably talented! :) Lea Salonga has everything a performer could ever wish for!

  • Comment removed

  • Lea is also a good Fantine :))

  • I can't help but cry every time I watch this! so very moving!

  • The best Eponine Ever!

  • 1 dislike... looks like Cosette got a youtube account.

  • @courtingmrblythe she just viewed again to dislike. look. 2dislikes! xD

  • @mythia21 she did it again....

  • @thexxxgiaxxx lol yeah. 3dislikes. Nice going Cosette! Still not happy that you ended up with marirus by the end of the play?! xD
