i wish people would stop arguing about whether or not they love old or new incubus more, whether dirk or ben is better and whether theyre sell outs. incubus is one of the few bands that still makes music the way they want to and they do it for themselves, because essentially that is what theyre supposed to do. they should make music for themselves and not cater to what we think. i respect them reglardess and theyre all amazing human beings, just that growth is a part of life.

yea man me too. SCIENCE is pretty saweet. the last record i really enjoyed by them was Make Yourself. Morning View could have been better, but it had some good songs on it, same with Crow Left to Murder.

Now i was pretty displeased when i heard Light Grenades. the only song from that album i liked was 'Dig'. none of the other ones were that good. and their new single 'Black Heart Inertia' isnt any better. hav u heard it? i mean wut gives, guys??

Black Heart Inertia wasn't really good, but in Light Grenades there are really good songs in there like Rogues, Anna Molly, A Kiss To Send Us Off, Earth To Bella, Oil And Water.

Incubus definitely doesn't have the raw creative drive they had back then. It may just be that they've run out of original ideas having made so many good albums. From a bassist's point of view Ben Kenney is like a 6.5 whereas Dirk was a 10. Even though, Light Grenades was unfortunate, one always has the previous albums to enjoy. I personally enjoyed A Crow Left of the Murder...just not as much as I enjoyed the albums with Dirk on them.

this video is not on any dvd fool. only the songs that weren't performed on the sno core set made their way to the dvd. it's a vcr recording of the original airing of the concert on Channel 62 Hammond/Chicago. chicago area has always been incubus' strongest followers outside of LA. they used to always show random concerts late Friday nights on this station, i remember watching many as i was growing up in the mid-90's.

Kenney is a very talented bassist, and he gave a new sound to incubus, but you know, there's a lot of people (myself included) that miss dirk's funk and slapping of s.c.i.e.n.c.e. and previous cd's, so, don't hate dirk...

PS:The only thing that i don't like about ben is that he doesn't slap on A Certain Shade of Green

i agree dirk was a great bassist, he inspired me to play bass. ben is different but hes a creative musician and hes allowed the other members to let loose, because like it or not hes a technically proficient bass player who is more open to other kinds of music than dirk was. honestly if incubus made a record like S.C.I.E.N.C.E today it would sound dated. that is why its so special, its a time capsule of them as a young talented band.
