I'm not a keyboard player but I'm able to play on a basic level. I'm big into ambient techno from the early 1990's and want to incorporate the ambient pads used in that era into my own particular flavour of music. Is it worth buying one of these?
They seem to have character to them as well. Personality. I feel like owning one would be different than using an emulator. What do you think?
@Polyfusia Well this keyboard has some great ambient pads and sounds already there for the user however in order to get the best out of this instrument you have to be willing to sit down for a while and have a good mess around with the editing side of things. Despite this, if pads is what you're looking for then this board should be fine. Alternatives would be the Roland JD800, Yamaha DX7 and the Roland D50. This is one of my favourite boards as it's so diverse.
@SlimMixer thanks man, both the Wavestation EX and the Roland JD-800 keyboards are my all time favourites. I notice you have a JD-800. I'm pretty jealous lol, I'll have to pick one up on ebay some time soon before they become to rare to find. Thanks for the comment :)

As always,
this is superlative ....
and as I have said before,
don't commit yourself to signing up with any band
unless they demonstrate ability which is equal to yours
