Bruton was called something else in the Canadian dub, I recall. it was something like Comenturk? does anyone remember?

most of the characters in the Canadian version had different names, too. Like Dr Elephan was Prof Peabody, Daddy Walrus was Dr McNugget, etc.

I'm reading the Manga called Pluto by Urusawa, it is slightly based on "the Greatest Robot On Earth" exept Atom is not the main character, had to watch the original and it is awesome, they both are great for what they are, you should all read Pluto is guided to a more mature audience

a few things: im glad that instead of AB getting a rbot girlfriend (who would have to be killed by the end of the episode) urans got a 555 foot tall boyfriend. and another thing: why does the end have astro about to die, bu t the ending song is still: come and join us in our melody, a happy one for you and mee!...

It was interesting watching what "Pluto" was based on, though I have to say the dubbing was pretty bad. For some of the robots, I thought they talked awkwardly at first because they were robots, but for the humans...there was no excuse, which led me to believe the awkward robot speech was not on purpose.

Hell yes. Urasawa kick ass. He take this simplistic (if morally conscious) story and twists it into a taut thriller and thinky thriller. Certainly worth your while.
