Blimey, I thought Rainbow started in the 1980s, (decade I was born in), Rod, Jane and Freddy I hated as a child, and Bungle the know all..Reading the credits I wonder if Roy Skelton is the father of Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton.
I've never heard of the tape version-not sure if they did one or not. I'll dig out one of my copies of the 1972 LP soon and try and get it up on the net somewhere.
Can you remember anything about the 1972 Rainbow LP? There was one that I used to have which on side one had nursery rhymes sung by Rod Jane and Freddy and on side two, had a story with Rod,Jane,Freddy and the rainbow cast. Was this the same one?
@Meanmanmartin2007 Thanks very much for uploading this great episode it is very much appreciated fantastic episode I tell you it brings back so many memories from years ago and I love that episode as well it is a good episode the memories it brings back is amazing and believe it or not the last time I saw that episode well was in April 1983 but I also saw it on Nick Jr Classics as well and it is a great episode and I want too see them from Nick Jr Classics on you tube as well please
In the early days - until the late 70s, I think, it wasn't Rod, Jane & Freddy doing the songs, but Rod, Jane & Mathew Corbett.

I've got a few copies of the 1972 record. It's all telltale songs! 'Shapes' from the first episode is on there.

Apologies for the late reply but thanks for that information about the LP. I'd like a copy one day. Do you know, did they bring it out on tape also?
