My new favorite musical ensemble. I have already burned out the Ronnie Scott Blu Ray & CD. I always knew Beck was a genius, especially after Blow by Blow. What has happened to the music industry? We were teenagers absorbing this stuff! We tried to play the songs ourselves! Now, it is all about the scandals, glamour, the beauty & private lifestyles of the "musicians". Tal Wilkenfeld could easily exploit her Goddess like looks & play to another audience. Instead: no makeup, t-shirt, baggy jeans.

I'm a little leary of this new stuff he does, to be leaving comments that say he rules and this that. Can't seem to get into his new stuff. give me the days when he was with middleton, powell, tench, chaman. there was no debating in your mind if the song jammed or not. his new stuff is so hit and miss these days and thinking about buying the cd is a waste of money. thank God for youtube because I can listen to him when he was really performing and not whammying around. diamond dust rules

@chev202 Refreshing to read your post. That you're not going along with the mob. I'm ok with this stuff. But for me it was way back. I discovered him on Truth. The incredible Micky Waller on drums and loved having Nicky Hopkins in the mix. The best Rod Stewart ever did in his career. There was no hit and miss on any of it. I'm usually sticking to the originals. But Beck transformed blues classics to hard rock/blues classics and when you can do that, you're a classic yourself.

One of the great things about Jeff is that he's NOT perfect. Around 2:20 he seems to find himself struggling after thing don't go quite as planned with the notes he plays. This clip, from the 2007 Crossroads Fest (and avail on the 6-tune DVD that accompanies the 'Deluxe' version of 'Emotion & Commotion' (the full 11-song set is avail on bootleg) suggests he wasn't able to muster up the sustain he sought, likely because of the big, open-stage setting. But yes, a great band...all now gone.

I like how Tal and Jeff feed off each other. Sometimes while Jeff is playing he glances at Tal. She has some cute facial expression or warrior look with her bass and the craziest sounds come out of Jeff's playing, or she'll smile when he's doing other cool notes. He is going to play regardless, yet Tal and the drummer are great for Jeff.

@AxisofJustice21 A lot of kids slate beck cause they don't understand how good he is, people like me who have been playing 20 years know what he is doing is incredible hard, the control he has over the guitar is fcking A+, he never misses a note, and when u listen to the pice back over u relies he just made a fcking work of art in time and note for note using the wammy bar in the process, the only other guy good with the wammy is hank, but hank is single notes were as beck is more complex
