24/39 is stock ? I think im going to go 25/38, and have goodwin performance do a dyno tune. Im on a 800 carb ported, Dd y pipe, and pipe, snostuff can, v force, and couldnt get around a f6. Not studded, but in radar runs would spin 200ft, I think the previous owner was more into snow cross and geared it down. any opinion? goto 24/39 or 25/38? Thanks much!
@zr580racer You can try the 25/38's just keep an eye on your belt. Mine runs 113-114 with 24/39 but I also turn more rpms due to twin pipes. It's hard to get the 800 jetted IMO with this new ethanol gas. With the work you have done you should be able to get around a F6 unless they aren't stock. With my short gears mine runs ahead of my buddies F1000 till about 100 then he goes by and stays about 5 sled lengths ahead. I haven't run him with 25/38's but I think it would be a really good run.
@FIRESHOCK88 not rilley its mostey were your shock is mawtid if you move it back sum it wont unles your fat lol and if you do that do not expeckt a lot of power with out doing a lot of mods to it
If your good at tuning carbs and clutches then go for D&D twins (I haven't seen much results from Black Magic or SLP). Other wise I would look into a D&D or Speedwerx single. You could always check out BIKEMAN as well.
I have a 2003 ZR 900 and put the Martin Barkey trail can on it. It adds to performance, takes the weight off and sounds excellent without being to loud. It has a nice growl to it. They are starting to hand out fines for pipes being to loud around my part.
I believe the 800 twins only come with the quiet can. Ran it a couple weeks ago, 112mph GPS in roughly 1/4 mile with short gears. Going to try my taller gears and a couple different springs.
no everything is doin fine ive had it since 02 and i havnt had eny problems yet, but i also keep it very maintained and i dont use it a whole lot im acually selling it if enybody is interested????????
Why would I want something slower? The 03 F7 isn't all that although it is very impressive. By 60-80 mph my sled will walk away from the big bad 03 F7. Thanks and seeing how you know so much about sleds it seems D&D is for Dan and Dale Roes which make some pretty bad ass sleds including the F1200 turbo which is the current class record holder in 500' which is low 4's@120mph. You sounds a lot like a wanna be to me.
Thanks Captain Obvious! Good thing I wasn't trying to be sarcastic with the D&D comment! So WoW! You have a modded tank to keep up to a pump gas bone-stock F7, pretty sure they run 114mph in 1000'. Really impressive you get the ski's up with your fatass on the bumper! Bet your boyfriend is impressed!
Here you go Goober454,From HCS "Our local radar runs this year(1082')RX-1's 98mph,F7's 97-103mph,One F5 90mph, Mach Z 105mph" I was running over 110 on gps (no recall on the gps had to read while riding) in about the same distance on crappy loose ice/snow on a warmer day. And yes I had the coupling blocks out and was standing on the back of the running boards. Didn't know that was a crime. Lastly like yourself I don't swing that way. Just keep living in your fantasy world.
Hmmm Mabel I'll get back to stock and see how she goes 110 not bad, and I've read people say just stay at stock gear on these...

hey can you run 92 octane in a stock 2002 zr 800
arcticcat456 2 years ago
You can but your sled will run better on 87 unless you have the heads cut or massive mods.

wow nice sled !

To bad it's not 30-40 pounds lighter like the F7's but I like it a lot. Goes pretty good for an old dinosaur.

I just bought one of these last night. Looking to pipe it. what do you suggest?

how do you get that sled to carry em across the lake? u sure there aint a 1010 or sumthin under there lol?
ZRT600Rider 3 years ago
Looks like the torque blocks are removed from it.
FIRESHOCK88 3 years ago
The 2001's didn't have coupling blocks but I have added them. It will still lift the front end easily just not at those speeds by any means.

nice sled i have about the same set up just a lil more and its set up for mountains

ZRT800's are badass, gotta love the sound of a triple, I still have a ZR like the one in this vid, it's a Tank that digs trenches in deep snow.
ZRT800's seem to be pretty rare?? Seemed like a guy got the ZRT600 or went all the way to the T-Cat. Any problems with your middle cylinder?
gregger454 3 years ago
hell yeah go Arctic cat :D got an zrt 800;)

Fish cops are real hard on noise around here so I'll keep it the way it is. It sounds just right in person IMO though.
Crash7772 4 years ago
what all do you have done to it?
DRUSS25 4 years ago
D&D twin pipes, power breather, clutch kit, V-Force 3's, torque arm, 192 pics
Crash7772 4 years ago
love it man how do you like the d&d clutch kit
kalzx 4 years ago
Not to bad....most clutch kits need some tweaking due to different areas and elevations but D&D items seems to work good for me.
