dude never use alcohol! its to dangerous! tha flashpoint is to low, the flame can esily schoot in your mouth adn than you burnyourself hard! ive had that myself. and i am an experienced firepbreather. u schould use lamp oil!
nope it isn't toxic. only make sure u dont inhale the fluid, becaus that will be toxic and u will die in 2 - 4 hours XD. also lamp oil will bot burn if its falls on the ground, it only burns when it spreaks good enough. so u cant set urself on fire. pretty usefull ;) to bad we cant jam. nobody here does firebreathing :(
We use just ordinary paraffin, which is very dangerous stuff. You can get a specialist performance powder, which is spat in the same way. Although, I have never used it. Hope this helps.
I finally taught someone in my fire group how to breath, so hopefully in the future we will be getting together for some teamwork related fire breathing.
In the meantime if you want, you can check out my video of solo-work. It's more of a practice compilation than a performance though.
Same problem here, we usually go out by car to find a spot where the police usually doesn't come. Alternatively I've been thinking of having a chat with the police chief in my home town for a safe location where we won't get into troubles.
Leuven, in the center of Belgium. It's a medium-sized university town (for Belgian standards) so ideal for streetshows. We did a 3 man show on the main marketplace 6 years ago and didn't get into trouble but I won't assume that'll be the same now.
we live in a place called milton keynes, its about an hour on a train to london. we have done a few performances, we got paid £100 for ten minutes at this lantern festival thing, that was for three of us too.
Very good deal! I only got paid once and that was 20 euro for fuel for 2 of us.
We did however have a friend go around the marketplace I mentioned with a hat and gathered enough money to quench the thirst of 4. Don't really recal how much we made.
Milton Keynes sounds familiar though, where could I know it from?
Nice vid, enjoyed watching it. I have only breathe fire twice in the last 6 years myself but I re-started about a month ago.
The campfire is pretty risky because of blowback (and alleys aren't the most suitable place as the walls push back the heat ;)). The volcano (thats where you blow straight up, no?) isn't that dangerous afaik (unless the mist that falls down ignites ofc). It just stings the eyes quite terribly. But then again, i'm not a pro :)
how old are you? just as a matter of interest...we have been doing fire breathing for a 2 years this year one of us turns 17 and i am only 16 1/2. we were stupidly young to start fire breathing!
I'm 24 now. I started firebreathing when i was 18 with a friend but we only did it a couple of times. I suffered a blowback that summer when i was trying out some stuff with the wind raging (tip: DO NOT try new stuff with the wind raging ;-)). Was pretty safe in and off itself due to the wind blowing in one direction (valley in the South of Spain) but I should've been more carefull...
2) 14 and 15 is pretty young to start something like firebreathing. Imo I was too young when i started. Thats why I'm trying to know as much as I can now, so that I can avoid the mistakes I hadn't been warned about (always try out new stuff with water first, take your time to learn things, always have someone nearby for emergencies, have someone video what you do so you can observe what you're doing, have a towel nearby,...)
Please leave comment we want to know what people think, so far we have done two public shows and have been doing this stuff for year, mabey year and a half.

Quite nice that. rated and faved. I do some fire breathing myself and are planning to take it to the streets soon.
So I was wondering, how do you manage to blow sharply upwards without the fuel spilling into your throat?
I know you can shut the back of your throat and all but I still get an uncomfortable when the toxic shit pours back into my throat.
So I was wondering if there was any particular trick to it, or if you just have to accept some small amounts to go down your throat?
