  • In watching videos of this intersection, I see that each time the lights change and traffic starts again, there are always a few stragglers on foot who have to dodge the moving cars, dangerously.

  • imagine what it will be like in another 20-30 years

  • resident evil

  • WHERE IS THIS ACTUALLY?.

  • @TLJAWSIMIB shibuya. Tokyo, japan

  • @ayayay13 OOH!. THANKS!. &, BY THE WAY, NEW YORK CITY's TIMES SQUARE IS NOT THAT BAD, I GUESS!.

  • Where the fuck is WALDO!!! >:(

  • @devapein YOUR MOM'S HOUSE!!!!.

  • Shibuya Hachico crosswalk vs Times Sqaure

  • highest in the world fatalities from stampede

  • SHIT

  • LOL. More people in this clip than there are in Wyoming I'll wager!

  • I guess you don't actually need to move your legs...you just get carried by the current

  • What's the point of riding a bike if you can only move as fast as a walker? Waaay too many people to just breeze on by.

  • @Yakita60 you think that road they are crossing is only the distance they have to travel in bike???

  • @6ftdwn Very good point.

  • Robots!

  • Ok I need to make a right turn..oh I'm fu*ked....

  • Where the fuck is waldo?!?

  • @knowpassword IN YOUR VAGINA

  • I just want to stand in front of the crowd and yell ATTACK when they are about to cross.

  • of course japan ^_^

  • I though there would be more school girls!

  • You can see me at 0:31

I"m the Asian guy with black hair wearing a white t-shirt.

  • @Oneofthosefatguys Ur one ugly motherfucker;)

  • i wonder how many ppl smacks girls asses then turn around quick as fuck

  • This is done all while there is Fukushima Radiation and Extreme Pollution in the Air.

  • there is no way im going there.. ever

  • Where's all the Anime girls?

  • @riceman460 That's in Akihabara, no too far away.

  • and I thought NY was bad.........

  • jesus crist ... this reminds me the great wild beast crossing the nile

  • That's got to be a 10 minute light compared to our 30 seconds in North America

  • I have crossed this famous intersection many times when visiting shibuya in Tokyo.

  • where are they all going!!!!

  • How long is the timer for them to all walk?

  • @Babyt4 A major reason why the Shinjuku crossing is this crowded is because the timer is set for 90 seconds before the light turns green for people to cross. No wonder it is like this. Compare this to only ~45-50 seconds on NYC's busy streets. So, it's not really an apples to apples comparison.

  • I remember seeing this on The Amazing Race. The contestants had to take a group of elderly people across town through this intersection.

  • F***mess. The bus already start and the people still running in the middle of road!!!! so dangerous

  • If this was in America, how much shoving do you think would go on every time the walk signal was given?

  • @haiuchi True, and how many cars would fly thru the yellow ......I mean red light

  • @haiuchi NO SHITS!!!!.

  • Oh Dear.

  • japanese times square but twice more crowded

the crowd reminds me a Disney park in the summer

  • oh my god :)))

  • ад

  • i saw the same person the whole video:(

  • @499lbs

loll.. i almost shit when i read that

  • i counted 1.504.439 people, you?

  • In New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles the homeless skid bums intentionally walk out in front of cars hoping to get hit so they can sue the driver.

  • Imagine if an out of control car just went ploughing through that intersection. I feel kinda bad for thinking that.

  • it's like a mall on boxing day.

  • At least wat u c there are 100% locals Japanese crowd...

  • Throw tear gas in the intersection; Crowd grows bigger and bigger; Game over, Japan.

  • thats insane!

  • a single drunk driver car can hit 30 to 40 ppl on that crossing alone

  • horrible

  • omfg get a car with a plow on the front and get so many pp points

  • if this was in Toronto, there would be multiple fights breaking out and people hit every hour.

  • Time Square...

  • @jackmiller954 times square is a pussy compared to this dumbass

  • that would never work in london or birmingham i think some1 might start a fight if they bumped into each other

  • Why has everyone got black hair?

  • @sophisticsolice

    why gaijis have yellow hair?

  • Men! For honour and glory! Charge!!

  • I like how this place is 10 times as dense as my home town.

  • Wheres Waldo?

  • Your so fucked if you trip and fall

  • JAPANESE TIMES SQUARE

  • fucking amazing!

  • If that was in Britain, we'd all be trampled to death...

  • WALL OF DEATH in slowmo :D

  • underground walk way would solve that

  • omg I never saw the flood like this on the road, its only in Japan

  • the sidewalk has to be very large! lol

  • This looks like a replica of Times Square. Advertising bullshit everywhere and a giant television spewing loud nonsense out of its speakers.

  • ATTTAAAAAAAAAACK

  • 00:06 ATTAAAAAAAAAACK...!!!!

  • what if theres a drunk driver

  • when I look at how orderly that is I don't feel sorry for them anymore. BTW, this is why you live in North York, where 20 people at most cross the street at once

  • What if the police is chasing a car...

  • holy shit .. :D

  • looks kinda like a riot's going on.

  • 1 grenade and 200 kills

  • Could you imagine the circle that crowd would create if a fight happened right in the middle of that mess.

  • @ZanderMckael nah, in Japan people would just keep walking.

  • @ZanderMckael yeah Fights breaking out in Japan are very rare ahahah a very peacfull and orderly lot ... hmmm I lOVE tokyo

  • @ZanderMckael there are no street fights in japan. it's not polite.

  • Wow.. that is an ocean of people. and so orderly too.. Impressive

  • AWESOME!! LOL

  • Thats a crazy amount of people crossing!

  • Great video! I'm writing a blog for a transportation and planning firm, and this was great for one of the entries about Accessible Pedestrian Signals and, in this case, the potential need for them at this intersection.

You can check out the blog if interested at the website portion of our main page.

    Thanks!

  • So much energy with so many people. I just love it!

  • In first i thought it is manifestation LOL

  • im definitely going back to this place again!!! i miss tokyo!!!!!!!!

  • Imagine Godzilla stomping right in the middle of the crossing woooahh!

  • im there next week (first time) ahh! lol. It's worse than here in London and i thought that was bad lol

  • mamyyy im lost !!

  • they should just make like a bridge or underground passage..

  • @AaronRodriguezTV

hence the invention of a skyway.

  • we japanese had already made an underground passage, but it is too small....

  • @AaronRodriguezTV isn't it way cooler like that? :P

  • @AaronRodriguezTV

you actually can walk under the crossing, but nobody use these ways except for getting to the subway trains

  • there already is a bridge over one street and an underground passage beneath the whole crossing...

  • War of the streets.

  • This is a joke compare to india. How they would love to have this order vs their chaos.

  • imagine someone fell over

  • ow thats scary

  • huge urban wall of death

  • They should build a bridge of some sort. It would be a blessing.

    彼らはいくつかの並べ替えの橋を架ける必要があります。これは、祝福されるだろう。

  • Wouldn't you be pissed if you just missed the lights.

  • Tokyo IS the biggest city in the world...

God I'd live there... I don't need anything but internet to stay alive, lol, And the lights would keep me awake 24/7... That's my kind of place! Plus the traffic roar would keep me alert, and I'd just eat out of vending machines like everybody else...

WOO! That place looks like heaven! lol.

  • they have cheap things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • the stuff there are actually just as expensive as New York City. I live in New York and I found things expensive in Tokyo. yeah, not cheap.

  • Some racists are desperate to depreciate my comment... Ridiculous.

  • Tokyo is one of the world's largest cities, but there is a lot of walking and running involved to make the train schedules, fight the traffic etc. The crowds of people is truly a sensory overload and when I return to the hotel room, I savor the peace and quiet.

  • I was there, I recorded a video too, but I didn't know it was a famous fact that this pedestrian crossing was the busiest of the world ! :D

  • STFU. Tokyo is awesome.its kool ther.i just came back from japan 2 days ago

  • Holly moses. is this really true.

it is like a kind of demonstration in a city

i can not belive it until i see it

    thank god for toronto.canada

  • I second that!

    I work for the TTC

  • Comment removed

  • omfg....that's nuts...WTF???

  • I feel sorry for the unprepared tourist that goes there. Otherwise, it's awesome.

  • Only in Japan (or maybe Scandinavia...) would that work. They are so orderly!

  • @maceochi I envy that.

  • This is crossing in Shibuya near Hachiko Mae.. . the glass building that you see in the upperright corner is a video/cd/book store with a Starbucks.

It is not always this "ordery". Many times people do not finish crossing the street before the light turns red and the cars get a green light.

  • looks like vietnam

  • God i love that place. Shibuya owns at night.

  • What the efff!

  • What are you talking about?

  • the population of my city is as much as all those people on that intersection

  • @CDBigShow omg!! where do you live??

  • I was in Shibuya for Halloween and the crossing was just like that but there were pandas and pirates and fairies crossing; it was brilliant.

  • Halloween in Tokyo? You mean the Japanese have adopted the American festival of Halloween?

  • Yeah. It's not as popular but little kids will dress up sometimes. People around my age (21) get involved too and some night clubs have costume parties :)

  • I been there too, but this year. it was awesome1

  • QUE·PA·SA·DA!

  • it looks like a mosh pit...

  • GODZILLA!!!!!!!!

  • I would like to go to Tokyo but not live their lmao.Too many Desasters in the part of the world but its just too crowded and more pollution their than in the U.S.

  • that's not true! your country got the worst pollution in the world together with china! don't forget it!

  • ok go there for 1 year and come here to ohio for 1 year and you'll see what i mean

  • Lol,Ohio is a state, not country! Your country is the world's biggest polluter. Most of your people drive Hummers and Cadillacs that have astronomical fuel consumptions. In Japan, they do not have dust bins, but recycle bins. The authorities will fine you for putting the wrong material in the wrong bin,for God's sake! And the best thing is,the cars Japanese people own must go for a car inspection after 3 years, and it is very strict and expensive. That's why their cars are always new and efficient.

  • wow are u serious? You can obviously see that im comparing a less populated area than a high populated area. And we do have recycle bins..Look more about america before you post comments. But i can care less I dont care about this Country or Government.

  • I meant there are very few in Japan, just recycle bins, you idiot! Everything unwanted are put in recycle bins. Even homes have recycling bins. So yeah, you should be the one learning more about Japan, you twit.

  • Wow dumbass again u knowq nothing thaT goes on here Homes have Recycle bins? we have the same term here aswell.Renting,So like i said twat learn more about America first ok bye

  • I know that, you dumb prick. I went to Los Angeles a couple of months ago and the air was horrible. I see people drive Cadillacs and Hummers. They are worsening the ozone layer. At least the Japanese people are doing something ecological about their cars, homes, offices and the streets.

  • "Sigh" Don't upu get it?? California is a high populated state of course you would see that.I can't really Experience alot of ppl like that cause i live in Ohio where the population is low.And why are you arguing about its not like your doing anything to stop pollution. Its not gonna stop for a long time too many factories polluting the air.And i can tell its no different in Japan theits pollution every smart one...But please stop wasting my time with this shit.its getting annoying.

  • I don't know why I'm even talking to an annoying prick. Anyway, everything is going eco-friendly now. Honda and Toyota are much more ecological now. What about your Ford,Hummer or the Cadillac? They are still using those big-for-nothing fuel swallowing engines. Why don't you complain about it to your ass president George? Maybe he'll blow up Japan and keep the air clean(note sarcasm) And try not to reply, because I am getting sick of reading up your defiance.

  • Omg you are so retarded just stop just stop ur a dumbass kid.You say Toyota and Honda ecological "now".Correct me if im wrong Aren't toyota and Honda Top brand cars in the US? And just get your facts straight plz Because if your wern't dumb you would know that Cadiliacs dont use fuel exhuast to pollute the air.Look more up about your little one and yeah dont reply cause im tired of owning u in this bull.

  • If you weren't dumb you would know how to spell Cadillac correctly. Just because Honda and Toyota are the top brands in the USA it doesn't mean that they are the ones that are contributing more to the worsening of the ozone layer. It is already true that most American cars are the world's worst eco-friendly cars, The Ford Focus Econetic is good, but even that was made and assembled in England. It seems like you're the one that needs to read more and talk less, little one.

  • And one more thing. Don't reply, because I am sick of receiving crap replies. You started this highly unnecessary argument. I was trying to make a point, but you kept replying with vulgarities and utter bollocks. You're not owning me,because with every reply you make,I always had one rebutting yours. So yeah, you really are winning,,,a losing battle.

  • worse then India wow

  • incredible, actually this is shibuya (center of Tokyo).

  • wow!! it was like lights! camera! action !!..why are any subways build there, overbridges may be risky

  • holy crap thats insane

  • that's crazy! but can anyone tell me from where all those people are coming??

  • Oh wow I might go to Tokyo next year 0-o

  • this was the place where i always walk by during my college life in tokyo 6 years ago...

  • i love this noise

  • crazy lu run it

  • I was just there. It is crazy... if you ever get the chance go to Tokyo

  • damnnnnnnn!
