There's just no greater power than the power of music to transport us 80's kids back to that time. Dudley Moore was an incredible Actor, and perfect for Arthur. They couldn't have picked anyone better than Christopher Cross for the theme song. I've turned this up real loud, and am drifting back to those days now, and realizing how much i miss my childhood.
Christopher Cross is what music should be about... Talent and passion. The pop scene tries to substitute talent with makeup, overrated hairstyles, fancy clothes, and naive publicity stunts. Most of today's pop 'artists' are nothing more than super models who just so happen to use singing as another way to sell their name to the public.
About 20 years ago when I was just starting out in my mobile DJ career , I played a wedding on a rental yacht that went around Manhattan it was a summer night we were on the deck there was a full moon, and I couldn't ignore the perfect opportunity to play this song. To this day the image of the moon over lower Manhattan always brings this song to mind.
Even though my Favorite Christopher Cross Song Is "Minstrel Gigolo" And Then "Ride Like The Wind" I Must Say This Song Does Have The Power To Jerk A Tear or Two From My Eye! I Love Christopher Cross, Man Was He A Magickal Singer! Wish He Would Come Back And Sing More Love Ballads For Us! :( Love You C.C.! - Tanya :)

I classic song and a great movie. Dudley Moore was never better than in "Arthur." The song brings back good memories of a time so long ago. CC + BB + CBS (three principal writers) = a very memorable, polished theme song.
Christopher Cross is the only artist to personally receive all of the "Big Four" Grammy Awards (Best Record, Song, Album, and New Artist). No small wonder - beautiful songs, original lyrics, pleasing melodies.
i remember when i was a kid i woke up in the middle of the night and heard this song at my sister's room it really makes me cry. Coz the song makes me feel sad suddenly. i know it sounds a bit silly but its true:D
always luv his song. used to have record tape. thank goodness, he's singing in my itune now. bring back childhood memories, i was about 5 years old to hear his music. did not even know what he looks like. thanks for posting. beautiful song.
@aspire1964 I enjoyed Christopher Cross's songs very much (I'm 55 now, and was in my late 20's in the early 1980's) -- all his songs were so sing-along-able, and you could put in virtually any lyrics you wanted -- a real watermeloner's (someone who doesn't learn the lyrics before a performance) delight! -- because he mumbled a good portion of his lyrics, anyway! That was fun with his songs!
This was another favorite of mine, except that my brother was living the dream I wanted, you know, the babe, the life, the success. What a great song and to be in love...
This song was played at the beginning of the movie, "Arthur"- One of the funniest movies ever made! It was about a rich guy who drinks all the time; Drunks are hilarious!
why is it that men have such a problem with a woman critisizing a man's appearance? Men critisize the way famous women look constantly. "she's too fat" "she's nasty"... so hypocritical
I agree! My friend and I went to NYC last summer, and we didn't encounter rude people. Actually, quite the contrary. While walking down the street, random people would greet us and gave us compliments. Maybe they could sense we're Southerns, lol.

Can you please tell me about the 5 grammies?
What record are you talking about? It seems we are left in the dark in my country. So please inform me.
