It's obvious that a mojority of you don't understand the background of this movie. The movie is based on the novel by James McBride which was about the relationship between Angelo & his "Chocolate Giant" with the war as a backdrop. It has nothing to do with anyone being a "white conservative" whatever that means. It's a movie and there is a story to tell but it is also entertainment. I see no "fault" on anyone's part in this movie, it's a story not a documentary, broaden your views people.

Please - go see this Movie you won't be disappointed !!!! this is Spike Lee at his best. I saw it last month and loved it dont let these a%$ holes discourage you from enjoying this epic. When are these people going to broaden their view on the contributions made by blacks in American history, but then again I guess Spike says it all at the begining of his movies - "Forty Acres and Mule" - look it up If you don't know
